Borussia Dortmund sign Jayden Braaf from Manchester City
Borussia Dortmund have signed Jayden Braaf from Manchester City on a free transfer, the Netherlands youth international winger signing a three-year deal at the Signal Iduna Park.
Capped up to U18 level with the Netherlands, Braaf moved to City from PSV Eindhoven in 2018 as one of the hottest prospects in world football, but he suffered a serious knee injury whilst on loan at Udinese at the end of 2020/21.
"Jayden, whose development we have been following closely for years, has shown in the past that he can be a difference-maker with his pace and talent," said BVB sporting director Sebastian Kehl.
"After more than a year out through injury, he will certainly need time to regain his former strength and fully establish himself in men's football. We want to give him this time and gently introduce him. If Jayden masters the phase ahead of him and stays clear, we have a great talent on board in him."
Dortmund will be hopeful Braaf can make similar impact to Jadon Sancho, who made the same move in 2017 and became a full international - in his case with England - before moving to Manchester United last summer.
City and Dortmund have already done business this summer, with Erling Haaland making the move to the English Premier League after a goal-laden spell at the Signal Iduna Park.
