Victory for Kaiserslautern
And there we have it. What a hammer blow to Hannover and their promotion hopes. Kaiserslautern go up to fourth place and now look rather well-placed for a long-awaited top-flight return. Whilst Hannover remain in the mix, they have now lost all six games against this season's current top five (Darmstadt, Heidenheim, HSV, Lautern, Paderborn). Kaiserslautern restart their season in style!

Game, set, and match
As the Hannover bodies pile forward in search of an equaliser, Kaiserslautern instead go up the other end and score themselves! It's Phillip Hercher who pounces on a sloppy pass, and with the Hannover players all in the Kaiserslautern half, Hercher has a clean run on goal, before dispatching beautifully into the bottom right-hand corner. 3-1 and game over.

Golden opportunity for Hannover!
Maximilian Beier thinks the ball is falling perfectly into his path ready to prod home and equalise for the hosts. But the Kaiserslautern defender gets a slight nick on the ball, taking it away from the Hannover substitute. Could he have stretched a little more for it? Perhaps. But it's another Hannover chance that goes begging. Time running out now for the hosts.

Chance for Hannover
Havard Nielsen manages to fashion a chance after somehow eeking the ball past the Kaiserslautern defence. Squaring up on goal, the Norweigan can only flash his shot wide.
80'
Hannover feeling the pressure
Hannover are still edging their visitors on the possession stats. But that is not at all what matters. The hosts are beginning to look a little desperate now, attempting long-range efforts with little chance of scoring. Kaiserslautern will certainly be content with that as they now seek to close this game out.

Flipped on its head!
Two second half goals from the visitors has well and truly changed the complexion of this game. 1-0 down at the break, whatever was said at half-time has proved fruitful. Now the pressure is all on Hannover to come out and ensure they avoid a disappointing home defeat at the season resumption.
74'
Arduous encounter
Hannover have responded well to going behind, but it's still Kaiserslautern who are on the front foot, probing, and ultimately looking the more likely to score.

Goal for Kaiserslautern!
Hendrick Zuck delivers an absolute beauty with his left-foot from the left-hand side of the pitch, and Terrence Boyd provides a superb finish to match. Zuck swings the ball in putting it on a sixpence for the ruthless striker, before Boyd pulls away from his man and records his ninth of the season. That's a wonderful goal from Kaiserslautern and they've flipped this game completely on its head!

Set-piece threat
That's now the second game running that Kaiserslautern have gone a goal behind and equalised with a header. In Düsseldorf before the winter break, not only did the equaliser come shortly after half time, but it also came from a corner (Kraus was the goalscorer). Uncanny.

Level pegging
With Kaiserslautern having equalised early into the second period, the game now stands on a knife edge. There's still just under 40 minutes to go. It's anyone's guess at this point how things will end up.

Goal for Kaiserslautern!
It's another set-piece goal for Kaiserslautern! Boris Tomiak flicks on a corner and Julian Niehues heads home from close range! The visitors have levelled things up early in the second half.

Hannover lead at the break
It's the hosts who lead at the break after Derrick Köhn's fine effort broke the deadlock. No goals since then, but the second half promises plenty.

Searching for an equaliser
Kaiserslautern are certainly looking for that equaliser before half time. Some intricate attacking play pins back the Hannover defence, but the visitors are currently unable to convert the pressure into genuine chances.

Kunze in the book
Fabian Kunze enters the book as he picks up the game's first yellow card for a mistimed tackle. That's his ninth yellow card this season - no other player in the Bundesliga 2 has picked up so many.

Quiet spell
The game has fizzled out slightly as both sides revert to regular exchanges of possession. With ten minutes left to go in the first half, will Kaiserslautern find an equaliser or will Hannover extend their lead? Currently, neither looks particularly likely. The crowd has audibly deflated too.

Chance for Hannover
Max Besuschkow does brilliantly down the left flank, before noticing Cedric Teuchert waiting in acres of space in a more central position. The former plays the ball exquisitely into the latter, but after taking a soft touch, Teuchert bends the ball wide of the right-hand post.

Mentality monsters
Despite conceding an early goal, falling behind is unlikely to affect Kaiserslautern too much. Tonight's visitors have already scored in eight games this season after going behind. Whilst that doesn't reflect on them entirely well defensively, you can never write them off.

Chance for Kaiserslautern
Hendrick Zuck produces a thunderbolt of an effort after receiving the ball on the edge of the box. He misses the target completely in what was a great opportunity to test Hannover goalkeeper Ron-Robert Zieler.
21'
Deadly Derrick
Derrick Köhn fires his side into the lead after netting just his second goal of the season. His first came on Matchday 2 at home against St. Pauli at the end of July.
17'
Goal for Hannover!
After a scrappy clearance from the Lautern defence, the ball falls kindly into the feet of Derrick Köhn. But he still has plenty of work to do. He dribbles nicely on the edge of the box, jinking into a fine position, before firing a firm left-footed strike back across goal. Andreas Luthe gets a touch, but he cannot stop Hannover from taking the lead!
14'
Evenly matched
After a strong opening spell from the visitors, it's the hosts who have successfully wrestled back the power of this match. They are the side that look in control, though Kaiserslautern also look relatively stable at this stage.

Opening stages
It's the visitors who have started the brightest, heavily dominating the possession statistics whilst simultaneously registering the game's first shot. But Hannover are just beginning to establish a foothold of their own.

More on the teams - Hannover
In addition to Neumann, Luka Krajnc (for the first time since Matchday 11) and 18-year-old Nicolo Tresoldi (for the first time since Matchday 10) come into the starting line-up. Arrey-Mbi, Beier, and Dehm drop to the bench.
More on the teams - Hannover
Phil Neumann was shown a red card in Darmstadt on Matchday 15, and was thus given a two-match suspension. Having served his sentence, the Hannover goalkeeper returns to the starting line-up this evening.
More on the teams - Kaiserslautern
Kaiserslautern make five changes in total from their last game before the winter break. Mike Wunderlich and Hikmet Ciftci, who started in the win in Düsseldorf, are not available this evening, while Dominik Schad is only a substitute. Kraus, Niehues, Zuck, Hanslik and Opoku all come into the fold, with the latter only making his second start for the club.
More on the teams - Kaiserslautern
The biggest surprise of the Kaiserslautern line-up is that Marlon Ritter misses out. Though he retains a place on the bench, Ritter has started every game this season for his side, although has only recently recovered from an injury over the winter break. World champion Erik Durm is also on the bench tonight for the first time (he has only missed one game so far due to suspension).

Race for promotion
Both sides have the chance to thrust themselves firmly into the promotion mix as victory tonight for either team would mean they climb into fourth position. Hannover currently sit in seventh place, whilst this evening's visitors Kaiserslautern are sixth. This is therefore a huge game in the promotion race, particularly as we start the second half of the season and near the business end.
Welcome along!
Good evening and a very warm welcome to our coverage of tonight's Bundesliga 2 encounter between Hannover 96 and FC Kaiserslautern!
