ADDED TIME
We'll have three minutes of added time here in Bremen with both sides knowing exactly what the result will be.

RECORD AWAY WIN?
Mainz have won by a score of 5-0 three times at home, but never away from home in the Bundesliga. Tonight would be a first in the German top-flight if they can hold on.

MATETA HAS A GOAL!
Incredible story for Mateta who has the fifth goal of the night. He's played in on goal by Boetius and slots it under the legs of Pavlenka to score his first goal of the season on only his second appearance back for the club.
79'
KUNDE OFF INJURED
The Mainz midfielder is off after a calf injury here, replaced by Leandro Barreiro.
75'
THE GOLDEN CLEAN SHEET?
Mainz have yet to keep an opposing team from scoring in the Bundesliga so far this season, but are on track for their first clean sheet of 2019/20 here.
73'
PIZAA... NO!
41-year-old Claudio Pizarro has the ball in the Mainz net but it doesn't count. The Peruvian is adjudged to have blocked it with his hand before smashing the ball into the net from Eggestein's cross.
69'
CLOSE AGAIN
Good patience shown by the Bremen attack as Johannes Eggestein is played into the box. He hits the ball at Osako at the near post, but he can't point it at goal with a block helping it behind for a corner.
67'
MATETA BACK AGAIN
The Frenchman came on in the final 10 minutes of last weekend's defeat at home to Dortmund - his first appearance of the season after suffering a knee injury in the summer - and now he gets more time to work his way to full fitness here in Bremen.
62'
ANOTHER CHANCE FOR BREMEN
Two of the home side's bright spots in this game, Augustinsson and Bittencourt connect with the left-back crossing into the box. Bittencourt did well to reach the ball with a header but could only angle it wide of the mark.
58'
MAINZ STILL YET TO DRAW A GAME THIS SEASON
Tonight's away side have a record of five wins and 10 defeats coming into this game. As things stand they will make that six wins, leaving their games drawn collum untouched since the start of the season at 0. No other team has drawn zero games, with Borussia Mönchengladbach the nearest with just a single game at level scoring.

MAINZ KEEPING CONTROL
Chances have been few and far between in this second half so far but it's certainly Mainz on top once again. Bremen are having the ball for good spells but just cannot connect properly going forward.

We're back underway here in Bremen, can the home side change the script?

QUAISON STUNS BREMEN
We could be talking about a full-time score in Bremen, but it's only half-time and Mainz are four goals to the good. Three of them scored by Robin Quaison with his first-ever Bundesliga hat-trick. It's only the second time ever that Mainz have scored four goals in the first half of a Bundesliga game, the first coming against Hoffenheim in September 2016.

HISTORY FOR QUAISON
The Mainz striker has scored his first-ever Bundesliga hat-trick and the second Mainz hat-trick scored in 2019. The other was scored by Jean-Philippe Mateta against Freiburg in April this year.
42'
OFF THE POST!
A rare bright moment in an otherwise disastrous first half for Bremen as Bittencourt shoots at goal from 20 yards out, curling past a defender and the diving hand of Zentner, but he can only find the outside of the post.
38'
FIRST HALF HAT-TRICK FOR QUAISON
Incredible stuff here in Bremen. A Mainz corner is swung in by Aaron Martin, headed on at the near post by Adam Szalai, and poked home at the back post by Quaison with no defender in sight. He has three goals in the first 38 minutes here and Mainz have four in total.
35'
BREMEN MIDFIELD MISSING
While the home side have actually enjoyed most of the possession here their midfield is missing in this game both defensively and offensively. Rashica is often coming back to help his side out in defence, while an attempted ball forward is being cut-out all too easily by the Mainz defence.
30'
MAINZ MOVING WELL
Great interplay from the away side between Boetius and Öztunali out to the right before the German winger found Szalai in the box. His shot is saved by Pavlenka this time, but the away side continue to be in control of this game.
28'
FIRST HALF CHANGES FOR BOTH SIDES
Bremen clearly needed a change of tactic and therefore bring on a striker in Johannes Eggestein for holding midfielder Nuri Sahin. For Mainz, it was saving Edmilson Fernandes from a red card. The defensive midfielder had already been booked and warned after another foul, and so Daniel Brosinski comes on in his place and Mainz return to a four-man defence.
24'
HACK WITHIN INCHES
A set-piece causes panic in the Bremen box as it bounces in front of Pavlenka's goal. A failed clearance sends it Alexander Hack's way and the defender heads at goal, missing the target by the slightest of margins. It's all Mainz here.
22'
BEIERLORZER LOVING MAINZ LIFE
The Mainz coach has already been able to celebrate more goals for his new side (11) in just five games than he managed in 11 games with his previous club Cologne (five).
19'
QUAISON SCORES AGAIN!
The Sweden international has his brace and it's another tidy goal from the away side. The ball is won back from Rashica intending to bring it out from the back. Boetius plays a lovely pass through the Bremen defence for the run of Quaison. He controls, composes himself, and slots it past Pavlenka. Incredible here with Mainz three goals to the good inside 20 minutes!
15'
HEAD IN HANDS MOMENT FOR BREMEN
Öztunali is once again involved as his cross from the right wing intended for Quaison is met by Veljkovic. The Bremen defender meets the cross with a volley but only with his shin, sending it onto the post and in off the back of Pavlenka in the Bremen goal to make the score 2-0. The home side could not have asked for a worse start, Mainz not for a better one.
10'
QUAISON FINISHES A LOVELY MOVE
Öztunali is afforded time and space to run at the Bremen defence from midfield. He plays the ball into the box for Quaison to run onto and he smashes it past Pavlenka at the Bremen goalkeeper's near post. A tidy finish to put Mainz into the lead early here.
8'
OPENING FOR OSAKO
A deflection after a pass from Eggestein falls kindly to Osako in the box. He lets it run past him onto his left foot and pokes a shot at goal having turned past Hack, with Zentner staying big to deny him. The rebound hits the Japanese forward and goes back out for a goal kick.
6'
SIMPLE START
Mainz have had more of the ball here in these opening minutes and have spent more time in the Bremen half of the pitch, but both sides are simply figuring each other out still at this point.

WE'RE UNDERWAY

BOTH SIDES IN SEARCH OF A RESULT
With Bremen hovering two points about the relegation play-off spot in 15th, and Mainz one point above them in 14th, this is a vital game for both sides looking to give themselves a boost going into the winter break. Both sides have suffered two defeats in a row, but that will change tonight...
WELCOME TO THE "ENGLISCHE WOCHE"
As they call it in German, this is the Englische Woche (English Week) in German. Called so because of the host of games played within a single week as we have four games this evening, and five games coming up tomorrow evening. Either way, we're in for a blockbuster end to 2019 in the Bundesliga.
HACK IN FOR ST. JUSTE
With Mainz's Dutch defender suspended after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season at the weekend against Dortmund, Alexander Hack comes in to form the three-man defence for the away side this evening. No other changes beyond that for Mainz, with Jean-Philippe Mateta among the substitutes once again having made his first appearance of the season last time out.
MOISANDER FIT TO START
The Bremen captain is fit to start having picked up a knock in the defeat to Bayern at the weekend. Otherwise, it's as you'd expect with Milot Rashica the main threat in attack for Florian Kohfeldt's side looking to win at home for the final time in 2019.
