BOOM!

Less than seven minutes after coming on, sub Paco Alcacer has his goal. Schwolow got a hand to the ball but it was ferociously hit by the Spaniard for his 17th of the campaign and the first time he'd taken a penalty in the Bundesliga.

GAME OVER FROM GÖTZE

Another clinical attack from BVB. A Diallo header is picked up by Sancho inside his own half and the Englishman sets off at pace. He runs at the Freiburg defence, waiting for Reus to appear on the overlap. The teenager quickly feeds his captain, who crosses low for Mario Götze to tap home his fifth Bundesliga goal of the campaign. It's also his first away from home since  16 December 2016 at Hoffenheim.

GONDORF!

Just moments after Waldschmidt went close, substitute Jerome Gondorf tries his luck with a curling effort from the edge of the D. Freiburg have not given up hope here...

PULISIC RETURNS

The American make his first appearance for Dortmund since 16 March as he replaces Guerreiro for the closing 20 minutes.

SENIOR DEBUT

On comes Christoph Daferner for his professional debut. The 21-year-old striker is an 1860 Munich youth product.

WOLF FINALLY OFF

Dortmund eventually make that change and it's Ömer Toprak who comes on for Marius Wolf. He goes into the centre of defence and Manuel Akanji shifts into the right-back spot.

CLINICAL REUS!

Just like in the first half, Dortmund strike with their first real chance. Guerreiro with a well disguised ball through the heart of the Freiburg defence into the path of captain Reus, who lofts his shot past Schwolow and into the far corner.

FREIBURG TO TAKE ADVANTAGE?

The hosts show no mercy and immediately attack down Wolf's side. Grifo manages to get away with ease and cross for captain Frantz at the far post. His first touch is heavy and looks to have allowed Bürki to nip in but he collides with two teammates and spills the ball before eventually grabbing it at the second attempt.

BACK ON

Remarkably, Wolf has returned to the action but he doesn't look comfortable on that left ankle. Dortmund, though, have no recognised right-back on their bench and would likely need a reshuffle.
48'

OUCH!

That looks a nasty tumble from Marius Wolf. The Dortmund right-back was looking to cross as he approached the by-line but his standing foot stuck in the turf and got caught under him. He's currently receiving treatment behind the Freiburg goal but his game may be over.

AS GOOD AS DONE?

Dortmund are yet to lose a game this season from a winning position (W20, D3). They will be desperate to make that 21 wins as we resume the second half. No changes for either side.

IT’S FLOWN BY

A very even game but it’s Borussia Dortmund who lead in Freiburg with one of the few clear-cut chances of the half. BVB won’t mind though as the result would bring them back to within one point of leaders Bayern.

DORTMUND IN CONTROL

It the hosts seeing more of the ball in the opening stages, but since then BVB have tightened their grip on the game and increased their possession to 62 per cent.

JUST OVER

A Freiburg free-kick from the left is met by the head of Niederlechner, but he can't flick it underneath the crossbar.
25'

GOOD BLOCK!

Freiburg are back on the front foot for the moment and carve out a good chance with Niederlechner cutting back for Grifo but Weigl gets a foot to the shot and deflects it behind.

WITSEL!

BVB are in control now and pushing for that second. This time it's Axel Witsel with the shot from range but it's over the bar.
19'

HIT FROM REUS

Dortmund have a free-kick a little over 20 yards out but opt to play it short and tee up captain Reus, whose drilled effort swerves in front of Alexander Schwolow and the Freiburg goalkeeper decides the safest option is to punch away.
14'

GÜNTER!

The Freiburg left-back looks to immediately strike back with a low driven effort of his own, but the 26-year-old's effort fizzes past Roman Bürki's left-hand post.

THAT BOY AGAIN!

It's Dortmund's first attack of the game and they scythe through the Freiburg defence from a throw-in, Marco Reus getting in behind before squaring the ball for a simple tap-in by Jadon Sancho after his darting run into the six-yard box. It's the 19-year-old's 11th Bundesliga goal of the season.

CONFIDENT FREIBURG

The home side have definitely started this game on the front foot against the Bundesliga's second-placed side. They're passing the ball around with ease and looking for any gaps in the Dortmund rearguard.

BVB MUST WIN

Dortmund, on the other hand, know they cannot risk dropping points where Bayern did if they’re to stand a chance of usurping the record champions this season. Borussia come into the game four points off the leaders having played a match less and their fate out of their own hands. The simply have to keep pace and be there to pounce should the Munich club slip up in their remaining four games.

A POINT FOR SAFETY?

Freiburg have already taken a point off Bayern Munich here in recent weeks, and should they repeat the feat again today against Dortmund they will be all but safe from relegation thanks to their vastly superior goal difference over 16th-placed Stuttgart in the relegation play-off position. A win would make absolutely certain of a fourth successive Bundesliga campaign.

BVB WITH PLAYERS BACK

Lucien Favre has made just the one change to the side that started last weekend’s 2-1 win against Mainz. Raphael Guerreiro is back in the starting XI after missing the last two games with a muscular problem, while 20-year-old American Christian Pulisic also returns to the squad after missing the last three league games with a turn muscle suffered on international duty.

NEW SHAPE FOR FREIBURG

Today’s hosts suffered a late 2-1 defeat at Werder Bremen last time out and coach Christian Streich brings in three new faces. Captain Mike Frantz returns after coming off the bench last week, while Nicolas Höfler is back from suspension. Second-best goalscorer Luca Waldschmidt is also given the nod in a re-shaped line-up. It's only the second time since the winter break he's started alongside Florian Niederlechner with Streich perhaps signalling his attacking intent.
