Bayern Munich to return to the USA next summer
Bayern Munich have announced that they will return to the USA next summer to take part in the International Champions Cup as part of their Audi Summer Tour.
The record German champions faced Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and Manchester City at last year’s tournament, and while another star-studded tournament awaits, the final details of who Bayern will play will be announced in the club’s website, fcbayern.com, on 27 March.
Bayern’s North American presence has been bolstered over the last year with the signings of USMNT youth internationals Chris Richards and Taylor Booth, as well as Canadian winger Alphonso Davies, who has made a strong impression in the Bundesliga since his winter transfer from Vancouver Whitecaps.
Bayern drew level with Borussia Dortmund at the top of the league last weekend, and will be hopeful of travelling to the US with a seventh consecutive Bundesliga Meisterschale in their trophy cabinet.
