Schalke are pinning the hosts back in their attacking third. Much of the play is going through Younes and Karaman in the centre, but it just won't quite fall for the latter. First, he dribbles into trouble, and shortly after the captain plays a misplaced pass. However, Schalke are now well and truly in the match.

Bouncing back
Schalke on the other hand, will be looking for a turnaround from their last outing in which they lost 3-1 to Cologne. A positive start to the season saw them beat Braunschweig 5-1 on the opening matchday, but with two losses and a draw since, they haven't quite been able to recapture that spark in recent weeks. They will be hoping to bounce back today.

Karlsruhe come into this home fixture a team in form. Sat at second in the table, having taken 10 points from their opening four games, they will be looking to maintain their unbeaten start to this campaign against a Schalke side that hasn't quite got going yet this season.
