Marcin Kaminski scored deep into injury time as Schalke extended their winning run to three matches with victory at Hannover's HDI-Arena.

Simon Terodde became the joint all-time leading scorer in Bundesliga 2 last time out, and was close to snatching the outright record on 10 minutes, heading wide from Thomas Ouwejan's fine cross. Schalke lost Mehmet Can Aydin to injury midway through the first half, but not before the 19-year-old had struck the post with a powerful low effort. The Royal Blues were dominating but Hannover progressively got back into the game, buoyed on by plenty of noisy home support at the HDI-Arena. Lukas Hinterseer had their best opening, but failed to properly connect with an acrobatic overhead kick. Ouwejan and Terodde continued to threaten for the visitors, with the former drawing a smart stop from Ron-Robert Zieler shortly before the break.

Zieler was called in action again early in the second period as Schalke continued to exert serious pressure on their hosts. The six-time Germany international came up with a superb double save to deny Kaminski and Dominick Drexler, although he was later forced off with what looked like a calf problem. The Royal Blues continued to knock on the door, with Terodde heading their 21st attempt of the match just wide of the post. Hannover lost Zieler to injury as Martin Hansen entered the fray for the remaining 12 regulation minutes. The Dane had little to do until the fifth minute of added time when he was picking the ball out of his net following Kaminski's scrambled winner following a corner. The result takes Schalke level on 19 points with the top two, while Hannover remain in the bottom half of the standings.

Paderborn 1-1 Jahn Regensburg
Goals: 0-1 Makridis (2'), 1-1 Pröger (71')

Second-place Regensburg flew out of the traps in their visit to Paderborn on Friday night, with Charalambos Makridis needing less than two minutes to find the back of the net. Makridis rifled in via the inside of the post from the edge of the box to open his account for the season in fine fashion. The visitors would have moved within a point of league leaders St. Pauli with victory but were denied all three points by Kai Pröger's dipping effort from distance that keeps Paderborn just a point behind Regensburg and four off top.

Heidenheim 2-4 St. Pauli
Goals: 1-0 Mohr (4'), 1-1 Burgstaller (55'), 1-2 Dittgen (56'), 1-3 Burgstaller (60'), 1-4 Dittgen (81') 2-4 Kleindienst (85')

The hosts made a flying start as Tobias Mohr pounced to hand Heidenheim a fourth-minute lead but the Bundesliga 2 leaders dramatically turned things around with a three-goal blitzkrieg in just five second half minutes. Guido Burgstaller struck twice either side of Max Dittgen's effort to take a 3-1 lead on the hour, with Dittgen joining his teammate in grabbing a brace by making it 4-1 with less than 10 minutes to play. Tim Kleindienst stirred hopes of a late comeback but it was too little, too late as St. Pauli moved three points clear at the top with their seventh win of the campaign.

Karlsruhe 2-1 Erzgebirge Aue
Goals: 1-0 Schleusener (46'), 2-0 Hofmann (67'), 2-1 Barylla (83')
Red card: Gersbeck (80')

Second half goals from Fabian Schleusener and Philipp Hofmann had Karlsruhe coasting to victory over winless Aue, but the late sending off of Marius Gersbeck gave the away side hope. Anthony Barylla then halved the deficit with seven minutes to play but Aue couldn't find an equaliser and remain bottom of the league on just four points.

Ingolstadt 1-1 Holstein Kiel
Goals: 0-1 Pichler (13'), 1-1 Kutschke (46')

Kiel took a fine early lead as Benedikt Pichler's thumping header met Mikkel Kirkeskov's superb cross from the left and their lead lasted until a minute after the interval. Stefan Kutschke was the man who had the hosts level, his second goal of the season an equally good headed finish from another pinpoint cross from the left. This time it was Marcel Gaus displaying his wand of a left foot to ensure that Ingolstadt ended a run of four defeats on the spin.

Hamburg 1-1 Fortuna Düsseldorf
Goals: 1-0 Glatzel (19’), 1-1 Bozenik (71’)

Hamburg’s efforts to rekindle their promotion efforts suffered a fresh setback on Saturday with a draw at home to 10-man Düsseldorf. Everything appeared to be going well for the hosts early on, with Robert Glatzel scoring his sixth goal of the season to put HSV 1-0 up, before Edgar Prib was sent off for the visitors a short while later. Yet despite playing three-quarters of the match at a numerical disadvantage, Fortuna snatched an equaliser in the second half to take home a share of the points.

Darmstadt 3-0 Werder Bremen
Goals: 1-0 Mai (45'), 2-0 Pfeiffer (65'), 3-0 Pfeiffer (71')

The game exploded into life on the stroke of half-time as Darmstadt captain Fabian Holland let fly a screamer to give the home team the advantage. After a long ball upfield, the ball was eventually cleared to Holland on the left side, allowing him to control the ball on his chest before rocketing a thunderous, swerving half volley into the far corner. Pfeiffer then rammed home the victory as Darmstadt collected all three points in style.

Dresden 0-1 Nuremberg
Goals: 0-1 Krauß (21')

The visitors needed just 21 minutes to put themselves ahead as Tom Krauß snuck in at the far post to volley home Tim Handwerker's cross from the opposite left flank. It was the 20-year-old RB Leipzig loanee's first goal of the campaign and just his third in senior football. Krauß's effort would prove to be the winner as Nuremberg continued to keep pace with their promotion rivals and they remain just four points off top.

Hansa Rostock 0-1 Sandhausen
Goals: 0-1 Sicker (30'), 1-1 Verhoek (54')

Sandhausen took the lead on the half hour mark as Arne Sicker stole in to bundle home at the second attempt, despite a consultation with the video referee who adjudged the 24-year-old winger to be marginally on the correct side of his marker. The referee again had his finger in his ear, consulting his colleagues in front of the monitors five minutes later for a penalty appeal at the other end but Hansa were unsuccessful in their claims. John Verhoek would eventually seal a point for the hosts with his second-half strike.
