DORTMUND GO TOP OF THE LEAGUE
A perfect performance, in the end, from Borussia Dortmund, who were made to work for their win in the end. It came down to a second half performance that will send fear to other Bundesliga teams as to what BVB are able to produce when they're firing on all cylinders. Jadon Sancho, Paco Alcacer, Marco Reus and Julian Brandt all on the scoresheet to start the season.

DREAM DAY FOR DORTMUND
This second half performance from Dortmund has been scintillating. After struggling to breakdown Augsburg in the entire first half, BVB have cut open their opponents with much faster interplay and well-taken chances. Nothing but positive things to take from this, but Augsburg can also feel proud of their performance.

A fantastic ball from Witsel over the Augsburg defence and an outstanding finish from Brandt, with a volley on his left foot in front of the Yellow Wall. This has been the perfect day for Dortmund and their debutants.

SANCHO SCORES!
An unorthodox goal, but Dortmund won't care. Witsel is in down the left wing and fires the ball low across goal. It bounces all the way through to the back post and Sancho picsk it up. He composes himself and smashes the ball into the far bottom corner. He then looks to the Yellow Wall and points to the BVB badge. A sign of the future for Jadon?

AS IF IT HAD NEVER BEEN AWAY...
The Bundesliga back with a bang here in Dortmund in the first half with both goals scored so far coming in the first three minutes of the game. Augsburg caught BVB sleeping in defence with just 31 seconds on the clock, before Alcacer responded just two minutes later. Since then, it's been all Dortmund with chance after chance on goal. However, the home side are struggling to breakdown a strong Augsburg defence and could need a change of tactic to open the game up in the second half.

SWITCH OF TEMPO NEEDED
Dortmund being reduced to slow build-up play and long shots in the last 10 minutes or so with Augsburg a difficult side to breakdown. With the pace they have on the wings and trickery in attack, a change of tempo may be in order for them to get beyond this strong backline.

AUGSBURG BEING PENNED IN
This could be a first half of survival now for the away side as all 11 players are penned back in their own half. The odd moment is coming to counter, but the BVB defence is quickly snuffing it out so far.

INTENSE START HERE
Dortmund are trying to calm this game down slightly and take more control, but Augsburg's pressing is not helping them at all. As soon as the home side enter the AUgsburg half they are met by a wall of defenders. Reus just had a header go straight at Koubek, as BVB continue to look for a go-ahead goal.
