ADDED TIME
Three more minutes at the Veltins-Arena...
88'
CORNER
Caliskaner does very well down the right to force a corner, but that comes to nothing. Regensburg still seeing possession but need to create something quick.
86'
FINAL PUSH
Regensburg have found one final wind as they press Schalke back in search of an equaliser. The hosts are struggling to get out but are holding firm.
84'
LIGHTNING TO STRIKE AGAIN?
Schalke have previously come from behind to win at home to Düsseldorf and Sandhausen this season. Will this be a third?
80'
CHURLINOV OFF ALREADY
The forward only came on 18 minutes ago but has been sacrificed as Grammozis looks to shore things up again and defend this lead with Flick now on. The North Macedonian doesn't look too disappointed as he applauds and soaks up applause from the crowd as he makes his way around the pitch.
79'
JAHN REACT
On come Otto and Shipnoski for his debut. Boukhalfa is one of those replaced. He'd struck the bar just moments before Schalke equalised.
75'
A WAKE-UP CALL?
Thiaw had started every game this season before today and not scored. Today he comes off the bench and gets a goal.

BACK ON TOP
Terodde's 15th goal of the season in his 17th appearance. He's back at the top of the standings alongside Guido Burgstaller (Pauli host Paderborn this evening btw). Terodde is aiming to become the first player to be Bundesliga 2 top scorer in four seasons, having done so once before each for Bochum, Cologne and Stuttgart).

BOUKHALFA AGAIN!
Almost a carbon copy of the first goal as no Schalke defender closes down a Regensburg man strolling through the middle. Boukhalfa goes for it from 25 yards out. Fraisl is again beaten and is mighty relieved to hear the ball crash off his crossbar behind him.
61'
REINFORCEMENTS
Hour gone and Grammozis has had enough. Churlinov and Bülter are ready to come on.
60'
BOUKHALFA!
Fraisl is absolutely rooted to the spot as Boukhalfa has a go from the edge of the box and the shot deflects off Kaminski - just inches wide of the post.
56'
PIERINGER...
The forward cuts inside onto his left but it's a tame effort at Meyer.
53'
THIRD BOOKING FOR JAHN
Referee Welz is taking no nonsense today. Wekesser voices his opinion a bit too vehemently and is cautioned.
46'
WE'RE BACK
Another 45 minutes to go in Gelsenkirchen. Both teams resume unchanged. There was just the swap with Ranftl for Vindheim early in the first half.

ADVANTAGE REGENSBURG
Idrizi races up to the referee to remonstrate as half-time is blown. A sign of the frustration Schalke feel after starting so well but going into the break behind after allowing Regensburg into the game.

ADDED TIME
One minute to be played at the end of the first half.
43'
IDRIZI WIDE
An effort from 18 yards by the hosts. It takes a deflection to slice it wide, but the referee doesn't see it and points for a goal-kick.
38'
SANE!
First save Schalke have forced out of Meyer as Sane connects with an Ouwejan corner from the left, but the defender only plants his header at the Jahn goalkeeper.
36'
ENDING THE DROUGHT
Albers was Regensburg's top scorer last season with 13 goals. This was just his third of 2021/22 and his first since the start of October. It was also the first of his 24 Bundesliga 2 goals to be scored from outside the box.

OUWEJAN AGAIN
Another dangerous set piece from the Dutch full-back, again from deep on the right. He fires it into the box, above all his teammates, but it bounces awkwardly in front of Meyer, who does well to collect.
30'
THREE STRIKES
Gimber slides in on Zalazar and catches the Uruguayan. Referee Welz signals it was the third offence as he shows the Regensburg captain his seventh yellow of the season.
25'
GOOD FEET FROM BOUKHALFA
The Jahn forward comes in off the left wing with a couple of tidy touches and tries to find the bottom corner but drags wide.

JAHN COME FORWARD...
First attack of note we've seen for some time from Regensburg. Singh crosses from the left, Albers meets it with his head put only puts it against his marker Kaminski. The visitors cry penalty, but nothing in that.
15'
CROSSBAR!
Ouwejan is out on the right to deliver a free-kick from very wide and a good 25-30 yards out . It looks an intentional shot as he sends it in high and long with power. Jahn keeper Meyer is all at sea after initially coming out thinking it was a catch but is relieved to hear the ball bounce off his crossbar behind him.
14'
LEADER GIMBER
The Regensburg captain is trying to set the tone for his side with a couple of robust challenges. Referee Welz tells him not to talk his way into any more trouble.
11'
OUWEJAN AGAIN
Another dangerous cross from the left wing-back. Cut out at the near post on the slide by Breitkreuz.
8'
EARLY CHANGE
Vindheim slipped off the pitch without many people even realising after a 50-50 challenge. The new signing, who got a goal and assist on debut last matchday, won't be able to continue as Ranftl is sent on in his place.
6'
OUWEJAN CROSSES
He's always a threat down that left side and swings a dangerous cross into the six-yard box. Terodde is the target and he so nearly gets there. Elvedi does get a touch to put the ball behind, but only narrowly avoiding his own goal.
3'
WELCOME BACK
A chant of "Schalke 04" goes back and forth across the Veltins-Arena as fans finally make their return again.
1'
IMMEDIATE CHANCE
Faber is played in down the left. He's not got an angle to shoot so waits before trying to play the ball across goal, but Fraisl reads his intentions well and throws himself at the attempted cross at his near post.

WATCH: REGENSBURG 4-1 SCHALKE
REGENSBURG TEAM NEWS
As for Mersad Selimbegovic, he brings in two new faces from the 2-1 home defeat to Kiel in Bayern Munich-owned Sarpreet Singh and Jan Elvedi – twin brother of Gladbach’s Nico. Benedikt Saller and Scott Kennedy – who scored in the last game – are the two to make way in defence with the former suspended and the latter having just returned from international duty with Canada.
SCHALKE TEAM NEWS
Dimitrios Grammozis makes just one change from the team that thrashed Aue 5-0 a fortnight ago as Marcin Kaminski replaces Malick Thiaw in the back three. The front two of Simon Terodde and Marvin Pieringer, who both scored that day, continue up top, while new signing Andreas Vindheim – another scored that day on his maiden start – also keeps his place. Club captain Danny Latza bagged a brace from the bench but isn’t included today.
