Eintracht Frankfurt in talks with Manchester City regarding Omar Marmoush transfer
Eintracht Frankfurt are currently in negotiations with Manchester City with regard to a transfer of Omar Marmoush, meaning the 25-year-old was left out of the Eagles' squad for their Matchday 18 encounter with Borussia Dortmund on Friday.
Marmoush enjoyed a sensational first half of the 2024/25 season with Frankfurt, registering 15 goals and nine assists in 17 Bundesliga appearances.
The 25-year-old Egypt international joined the Eagles from Wolfsburg in 2023.
"It's looking like Omar will leave us," Eintracht board member for sport Markus Krösche told broadcaster DAZN after the game. "We're in discussions with Manchester City and it looks very likely that he will leave us in the next few hours or days."
Prior to the match against Dortmund, the club made a statement on their official X (formerly Twitter) account: "Eintracht Frankfurt are currently in talks with another club regarding the transfer of Omar Marmoush. As a result, he is not included in the squad today."
Marmoush took to the pitch after the final whistle and was seen hugging his team-mates and members of the coaching staff, and waving to Frankfurt fans as they chanted his name.
