1.Harry Kane (Bayern Munich), 14 goals

There are prolific strikers, and then there is Kane. The England captain and Bayern strike sensation has netted another 14 goals so far this season to take his astonishing tally of Bundesliga strikes up to 50 in just 45 appearances - becoming the fastest-ever player to reach a half-century of Bundesliga goals in the process. He has bagged another three hat-tricks already this season against Holstein Kiel, VfB Stuttgart and Augsburg. There is only one thing you can possibly say to defenders and goalkeepers who have to face Kane operating at the top of his game in the rest of the campaign - good luck!

2. Omar Marmoush (Eintracht Frankfurt), 13 goals

As sensational as Kane's frenzied scoring pace is, the way Marmoush has pushed him in the race to be top scorer this season is equally remarkable. The Egyptian's 13 strikes by the time of the winter break not only marks his best-ever scoring output for a campaign - he has also set a new record for the most goals ever scored by a Frankfurt player in the opening 12 matches of a season. His inch-perfect free-kick curled into the top corner from 30 yards out in a 3-2 win at Stuttgart on Matchday 10 is the pick of those strikes from a player who has taken his game to a new level.

3. Jonathan Burkardt (Mainz), 10 goals

24-year-old Burkardt is another player to have taken his scoring up a notch this season to become the highest-scoring German player so far in 2024/25. His goals have helped propel Mainz all the way up to fifth in the table - with a 20-yard screamer in a 2-0 win over Hoffenheim on Matchday 12 providing an eye-popping display of his sheer finishing class.

= 4. Patrik Schick (Bayer Leverkusen), Tim Kleindienst ( Borussia Mönchengladbach), Jamal Musiala (Bayern Munich), 9 goals each

This triumvirate may just have sneaked inside the top five of the fiercely contested top scorers' race but their scoring figures have been remarkable in their own right. Schick has, incredibly, scored his nine goals in just five appearances since the start of November - including a four-goal burst in a 5-1 win against Freiburg on Matchday 15. With those goals coming from an xG of just 4.63, he has the best shooting efficiency in the Bundesliga of +4.37.

29-year-old Kleindienst has continued the superb scoring form he showed at Heidenheim last season since joining Gladbach in the summer to also establish himself as an international goalscorer and major contender to lead the line for Germany at the 2026 World Cup.

Watch: Musiala on another level

Musiala is assured of a key role for both Bayern and Germany in the foreseeable future, and has added a clinical finishing touch to his array of talents this term. Nine goals by the winter break puts the 21-year-old well on course to break his previous personal best of 12 in a campaign. Musiala has notably developed a threat in the air to match that from his nimble feet with a series of headed goals in recent months.

= 5.  Florian Wirtz (Leverkusen), Hugo Ekitiké (Eintracht), Ermedin Demirović (Stuttgart), Jens Stage (Werder Bremen), 7 goals each

With the goals flying in, it's no surprise to see so many scoring stars battling for position at the top of the leaderboard. As many as four players are pushing those ahead on seven goals apiece, with Bayer 04 pearl Wirtz among them. Last term's Player of the Season also boasts seven assists, helping propel Xabi Alonso's defending champions back into title contention.

Frankfurt have also been pushing at the upper end of the of the table with French striker Ekitiké forging a fine partnership with teammate Marmoush. Between the pair, they have 30 Bundesliga goal involvements with the former Paris Saint-Germain forward Ekitiké surpassing his goalscoring exploits from last season after the same amount of games (14).

Bosnia and Herzegovina international Demirović, meanwhile, was Augsburg's inspired goal-getter last season and there is no surprise that the Hamburg-born forward has picked up where he left off at the WWK Arena since signing for VfB. Of the sriker's seven goals scored, two have been doubles.

Stage's sensational hat-trick for Bremen in their incredible 4-3 comeback win against Hoffenheim - a game in which the Green-Whites trailed 3-0 - has been added to by four goals in his last five Bundesliga games to help Werder roar up the Bundesliga standings ahead of the winter break.
