GLADBACH DO THE JOB AGAIN
Three second half goals were enough to help Gladbach overcome the tough test of Freiburg this evening, taking them back to the top of the Bundesliga for another week. Breel Embolo the start of the show with his two goals and one assist. Next week, the huge test of hosting Bayern Munich on Saturday afternoon. We can't wait to see that one.

GLADBACH STAYING TOP
These three points that Gladbach have all-but secured this evening will take them back to the top of the Bundesliga for another week, one point ahead of RB Leipzig. As it stands there are just five points between the top five in the table.

ADDED TIME
We'll have five minutes added on at the end of this game in Mönchengladbach.
84'
JOB DONE FOR BREEL
Two goals and one assist for Embolo showing exactly what a change of scenery and a new team can do for a player. He has five goals and two assist already this season: his best return in any Bundesliga season for Schalke.
80'
FREIBURG ON THE BALL
The away side have had most of the possession since Embolo's second goal and are using it well. Gladbach's pressing is forcing them to take time when on the ball, and Freiburg will have to be wary of the Gladbach counter here in these final minutes.
71'
EMBOLO MAKES IT AND FINISHES IT
Robin Koch is caught in possession at the back by a superb tackle from Embolo to poke the ball into space. Neuhaus picks it up and plays Embolo in on goal. The star of today's show then duly dinks the ball past Flekken with a delightful finish to restore Gladbach's two-goal lead.
70'
FLEKKEN STOPS THURAM
A tidy pass from Embolo on the edge of the box finds Thuram in space on the left. He opens his ball to curl the ball towards the far post, but Flekken reads it well and makes a solid save low to his left.
68'
KOCH HEADS OVER!
Huge chance for the Germany international as he rises to meet Schmid's corner, but he can't keep his header from six yards out on target. He shakes his head as he runs back to the defence.
67'
FREIBURG COUNTERING WELL
While set-pieces have given Freiburg two goals and caused problems for the Gladbach defence, it's the away side's counter-attacking which has brought those free-kicks about.
62'
CLEARED OFF THE LINE!
Huge chance for Freiburg to go level as Günter's short free-kick causes panic in the Gladbach box. It's played to the back post by Gulde and Höler slides in to push it towards goal, only to see the ball cleared off the line by Bensebaini. Höfler is onto the rebound but an outstanding tackle from the Gladbach defence wipes him and the ball out as the home side clear.
58'
FREIBURG BACK IN THIS!
We need to hold our horses on giving Gladbach top spot in the league. A second goal for Freiburg and another from a set-piece. Günter whips in the free-kick towards the back post of Gladbach's box and Höler times his run perfectly to meet it and head home in front of Sommer. Snatch and grab works magically again for the away side.

CHANCE OF TACT FOR FREIBURG
An attacker comes on in place of a centre-back, bringing Robin Koch back into the centre of the Freiburg defence as Streich looks to force the agenda before the game is taken out of Freiburg's hands.

THE EARLY GOAL SHOW
We had two goals in the opening six minutes of the first half and we've now had two goals in the opening five minutes of the second half. This time, though, it's Gladbach who have scored both goals to take a two-goal advantage. Marco Rose's team are playing some fantastically fluid football.
51'
A BEAUTIFUL GOAL
Zakaria brings the ball forward from midfield and plays an outstanding through ball between three Freiburg defenders for Embolo in the Freiburg box. He then has the simple task of passing the ball across goal to Herrmann for a simple tap-in. Gladbach are heading back to the top of the Bundesliga after this incredible start to the second half.
49'
OFF THE POST!
Embolo's penalty dribbles along the ground and hits the post with Flekken fully stretched. Neuhaus gets onto the rebound and heads at goal, but Flekken is able to save it superbly to keep the score at 2-1.
48'
GLADBACH PENALTY!
Embolo is brought down by Heintz and Gladbach have a chance to go two goals ahead.

EMBOLO PUTS GLADBACH AHEAD!
Well, there's your answer. Another goal inside the opening minutes of the half and this time it's Embolo with his fourth of the season. Herrmann is played in behind the Freiburg defence down the left wing and plays a simple ball across to Embolo to smash home past Flekken. VAR checked for a potential offside, but the all-clear was quickly given.

BLOCKBUSTER START
After two goals in the opening six minutes from the first two chances of the game it was Gladbach who took control. A host of chances for Thuram, Embolo and Herrmann could have had them ahead going into the break but Freiburg have been able to stand firm.

FREIBURG GROWING
The away side are starting to get things going just before the break here. A few moments of nice movement forward, but still Yann Sommer has yet to make a save in this game.
35'
HERRMANN AGAIN
Lovely work from Embolo as he dribbles his way through the Freiburg defence on the byline before pulling the ball back to Herrmann in front of goal. The German goes onto his left foot and shoots at goal, but can only send it over the crossbar.
31'
HERRMANN IN ON GOAL
The in-form winger is played in behind by Jantschke, but he can't get past Flekken at the near post with the Freiburg goalkeeper staying big to keep the ball out.
26'
OFF THE POST!
Big chance for Thuram to get his second goal but he can only find the post. The Frenchman is played in on goal out on the left wing. He stands up Gulde and takes the ball past him onto his right foot, but can only find the near post of Flekken's goal.
24'
NO CHANCE TO GET FORWARD
Freiburg have shared an equal amount of possession with Gladbach so far, but the home side are keeping a stranglehold on their visitors and keeping them in their own half so far. No forward play has been made since the equalising goal.
22'
GOOOOO... NO!
Embolo has the ball in the Freiburg net, but he is offside when scoring. It was Thuram's good work that made the goal there, but he's not rewarded with an assist.

FORCING THE AGENDA
It's all Gladbach here. Tidy football being played around the Freiburg box with short passes into Thuram, Embolo and Herrmann in the box looking to open up space. Zakaria has dragged a shot wide, too, as the Foals continue to press.
9'
WHAT A START
Two chances so far and two goals at Borussia-Park. Clinical stuff from both teams, taking advantage of mistakes from the other side to find the net. This is an enjoyable, open game here with both sides playing fluid attacking football. Gladbach are on top, though, and have enjoyed most of the ball.
6'
A STUNNER FROM SCHMID!
Neuhaus takes out Harberer on the edge of the Gladbach box and Freiburg have a free-kick in prime position. Schmid and Günter are standing over it and the Frenchman takes the duties, curling a brilliant free-kick over the wall and leaving Sommer no chance with power behind the strike to power it into the net.
3'
WHO ELSE!?
What a perfect start for Gladbach and who else to score it but Marcus Thuram? Benes' free-kick swings into the box and is headed at goal Bensebaini. The ball goes straight at Flekken, but he can't hold onto it in front of goal and Thuram pokes the loose ball home from close range.
2'
SCHLOTTERBECK EARLY ON!
The defender is up for a set-piece and smashes a volley at goal from the loose ball dropping into the box. It takes a slight deflection on its way to go, but Sommer saves superbly. The Swiss shot-stopper coming into this game on the back of his new contract being signed with the club until 2023.

UNDERWAY IN GLADBACH!
The first of our double-header today is underway at Borussia-Park. If this weekend's results are anything to go by, then this will be a cracker.

SURPRISE OF THE SEASON
It's safe to say that Freiburg's impressive start to the season has also come as a surprise to those behind-the-scenes at the Black Forrest club. Six wins and four draws from their first 12 games of the season have been a record return for Streich's side.
FORTRESS BORUSSIA
The Foals have enjoyed victory in each of their last four home games in the Bundesliga, scoring 14 and conceding just five. And despite this game coming off the back of a Europa League outing on Thursday, that's been no problem so far this season for Marco Rose's side. They have won all four of their Bundesliga games following Europa League action.
TOP OF THE TABLE CLASH
In keeping with the fantastic start to the Bundesliga season, the visit of Freiburg to Borussia-Park sees two of the top teams this season go head-to-head. A win for the home side will see them keep their place at the top of the table for another week, while a Freiburg win will see them jump above Schalke and into third place in the table. Huge incentives for both sides.
KOCH IN MIDFIELD
The German international centre-back will not be in his usual position today as he has been moved into a holding midfield role alongside Nicolas Höfler. Gulde, Schlotterbeck and Heintz make up the back three while Luca Waldschmidt remains on the sidelines for Christian Streich's side.
EMBOLO BACK TO START
The Swiss international is in the attack, replacing Alassane Plea. It's his first Bundesliga start for over a month due to injury and he is partnered by Marcus Thuram and Patrick Herrmann on either wing. Laszlo Benes returns to start in midfield, while Matthias Ginter is unfit to play and his place is taken by Tony Jantschke.
