Jubilation at the final whistle. Pauli go top of the table after beating city rivals Hamburg, thanks in no small part to Simon Makienok's quick-fire double. What a game!

DERBY LIKE THEIR DREAMS
The Pauli fans are making their voices heard to the tune of Boy George's Karma Chameleon. Meanwhile, Rico Benatelli and Christian Viet enter the fray in place of industrious duo Finn Becker and Daniel-Kofi Kyereh.

TIRED LEGS
Pauli get in behind the Hamburg defence, but the final poor lacks power and precision. Heuer Fernandes gathers, with the aid of a tame deflection.
84'
COBWEBS
Dzwigala's first contribution is a foul on Reis. Luckily for him, the ensuing free-kick comes to nothing.
83'
FRESH LEGS
Adam Dzwigala, who become a father earlier in the week, replaces Luca Zander. Pauli are being stretched in the full-back areas - that's a sound piece of thinking by Timo Schultz.
77'
GLATZEL!!!!
Hamburg reduce the arrears! Sebastian Schonlau finds Robert Glatzel, who steers an effort with the inside of his boot past the despairing dive of Vasilj, who gets fingertips to the effort, but can't keep it out. Hold onto your hats, folks...
76'
MAN DOWN
Jan Gyamerah goes down after an aerial challenge with Buchtmann. He receives treatment on the pitch, but can't continue. Josha Vagnoman is his replacement.
71'
THIN ICE
Tim Walter's taking no chances with Kinsombi, whose head seems to have gone. Maximilian Rohr is on for the final 19 minutes or so.

TOP DOGS
As things stand, Pauli are going top of Bundesliga 2.

WILD!
Kinsombi catches Kyereh very late, drawing jeers from the Pauli faithful. That could easily have been a red.
65'
STANDING OVATION
Some shift from Makienok - he makes way to rapturous applause. Eric Smith also gets the hook, with Christopher Buchtmann and Afeez Aremu joining the action for Pauli.
62'
DOUBLE CHANGE
Tim Walter responds with an attack-minded change. Mikkel Kaufmann and Anssi Suhuonen are on for the visitors.
59'
MAKIENOK AT THE DOUBLE!
Blur's anthemic Song 2 plays out around the Millerntor, which can only mean one thing - another Pauli goal. Jakov Medic picks the pockets of Glatzel in midfield, and only has eyes for Makienok. He holds his nerve, firing home his second of the contest.
57'
ST. PAULI RETAKE THE LEAD!
Consider that the storm weathered. Finn Becker threads an eye-of-the-needle pass out to the left-hand side, where Simon Makienok still has it all to do. He stands up Jonas David, feinting to go inside, only to take him on the outside and fire under Heuer Fernandes.
48'
DENIED
Glatzel again for HSV, but his shot from 14 yards is charged down.
46'
EARLY WARNING
HSV are straight on the offensive as Robert Glatzel glances a header harmlessly wide. The visitors are looking lively after that leveller late in the first half.

BACK AT IT
No changes after a very punk-rock half-time interval at the Millerntor. Hats off to the in-house DJ.

HAMBURG ARE LEVEL!
So harsh on St. Pauli. David Kinsombi sends Bakery Jatta away - he's been on the prowl all evening - and this time the cross strikes gold. Sonny Kittel can't miss from close range. There's a quick review for a possible offside, but the goal stands. Game on!

BURGSTALLER!
Guido Burgstaller goes close to a second Pauli goal. The big striker bursts in off the left, exchanging passes with Hartel, before drawing a full-stretch save out of Heuer Fernandes.

END PRODUCT
Hamburg get in behind again, but the final ball leaves a lot to be desired. It's meat and drink for Vasilj.
36'
ELSEWHERE
Schalke have taken the lead against Erzgebirge Aue in tonight's other fixture - Dominick Drexler with the goal.
33'
SAFE HANDS
Kyereh misplaces a pass straight to Jatta. He barrels past a clutch of brown shirts, but his low cross is smothered at his front post by Nikola Vasilj.
28'
PAULI LEAD!
The Millerntor erupts! Guido Burgstaller shows a quite brilliant piece of control on the left-hand side of the Hamburg box, before spinning his man and finding Daniel Kyereh. The Austrian continues his run and retakes possession. One inch-perfect pass in at the feet of Finn Becker later, and the home side lead. Superb team goal!
26'
HARTEL FROM RANGE
Dipping and curling, Hartel sends his long-range effort onto the roof of the net. What a difference he's going to make to Pauli's season!
24'
MAKIENOK AGAIN!
Roared on by the partisan home crowd, Makienok rises unchallenged in the box to meet an inviting cross. His header sails narrowly wide of the left-hand post, though.
22'
POST!
The Pauli fans are on their feet as a ball is squeezed into the path of Simon Makienok. He hits it first time from inside the box, but it strikes the foot of the far post and goes behind with Heuer Fernandes glued to the spot.
19'
END-TO-END STUFF
Balls into the box from out wide are the order of the day. We've just had another Jatta special floated towards the St. Pauli back post earn a corner. The Kiezkicker responded with a rapid breakaway, with Hartel and Burgstaller combining in the HSV box. The eventual cut-back into the six-yard box found a Hamburg shirt first, though.
15'
CHANCE
Hamburg return fire as a ball is played up to Bakery Jatta. He works his way into the box, though the angle is too tight for a shot. His cross is deflected, and very nearly goes in off a Pauli shirt. Superb entertainment in these early stages.
13'
RESPITE
St. Pauli break, making in-roads up the Hamburg left. The cross comes in, but it's too close to Heuer Fernandes.

HAMBURG SPELL
The Dinos have settled after that early onslaught. They're moving the ball with confidence and finding joy in the attacking wide areas.

ONE-WAY TRAFFIC
The home side win a free-kick out on the right-hand side, in HSV territory. Hamburg only half clear, and it takes a very fortuitous block in front of the diving Daniel Heuer Fernandes to deny Marcel Hartel a rocket of a debut goal.

UNBEATEN
Those aforementioned cup wins mean Pauli and Hamburg are unbeaten in three competitive matches so far this season. The Kiezkicker recorded a 3-0 home win over Holstein Kiel and goalless draw at Erzgebirge Aue in their first two league games. Hamburg beat Schalke and drew with Dynamo Dresden. If we have a winner today, they'll be going top overnight.

There are 9,292 fans in Pauli's corner compared to 700 in the away section. The place is bouncing!

Former Bayern Munich youngster Manuel Winztheimer drops to the bench. As for St. Pauli, Nikola Vasilj returns in goal after being rested in the 3-2 cup win at Magdeburg. DIFFERENT WORLDS
So what makes St. Pauli and HSV so different? Pauli are an alternative club. Skull and crossbones adorn their flags, and their home kit is all-brown. They're also known for their anti-racist, anti-fascist and anti-homophobic principles - and have only seven seasons of Bundesliga football behind them. Until three years ago, city rivals Hamburg were the German top flight's only ever-present founding member. What's more, the Dinos have won the Bundesliga three times, and even lifted the 1982/83 European Cup.
ALMOST 100-YEARS-OLD
Last season produced a 2-2 draw and a 1-0 Pauli home win that has definitely seen the tide around Europe’s third largest port change. The Kiezkicker have now lost only one of the last eight meetings, with that 2-2 tie the only time HSV have scored a derby goal at home since December 2001. Die Rothosen still lead the head-to-head record by some considerable margin, but there is now an on- and off-field edge to a city derby first played out way back on 19 October 1924.
