Angelino wings his way to Hoffenheim from RB Leipzig
Hoffenheim have moved to fill the void left by David Raum by bringing in Angelino from Raum's new club, RB Leipzig, on a season-long loan.
The Spanish left-back, who has made 68 Bundesliga appearances since joining Leipzig from Manchester City in January 2020 - initally on loan - will wear the No.11 jersey.
"Three weeks ago this wasn't on the cards, but now I'm delighted to be here," said Angelino. "I nearly joined Hoffenheim in January 2020, so it didn't take us long to get acquainted. The talks went really well and only confirmed my perception of the club. I can't wait to help shape the modern, attacking football TSG are all about."
Angelino arrives at the PreZero Arena following a successful 2021/22 campaign at Leipzig, with whom he won the DFB Cup, whilst achieving a top-four Bundesliga finish and reaching the semi-finals of the UEFA Europa League. The ex-Spain youth international has featured 98 times for the club to date, scoring 12 goals and providing 28 assists.
"Angelino is a fantastic footballer, who's long shown his qualities in the Bundesliga and Europe," enthused Hoffenheim sporting director Alexander Rosen. "The fact a player of his level has chose Hoffenheim with such conviction, even though he has his pick of leagues and clubs, is pretty special and is illustrative of our growing reputation."
