Kees van Wonderen on Jahn
"We expect an organised team and that we will have more possession. We need to play with pace and get in behind Regensburg's defensive line."
Andreas Patz on Schalke
"Joy and enthusiasm play a big role when you get to play at Schalke in their stadium and in front of that crowd; it's something special. Nevertheless, we're not going there as tourists. We want to take something from the match. The focus is on us, on what we want to do and on being well-prepared for the game."
Seguin's form vs. Jahn
Paul Seguin played six times in Bundesliga 2 against Regensburg and won all six matches. One of them with Dynamo Dresden and five with Greuther Fürth.
Cup excitement
Apart from the aforementioned Bundesliga 2 games, there were also a couple of DFB Cup matches between Regensburg and Schalke. In the first round in 1954, the clubs initially drew 1-1, with Schalke winning the replay 6-4 (on 1 September 1954) after leading 3-0 and then trailing 3-4.
What's rare is wonderful
Schalke and Regensburg only previously faced each other in the league in the 2021/22 season. In their Bundesliga 2 fixtures back then, both matches resulted in home wins (4-1 for Jahn, 2-1 for Schalke).
