RUN COMING TO AN END?
Before today, Hamburg were on an eight-game winning run away from home in Bundesliga 2, a streak no team had ever previously achieved in the league's history. Barring a dramatic turnaround, it looks like that's coming to an end today.

THIRD OF THE SEASON
Hartel's goal was his third of the current campaign, a new single-season personal best for the midfielder. He also set up his team's opener, meaning he has been directly involved in seven goals this season, more than any other Pauli player.
75'
PAULI DOUBLE THEIR LEAD!
Aremu opens up the pitch with a brilliant pass from deep, pinging the ball out wide on the right. It's crossed into the middle and while Matanovic miscues his shot, Hartel arrives behind him to slot in from 10 yards!
73'
PAULI COUNTER
The hosts break forward at pace with three players bearing down on two defenders. However, Matanovic's pass to his right towards Irvine isn't precise enough and allows a defender to block his shot.
72'
CHANGE UP TOP
Amenyido is unable to continue, so he's replaced by Daschner up front.
71'
BREAK IN PLAY
Pauli forward Amenyido receives treatment on his leg after going down in a challenge.

ATTACKING CHANGE
On comes Dompe for Benes as HSV boss Tim Walter refuses to give up. There's still just one goal in it - can the winger produce a moment of magic to get is side back in the game?
64'
KÖNIGSDÖRFFER RESPONDS
HSV have their first shot on goal in a while but Königsdörffer's low effort towards the near post is no trouble for Vasilj.
63'
FIRST FOR SMITH
It's the Swedish midfielder's first Bundesliga 2 goal, coming in his 32nd league appearance. What a time to break your duck!
61'
AND THERE IT IS!
A corner from the right is swung deep into the box, where Smith rises above Heyer to guide a header in at the back post!

PENALTY APPEAL
Königsdörffer goes down in the Pauli box under a challenge from Medic and appeals for a penalty. Referee Aytekin was well placed and had a good look at the challenge and decides to play on.
54'
WIDE FROM PAQARADA!
The left-back storms forward down the left and, as he arrives into the box, receives a pass which he strikes first time. It fizzes across goal and has Heuer Fernandes worried enough that he dives full stretch, but the ball whistles wide of the far post.

TACTICS, TACTICS
Perhaps a way HSV a hoping to salvage something from this game? A niggly foul here, a player staying down on the pitch there, all with the aim of preventing Pauli from building up a head of steam.

HARTEL BLOCKED
Pauli piling on the pressure early in this half as they look to assert their authority. The ball is worked from right to left before it comes to Hartel, whose first-time strike is blocked.

UNFAMILIAR ROLE FOR PAULI
The is the first time since March 2021 - incidentally also against HSV - that Pauli have had a numerical advantage against 10 men. Hamburg have now had more players sent off this term than any other Bundesliga 2 side (Königsdörffer and Opoku have also seen red).

HSV FIGHTING
They may be down to 10 men but you can't really notice at the moment. HSV aren't just sitting back - they're pushing forward and still pressing Pauli, hounding them in midfield. They likely won't be able to sustain such an energy sapping approach for long though...

EARLIEST SENDING OFF THIS SEASON
No player has been sent off in Bundesliga 2 at an earlier standpoint this term. It's Schonlau's first ever straight red, although he was dismissed for two yellow cards against Bremen in September 2021.

HSV DOWN TO 10
It's a straight red card for Schonlau for a professional foul on Amenyido, shoving him in the back as the last man with the striker clean through on goal!

IRVINE ALMOST IN!
The Pauli midfielder challenges Heuer Fernandes for a high ball and gets a fist to the face for his efforts - he was so close to nodding the ball in though!

WIDE FROM GLATZEL!
A first chance for the league's top scorer as a free-kick from wide on the left is flicked on at the near post. Glatzel throws himself at it at the back post - team-mate Heyer was better placed to poke it in - but Glatzel gets there first and heads wide.

HUGE SAVE FROM HEUER FERNANDES!
That looked like being the opener for Pauli as they carved open the visiting defence. Irvine played the ball out to the right to Smith, who picked out Amenyido with a clever cut-back. He strikes it first time at goal but Heuer Fernandes produces a stunning stop to keep it out!
12'
SUPERB FROM REIS
The HSV midfielder strides forward, dancing past a couple of challenges before getting a shot away from the edge of the box. He catches it well and it's heading for the bottom corner, but Vasilj gets down well to prod clear with his fingertips.

AS YOU'D EXPECT
It's fast, it's frenetic, it's noisy. Both teams are still trying to settle into a rhythm but it's already got all the makings of a cracking game.

TEAM NEWS - PAULI
The home side have made two changes as well. Leart Paqarada returns to the starting line-up at left-back in place of Lars Ritzka following a two-game absence, while fellow defender David Nemeth is sidelined with injury meaning Adam Dzwigala comes in at centre-back. The latter may well be a good omen: his only two previous starts this season ended with a win over Nuremberg and a draw at Hannover.
TEAM NEWS - HSV
The return of first-choice goalkeeper Daniel Heuer Fernandes is a big boost for the visitors. He is one of two changes made by head coach Tim Walter, who has opted to give Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer his first start since Matchday 5, with playmaker Sonny Kittel rested and on the bench. He is joined there by winger Jean-Luc Dompe, who has recovered from injury and is a handy option to have should the team need a goal.
ADVANTAGE PAULI?
This will be just the ninth time these teams have met in Bundesliga 2. Of the previous eight, Pauli have taken maximum spoils four times - including their last three on home turf - while there have been two draw and HSV triumphs. The fixture has averaged 2.6 goals per game across those eight prior encounters.

HSV'S "FLAMING HEART"
There was no questioning Tim Walter's passion ahead of the Stadtderby, with the Hamburg coach saying, "We want an away win at home in Hamburg. I expect a hot, heated duel - both in the stands and on the pitch, and that's nice, because rivalry is part of sport. We want to act with a flaming heart and a cool head."
