"I'm really happen the transfer to Leipzig has gone through," said Szoboszlai, who will wear the No.17 shirt at Leipzig. "The club have made tremendous progress, are among the best teams in the Bundesliga and are causing a real stir in the Champions League.

"The move to Leipzig is perfect for my development because I'm linking up with a top coach and an unbelievably ambitious team that's still very young but has already gained a lot of experience and had a few things to celebrate. I will be able to make big gains in terms of my development here, and obviously want to help the club continue their success into 2021."

Due to transfer regulations, Szoboszlai will be eligible to make his Bundesliga in Leipzig's second game back after the winter break, against Borussia Dortmund, on 9 January.
