Bayer Leverkusen's Arthur joins Werder Bremen on loan
Werder Bremen have signed Bayer Leverkusen full-back Arthur on loan for the duration of the 2026/27 season. The Brazilian is the club's second Deadline Day arrival, with former Schalke man Moussa Ndiaye also joining on loan.
Arthur is no stranger to Bundesliga football, having played 44 times for Leverkusen in the league since joining the club in 2023 from América Mineiro. The 23-year-old also brings international experience to Bremen. After winning the 2023 U20 South American Championship with Brazil, he made his senior debut for the Seleção later that year.
Speaking about the move, Arthur said: "It's an important moment in my career. Werder understood [my desire to play for Brazil again] and showed their confidence in me. I want to get playing time here and demonstrate my quality."

Bremen's head of professional football, Peter Niemeyer, stated: “Arthur is a player who can help us immediately. He knows the Bundesliga and has demonstrated his abilities at the highest level. Therefore, we are delighted that we were able to sign him."
Head coach Daniel Thioune added: "With his quality, he will certainly settle in quickly with us and can immediately become an option for the defence. He is fast and technically skilled, so he can also make an impact in attack."
Arthur could make his Bundesliga debut for Bremen this weekend, when the Green-Whites welcome RB Leipzig to the Weserstadion.
