Bayern move joint top!
File that win under the "hard-fought" category for Bayern as they move level on points with league leaders Dortmund. It wasn't pretty, but Kovac's side ground it out with Javi Matinez scoring the only goal of the game. Having beaten them on Matchday 6 and pushed them to extra-time in the cup, Hertha can take pride in once again making life difficult for Bayern. Unfortunately they can have few complaints with the result having only had one shot on target.

DUDA...
The ball falls to Hertha's top scorer on the edge of the area. He takes a touch before curling an effort at goal that doesn't have enough pace to trouble Neuer. That was Hertha's first shot on target of the game.

Just wide
Hertha finally fashion a chance as Selke and Kimmich battle for a cross into the box. The lanky German striker has the height advantage, but can't hit the target with his header.

Close to a second!
Alaba's free-kick is well saved by Jarstein, but with the ball loose in the box, Müller can only fire wide on the follow up.
85'
Down to 10 men
Life just got a lot harder for Hertha Berlin as Rekik is sent off for a clash with Lewandowski.
80'
Comeback kings?
Hertha have come from behind to pick up points five times this season... can they do it again in Munich? It doesn't look likely with Bayern conceding nothing at the back.
78'
Fun fact: Bayern using their heads
Javi Martinez's goal is the 11th header scored by Bayern this season, which is a league leading statistic. The next closest side are Freiburg with eight.
76'
Pressure of another kind mounting
Needing an equaliser, Hertha are starting to open up a little. The problem is they're still yet to have a shot on target.
76'
Over the bar!
With Hertha backing off, space opens up for Thiago to fire at goal from range. The Spaniard fails to hit the target though.
75'
Bayern taking no risks
Having used all three substitutes, Bayern have taken the sting out of this game and dropped the pace.
71'
Top of the table... not quite!
As things stand Bayern will go level on points with Dortmunda thte top of the Bundesliga. Their inferior goal difference is the only thing holding them in second place.
65'
Doesn't look good for Coman!
Bad news for Bayern. It looks like Coman has picked up an injury. The Frenchman was trying to take on Lazaro, there wasn't any contact, but he's pulled up lame.
62'
JAAAAVVVVVIIII!
There was a corner in the first half that Hertha didn't track Martinez and I said they couldn't afford to do it twice. I was right. It wasn't a free header, but no one followed his run as the Spaniard notches his first goal of the season.
61'
Bad day at the office for Franck
Like Goretzka before him, Ribery didn't have a hand in a single shot on goal and won just 41% of his challenges. Even his combination play with Alaba wasn't coming off today.
58'
A rareity for Bayern!
It's not often you see Bayern make two changes before the hour mark in a game, but that's what they've been forced to do today.
54'
Hope for Hertha?
Hertha have had just three shots all game, none of which have been on target, but it's worth noting that Bayern haven't kept a league clean sheet since the turn of the year.
52'
Pigeons paradise
There are a few pigeons wreaking havoc in the Allianz Arena. They seem intent on munching on whatever is on the pitch, but they're getting a front row seat to the action. Hopefully they don't get too close.
50'
Bayern chasing Borussia
Don't forget, Bayern can go top over night with a win over Hertha so they're not short of motivation.
48'
Goretzka brought off
Back in the starting line-up, it wasn't Goretzka's day. He didn't have a hand in a single shot on goal and won just 44% of his challenges.
47'
Early pressure
Bayern have started firmly on the front foot in the second half and are looking for an early goal. Kimmich can't get to a corss at the back post before his corner is cleared witha hint of panic in Hrrtha's ranks.

Goalless at the break!
Hertha have done to Bayern in the first half, what Bayern did to Liverpool in the Champions League in midweek. Pal Dardai's side have made good on their promise of taking the game to their hosts, they just need to carve out a few more chances. Bayern will be feeling frustrated heading in at half-time.
42'
Kalou vs Alaba!
A long ball forward sees the two tangle in a one-on-one situation, Alaba has the pace, but a cheeky touch for Kalou would have seen him break through had he not lost his balance.
39'
Where's the firepower?
It speaks volumes of Hertha's performance so far that Kimmich has had the most shots on goal of any player with two to his name. Bayern are struggling to carve out any chances of note in a tightly-packed final third.
32'
Sorry Selke
We wrote earlier about Lewandowski's lack of touches, but his counterpart Selke is having an even worse time of it. The Berlin frontman has had just seven touches so far, but he is playing a vital role in the visitor's pressing game. It was always going to be a long day at the office for him in Munich. He only needs one chance though!
32'
Chance for Franck
So close to an opening goal for Bayern as Ribery pops up at the back post to smash an effort right at Jarstein from a tight angle.
28'
Boateng to the rescue
A lovely one-two on the edge of the area sees Kalou break in behind Bayern's backline. The Ivorian manages to squeeze the ball under the onrushing Neuer, but Boateng is there to clear as the ball trickled goalwards.
24'
Hertha shifting gears
After taking the game to Bayern in the opening 20 minutes and pressing their hosts high up the pitch, Hertha are now sitting deeper to absorb pressure and waiting for an opportunity to counter.
23'
Javi heads over!
A good chance for Bayern goes begging, but Hertha can't afford to make the same mistake twice. From a corner, no one tracks Martinez. Fortunately the Spaniard's header is off target.
21'
Lonely Lewandowski
Bayern's striker has had just nine touches of the ball in the opening 20 minutes. Hertha are doing a fantastic job of cutting out the service.
18'
Pal keeps his promise!
Hertha coach Pal Dardai promised that his side would take the game to Bayern and they're certainly not shying away from the task at hand. They're having less possession, but posing a greater threat and making Bayern's life very difficult.
15'
First shot for Lewy
The prolific Pole is back up on his feet and able to get his ehad on James Rodriguez's lofted cross. However, he can't generate enough power to trouble Jarstein.
15'
A whisker away!
Lewandowski goes down after getting clipped trying to spread the play. Advantage is played, allowing Kimmich to push forward before fizzing a low drive just past the far post. That was close.
12'
Close call!
Hertha pick up the ball in midfield before playing it through to Selke in behind. The striker finishes the chance well, but the offside flag chalks the goal off.
10'
Hertha taking a note out of Bayern's playbook
Interesting to see that Hertha are adopting the same approach Bayern used against Liverpool against the record titleholders today. The capital city side are bravely pressing high and forcing mistakes out of their hosts.
8'
Shot blocked
Bayern earn a corner which is punched clear in the knick of time with Lewandowski loitering before Kimmich's fierce drive is blocked and cleared.
6'
Tough to break down
Bayern's first extended period of possession sees them frustrated by Hertha's proficient pressing game.
3'
Hertha pose the first threat!
An early free-kick is put behind for a Hertha corner, which isn't comfortably dealt with. Rekik's knock down is just beyond the outstreched foot of Kalou before it's pounced on by Neuer. It just needed a touch.

KICK OFF!
We're underway in Munich. Can Bayern avenge the 2-0 loss they suffered against Hetha Berlin back on Matchday 6 or will the capital city side manage an unlikely league double over the German record titleholders?
Chance to make up ground on Claudio!
Robert Lewandowski has netted 13 Bundesliga goals in 2018/19 and 193 overall, and needs just three more to overtake Claudio Pizarro as the division's all-time leading non-German scorer.
One change for Hertha
Pal Dardai has made just one alteration that were on the receiving end of a last-minute equaliser in the 1-1 draw with Werder as Arne Maier, who had missed the last two games through injury, replaces Jordan Torunarigha, out with an achilles injury.
Fresh faces on the Berlin bench
Hertha's starting line-up boasts quality in all departments, but it's on the bench that the injury crisis has taken it's toll with Pal Dardai forced to call upon the services of unproven talents Jastrzembski, Baak and Dardai.
Milestone moment for Kovac!
Berlin native and former Hertha player Niko Kovac today celebrates his 100th Bundesliga appearance as a head coach. Up until now, the Bayern boss has a record of 44 wins, 19 draws and 36 defeats.
A little bit of rotation never hurt
Niko Kovac has made three changes in comparison to the Champions Lague draw with Liverpool with Boateng, Goretzka and Ribery all back in the first XI. Thiago and Coman are on the bench, while Hummels misses out all together.
Fear the Franck!
Franck Ribery makes his first league start of 2019. The last time he featured from the off, the French veteran bagged a brace in a 3-0 win over Frankfurt on Matchday 17.
