Schalke celebrate

That's it ! Simon Terodde's double has taken Schalke up to provisional third in the standings. The visitors weren't at their best while Dynamo will feel they deserved a point but Die Knappen can head back to Gelsenkirchen happy in the knowledge they are well in the fight for automatic promotion.

Tick tock

Time is almost up. Can Dynamo manage one last push and take a point here or will Schalke hold on to take all three? A tense finish awaits.

Omen?

Dynamo have failed to pick up a point whenever trailing by 2-0 this season while Schalke have never dropped points from having held a two-goal lead.
84'

Lode makes way

Some handbags on the touchline as Lode takes his time while assessing himself for an injury. Dynamo's subs lose their patience with the Schalke man, who is subsequently subbed off.

Terodde the man

He now leads the way on top of the 2. Bundesliga scoring charts with 21 goals but will Simon Terodde's double be enough to see Schalke home here?
77'

Büskens watching closely

Schalke coach Mike Büskens is prowling his touchline and looking slightly worried as he studies his team. The visitors seemed set fair for three points not so long ago. Will's goal has raised the prospects of a Dynamo comeback, however.

Almost Dynamo

Löwe's cross reaches Calhanoglu who tries to control but inadvertently pops the ball towards his own goal. Fraisl rescues Schalke.
72'

Will fires Dynamo

Paul Will makes some amends for conceding that first-half penalty by heading in a whipping free kick from the left. Dynamo are right back in this.

Churlinov tester

Schalke sub Churlinov pounds his way down the left and unleashes a shot that strikes the side-netting. Broll likely had that covered.
65'

Dynamo narrowly off target.

Meier battles his way into some space and sends a rising shot from the edge of the area over the top. Good effort.
63'

Latza replaced

A decent shift from Danny Latza who makes way - sweat gleaming on his forehead - for Churlinov.
59'

Almost another for Schalke

Itakura lifts a tasty pass in for Ouwejan who heads off target. The visitors are looking to wrap this one up and leave with maximum points.

Home fans go quiet

It's been tough on the Dynamo fans who were bouncing during a highly promising first half for their team. Those Schalke goals either side of the break have left the Black-and-Yellow supporters in stunned silence, however.

A nod to Terodde

Five of Terodde's last six goals have been headers.

Terodde at the double

Drexler whips a wonderful cross in from the right and an unmarked Terodde flicks a brilliant header high and into the far corner. Schalke's fans go wild.

Schalke menacing

Schalke look like they're in with Bülter getting to the endline and cutting back for Terodde. Looks like Bülter may have just taken that one out of play before passing, though, so play would have been brought back had Terodde made anything of the chance.
46'

Away we go

Dynamo get us back underway. How will the hosts respond to going behind late in that first half and can Schalke build on their lead? We're all set to find out.

Plenty to ponder

Die Schwarzgelben go in at the break a goal behind. Plenty of positives for Guerino Capretti to use in his half-time team talk but that late goal will have served to give Schalke a lift. A fascinating second half awaits.

Dynamo anger

Dynamo will be furious. They have dominated this first half but after trying to play out from the back, gave up possession cheaply and that led to Terodde being downed inside the box.

No mistake from Terodde

Terodde strolls up and rolls his penalty to the right, sending Broll the wrong way. The visitors lead.

Dynamo pressure

The hosts have been piling on the pressure but just can't find a way through here. Meier is the latest to slam one at goal but Lode is there to get his body in the way.
37'

Yellow for Schalke

Drexler floors Akoto and goes into the referee's notebook.

Solid Schalke support

There are 3,000 Schalke fans inside the stadium and although they haven't had a huge amount to cheer thus far, the visiting supporters are continuing to make plenty of noise as they get behind the Royal Blues.

Intense encounter

Dynamo have definitely edged this one and had the better of the chances thus far, but with Schalke looking menacing on the break, it's impossible to predict how this game might go.
26'

Dynamo hit the woodwork

Will let's fly from outside the box and after his effort takes a slight deflection, it looks in as soon as it passes the outstretched hand of Fraisl. The post comes to Schalke's rescue.
19'

Dynamo booking

Will is shown a yellow card after bringing down the flying Bülter out on the left wing.
19'

Terodde has a sniff

Latza feeds Terodde who sends one at goal from the edge of the box. Broll saves with ease. Better from Schalke, though, with the visitors finally getting forward.
13'

Schalke mistake

A slip from Lode inside the area and Meier pounces. The Dynamo forward rushes things a little, however, and hits a cross straight into the arms of a grateful Fraisl.
9'

First glance at goal for Die Knappen

Schalke's captain tests his range from distance but Broll is having none of that and the 'keeper gets down to hold on with ease.
8'

Drchal involved

His back to goal, Drchal controls with the chest inside the Schalke area but there are no runners to pick out and the chance is gone.
2'

First chance Dynamo

Akoto smashes a half volley at the target from distance that zips over the top. Decent start by Dynamo, who have been bossing the ball thus far.

Onus on Drchal

A big night for Czech striker, Vaclav Drchal, who is making just his ninth appearance for Dynamo this evening. The 22-year-old has yet to find the net for the Saxony-based side.

Schalke team news

Schalke make three changes to the side that downed Hannover last time out. The visitors' No. 10, Rodrigo Zalazar, misses out with a foot injury while Victor Palsson and Kerim Calhanoglu are also out of contention. Thomas Ouwejan, Danny Latza and Marcin Kaminski come in.

Dynamo team news

Dresden must do without forward Christoph Daferner for this one, with Vaclav Drchal coming in in the forward's stead. Brandon Borello and Patrick Weihrauch also miss out for the hosts.

Schalke subs

Fährmann, Sane, Matriciani, Palsson, Churlinov, Kyerewaa, Idrizi, Mikhailov, Calhanoglu

Schalke Starting XI

Fraisl - Thiaw, Itakura, Kaminski - Lode, Latza, Flick, Ouwejan - Drexler - Terodde, Bülter

Dresden Starting XI

All to play for

A win for Dynamo tonight would see last season's third-tier champions leapfrog Sandhausen in 15th and join Hannover on 31 points. Should the Royal Blues prevail, however, then they would go above Darmstadt and into third with 50 points on the board.

Büskens calls for cool heads

Schalke interim coach, Mike Büskens, has also been having his say on what his players can expect at the home of Dynamo. “Any footballer that has already played there knows about the atmosphere," he said. "The fans will cheer on their team for the whole 90 minutes [so] we have to be calm on the ball and not allow ourselves to be influenced by the atmosphere.”

Big atmosphere expected

An expected full house at the Rudolf-Harbig-Stadion tonight is creating plenty of buzz among fans, players and coaches alike. "I'm really excited and can't wait to see the spirit and support from the fans," said Dynamo coach Guerino Capretti. "It's the perfect setting and I couldn't imagine anything better for the game on Friday," the tactician added.

Excitement in store

Welcome to this evening's mouthwatering second-tier game that holds plenty of interest at both ends of the table. Dynamo Dresden - third from bottom in the standings - are seeking what would be a first win in eleven games while fourth-placed Schalke have automatic promotion on their minds.
