RB Leipzig's Timo Werner: "We showed a good mentality against Bayern Munich"
RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner rued a missed chance against Bayern Munich, but was satisfied overall with his side's display in the top-of-the-table showdown in Munich on Matchday 21.
bundesliga.com rounds up the post-match thoughts from both camps...
Hansi Flick (interim coach): "I’m OK with the result, it’s fair. I think we were both happy to have kept a clean sheet and to have shared the points."
Joshua Kimmich (midfielder): "I said before the game that I thought we were the clear favourites and I had a really good feeling. That view was underlined in the first half, but if you make mistakes then you allow any team in the Bundesliga back into the game. Leipzig have enough quality to make the most of those mistakes, but fortunately they didn’t score today.”
Thomas Müller (forward): "It was clever and mature that we picked up this point, stayed on top and still have the opportunity to march on in the next few weeks and win games. If we do our jobs then nobody’ll be able to stop us and so we’ve done everything right."

Julian Nagelsmann (head coach): "On the whole I’m satisfied with our performance. We had much the better chances in the second half and could even have won the game. We were brave, defending high up the pitch and had a good grip on the game. When we bring our power out on the pitch then we can compete with Bayern. That’s a good sign for the future. We want to finish in the top four and today was an important point on the way to achieving that.”
Timo Werner (forward): "It seemed like it was only a matter of time before we conceded given the way we played in the first 20 minutes. But we got into the game more in the second part of the first half and showed our true colours after the break. If you want to win in Munich then you need to score chances like the one I had. We kept going after that and showed a good mentality in the second half. We can live with the point."
Watch: Gulacsi: "Our best game so far"
Peter Gulacsi (goalkeeper): “We wanted to stay really compact against Bayern. They have fantastic quality and have scored many goals recently. We wanted to play stable but also be aggressive and use our speed up front. We were able to do that in the second half especially. Maybe a draw is a fair result but this was our best game so far.”
Marcel Halstenberg (defender): “It was difficult to get into the game today. We knew how dominant Bayern are at home. But then we managed to play the game on an emotional level for 75 minutes, which was decisive. At the end of the day we can definitely be happy with the point.”
