Full-time: Frankfurt 2-0 Borussia Mönchengladbach

The home side take all three points as they continue their impressive start to the season. They were strong throughout the game, creating plenty of chances whilst also looking defensively strong. The visitors simply didn't create enough today, and their failure to capitalise on their periods of dominance meant that it would always be difficult to take something from the game.

Getting ready

The away side prepare for a tough test as they look for their second win of the season.

Key men out

Gladbach will be without captain Jonas Omlin today, as well as French forward Franck Honorat, both of whom have calf issues.

Looking for a reaction

Despite still performing relatively well in their two defeats this season, Gladbach and Gerard Seoane will certainly want to get more points on the board in this first part of the season. Two quick-fire goals took the wind out of their sails against Stuttgart, and they'll have the equally difficult task of keeping Marmoush and Hugo Ekitiké quiet today.

Hoping history repeats itself

Frankfurt won this fixture 2-1 last season, thanks to goals from today's captain Robin Koch and Aurélio Buta, who has since left the club. Max Wöber scored the visitors' only goal on that day.

Firing forwards

Omar Marmoush has had a great start to this season for the hosts, scoring three times so far. Tim Kleindienst has been equally impressive for his new side, scoring twice in the opening three games of the season.

Gerardo Seoane on facing Frankfurt

"There's a sense of optimism among the team. We know that we've made mistakes, but it's about learning from them. We need to be more resolute and aggressive. Eintracht are a side with good organisation, who possess enormous individual quality up top and play fast-paced football. On top of that, Frankfurt have a good mix of young players and those who provide structure. Due to their financial resources, they have been able to successfully replace big-name departures in recent years."

Dino Toppmöller on facing Gladbach

"We're confident and see ourselves as favourites but we're aware of the difficulty of the task. Gladbach have strengthened well with Stöger and Kleindienst. It won't be easy but we feel ready. Regularly playing Saturday evening matches shows the status that Eintracht Frankfurt has earned. The floodlights will be on, and it's a home match - it's all set."

Eintracht's Kevin Trapp is facing a spell on the sidelines after picking up a thigh injury during his side's win in Wolfsburg last week. That means Brazilian back-up Kauã Santos will deputise against Gladbach. When highlighting the assets of the 21-year-old custodian, Eintracht goalkeeping coach Jan Zimmermann said that "the untrainable qualities shouldn’t be ignored: his attitude to the game, his reading of the game, his movement and agility. We’ve been preparing for (his full debut) for a year; he has the skills."
