Full-time: Bochum 0-5 Bayern

What an emphatic way to bounce back from a midweek defeat by Bayern. The Bavarians put five past Bochum to reclaim the top spot in the Bundesliga. Not an ideal start to life at Bochum for Feldhoff. Bochum came out after the break with a new energy, putting Bayern under pressure and looking dangerous at times. But Bayern got the all-important first goal of the half courtesy of one Mr Harry Kane after a fantastic assist from Musiala. Sané and Coman then put the game beyond reach with curling efforts from both wings. Coman's was the pick of the bunch in what was a decisive victory for Bayern.

The winger came off the bench to get the fourth for his side.
87'

Sané to Tel

The winger is played through on goal but the ball is on his unfavoured right foot. He attempts to square it to the arriving Tel, but Bochum get it clear.
86'

Over from Wittek

A half-chance for Bochum that. They smash it up to Hofmann, who holds it up and lays it off to Wittek on the left, who lashes a half-volley over the bar.
83'

Bayern pushing for a sixth

In the last couple minutes, Drewes has made very good saves in one-on-one situations against both Müller and Tel. Bayern aren't resting on their laurels, to exorcise their demons after the midweek defeat to Barcelona.
81'

So close for Bochum

Sissoko drives into the Bayern box down the right, playing Miyoshi through. He cuts back to Hofmann but he can't quite connect. Any contact on that could've been enough for a goal.

xGoals
The xGoals value of a club is calculated from the sum of all goal probabilities (goals and shots on goal) of that team. During a match, it’s easy to see whether the club is performing better than expected (goals > xGoals) - or maybe even higher (xGoals > goals).
Bayern have scored some very good goals this afternoon and are good value for their lead, but their xG could make Bochum feel a bit hard done by.

What. A. Strike.

Kingsley Coman take a bow! Davies picks the ball up on the left, deep in the Bochum half. He gives it Coman on the edge of the box, who with one touch moves the ball on to his right foot, before lashing a curled effort towards the top right corner. It flies over Drewes in the goal, clipping the underside of the crossbar on the way in.

Kane makes it three

His goal all but killed the contest. He's since been replaced with Mathys Tel.

Good chance

Bochum nearly have a consolation. Wittek is in acres of space down the left and whips a dangerous ball into the box that Bayern struggle to deal with, but the visitors do just about get it clear.

Substitution

Bayern running away with it

They could've made it five. Kane plays a through-ball from deep in towards Laimer, who's in a good position but can't quite get his shot away before Drewes dives on it.

Sané makes it four!

Bochum give the ball away at the back. Sané pounces on it quickly, slaloming on the edge of the box and releasing a curled left-footed shot into the far corner. What a finish!

Bayern rattled

The Bochum supporters have really raised their support this half, and Bayern are looking a little shaky at the back. If they can capitalise on this good spell, anything could happen in this second half...
55'

Coman goal disallowed

Bayern break quickly. Olise picks it up between the lines and feeds a ball through to Coman, who finishes well but is clearly offside in the build-up.

Half-time: Bochum 0-2 Bayern

Set pieces have been the difference here in Bochum. Despite an early scare from Broschinski, a fantastic direct free-kick from Olise from close range opened the scoring. Bayern proceeded to dominate possession and the chances, doubling their lead after 26 minutes, with a deft flicked header from Musiala, who'll be glad to be back on the scoresheet after his injury. Bochum have a long way back if they want anything from this game.

Bayern break. Musiala plays it through to Coman, whose touch lets him down and takes him wide. He plays it back to Musiala, who tries to rescue it with a spectacular bicycle kick, but it's wide.
40'

Over from Musiala

Another corner. This time it's played deep, finding Musiala on the edge of the box. He shifts the ball onto his right foot, but his shot clears the bar. That was another good chance for him.

Musiala dancing through

The Bavarians will be glad he's back. He picks the ball up at the near post from a Kimmich corner and Bochum gives him far too much space to dribble and fashion a chance. Drewes is equal to the attempt though.

Quickest to react

Musiala made an untracked run to the near post to double Bayern's lead.

Nearly from the corner

Mašovic makes a run to the near post and flicks a header on, which narrowly loops over the far post and goes behind for a goal kick.
23'

So close for Broschinski

Bochum break and Sissoko plays in Broschinski, who cuts onto his right foot and releases a shot which is deflected and narrowly flies across the face of Neuer's goal.
20'

Good combination

Olise is looking sharp today. He dribbles past a couple of Bochum players in midfield, releases Musiala into the box, who cuts back to Olise. His low shot from the edge of the box doesn't really trouble Drewes.
16'

Olise!

A wonderful free-kick from the Frenchman. He just lifts the ball over the wall and guides it into the right side of the goal, beating Drewes without needing to put much power on it.

First yellow card

Passlack prevents Davies from running through down the left with a professional foul, picking up a yellow card in the process.

Hosts growing

That chance has just lifted the home crowd a little and Bochum are looking more confident on the ball. Bayern look a little bit rattled and the contest feels more even than it did in the opening five.
8'

Cleared off the line!

A long ball over the top from Mašovic gives Broschinski a one-on-one. He touches it round Neuer and the ball is headed towards the goal but Kim and Upamecano are covering, and the South Korean can clear off the line. Best chance of the game so far.
8'

Quick feet from Musiala

Bayern play out from the back so slick. Musiala recieves it in the middle and wriggles away from three Bochum players. He's back everyone.
6'

Kimmich takes

Palhinha connects but he can't generate enough power and Drewes can collect.

Kompany on facing Bochum

"We're not going to change the way we prepare for this game because there's a new coach now. We won our last game in the Bundesliga. We will keep trying to win."

Kompany calls for reaction

"We've played against strong opposition, including Frankfurt, Leverkusen and Stuttgart. The foundation for me is that the team show in training that they can learn from these moments. The question is always: Is the foundation there for us to find the right answers in the future? When good players run, fight and play together, they always have a chance. That's why I have absolute confidence in this team."
camera-photo

Kompany on "resounding" loss to Barcelona

"Not everything went wrong, but there were also moments where we were simply not focused. In the first half, we had the feeling that we'd now conceded three goals, which isn't ideal, but we were still dangerous... You have to say that Barcelona were better. It was a resounding defeat."

New boss in Bochum

Bochum parted ways with head coach Peter Zeidler and sporting director Marc Lettau following their 3-1 defeat at Hoffenheim, with Feldhoff (pictured, l.) and Murat Ural (r.) taking over on a temporary basis. First games in charge don't get much tougher than a visit from the record champions.
camera-photo

Markus Feldhoff on facing Bayern

"We have to do what sets us apart. Give Bayern a big fight. There will be a lot of stuff going on around it too. We want to show that we are all standing together here. Bayern Munich is one of the best teams in the world. That's the ultimate. It's great that we can prove ourselves there and compete with these teams in the league."
