BÜLTER FORCES A GOOD SAVE

His shot from the edge of the box is sweetly-timed on the half-volley, but is met by the strong palms of Gulacsi.

ADDED TIME!

We'll have four minutes of added time here in Leipzig.
85'

YET ANOTHER RECORD

Leipzig have become the first Bundesliga team to score at least three goals in nine straight games.

IT'S TIMO AGAIN!

Number 20 for the season for Timo and the third of the day for Leipzig. Sabitzer's cross into the box is almost headed at goal by Halstenberg, but his faintest of touches takes the ball to Werner at the back post and he smashes the ball into the net through Gikiewicz.

UNION BATTLING BACK

The away side have weathered the Leipzig storm for the most part here and are now looking to get themselves going forward once again. Easier said than done against the league leaders, but fresh legs in attack are looking to do the trick.

MALLI DEBUT

One of the most interesting moves so far in the January transfer window is that of Yunus Malli joining Union on loan from Wolfsburg. He's on for his debut here, looking to reignite the attacking spark for the Berliners.

LEIPZIG RECORDS

Nagelsmann's side have now scored twice in each of their last 13 competitive games, the first Bundesliga team to do so since Bayern Munich between November 2013 and March 2014 under Pep Guardiola.

CHANGE OF PERSONNEL, SIMILAR TACT

It hasn't quite been Schick's day for Leipzig today, but he was involved in the equalising goal by challenging for an aerial duel. Now Poulsen comes on to continue working hard at the Union defence.

AS THINGS STAND

With three points staying in Leipzig as things stands, RBL will go five points clear at the top of the table before third-placed Bayern Munich face Hertha Berlin tomorrow.
57'

AND LEIPZIG LEAD!

Leipzig showing that you need to win ugly sometimes in order to stay at the top of the table. A corner swings in and is met by the head of Upamecano, with the ball dropping in front of goal. Sabitzer is perfectly-placed to flick it at goal and beyond the reach of Gikiewicz before running off to the corner and celebrate with the home crowd.

WERNER SMASHES LEIPZIG LEVEL!

The home side needed to resort to old-school tactics to get back level. A long ball into the box sees Schick battle the defence to win the header, with the ball dropping to the edge of the box. Werner is first to it and he nails a half-volley into the top corner from 20 yards. A stunning finish to bring up his 19th league goal of the season.

UNION TICKING ALL THE BOXES

Despite controlling the ball for most of the first half, Leipzig were caught in a Union trap in that first half here at the Red Bull Arena. Marius Bülter's tidy finish at the front post of Peter Gulacsi's goal has the away side in the perfect place. Now set up with a five-man defence, Union will be looking to keep their hosts out while catching them on the counter-attack.

KLOSTERMANN GOES SO CLOSE

Nkunku fires a low ball across the face of the Union goal and Klostermann is on the end of it at the back post. He pokes the ball towards goal but Upamecano and Parensen were challenging for the ball next to him and ended up on the floor, and the left foot of the Union defender ends up blocking the shot without him knowing.
37'

RARE SHOT, SAME RESULT

Marcel Halstenberg has the chance to go for goal with a free-kick around 30 yards from goal but he smashes the set-piece high into the stand behind the Union goal and Leipzig will have to continue their search for an opening. Leipzig have scored in every home game so far this season...
31'

UNION NOT STOPPING

Ryerson swings in a cross from the right which is almost flicked into his own goal by Mukiele, but there was a flag in the build-up. Leipzig aren't struggling to get on the ball but they are having trouble keeping it in dangerous areas and creating decent chances on goal to test Gikiewicz.

REAL BATTLE HERE

We've already had over 60 challenges made in this game with just over 20 minutes played. Both teams struggling to keep the ball for extended periods of time with their opponents battling for every chance they can get.
17'

LEIPZIG STRUGGLES

It's not been the opening period of play Leipzig were expecting so far. The attack hasn't flown together so far with Leipzig yet to have a shot on goal, on or off target. That despite having 62 per cent of the ball.
10'

HOW ABOUT THAT?

They've been the better side so far and deservedly go in front. Once again high pressing forcing an error, this time from Halstenberg. His loose pass is picked up by Andersson who skips past one defender before slotting Bülter in on goal. He composes himself and places the ball past Gulacsi at his near post with a superb finish.

UNION CAUSING PROBLEMS

The away side's "no fear" approach to this game is being rewarded in the early stages. High-pressing has seen them win the ball back from Leipzig high up the pitch, and the home side are yet to have a go at goal so far. Remember, they've scored three or more goals in each of their last eight Bundesliga games.

ANDRICH WITH THE FIRST GO AT GOAL

Mukiele actually wins the aerial duel against Andersson, but the ball drops to Andrich 25 yards from goal. The midfielder smashes a shot at goal, but it's always drifting over the home side's crossbar.

UNDERWAY IN LEIPZIG!

We're off and running in Leipzig for the final Bundesliga game of the day, Leipzig hosting Union.

SAME PROCEDURE AS EVERY YEAR?

Last season's opening game between these sides saw RB Leipzig give the Bundesliga newcomers a lesson as they came away with a 4-0 win in the German capital. Tonight, Union want to change the story. The team who has won the most aerial duels in the league this season - and actually the only to have won over 1,000 - is ready for a battle tonight.

NAGELSMANN EXPLAINS TACTICS

The Leipzig coach has been speaking on Sky in Germany before this evening's game. He explains that going forward his side will set-up in a 4-3-3, with Timo Werner on the left flank, Patrik Schick through the middle and Marcel Sabitzer on the right.

NO FEAR FROM UNION

Their away fans have travelled in their numbers from Berlin across to Leipzig and the away side have also set-up to attack rather than simply defend at the Red Bull Arena. Marius Bülter, Marcus Ingvartsen and Sebastian Andersson all start.

ADAMS STARTS FOR LEIPZIG

The USA international started Leipzig's last game before the winter break and starts their first outing of 2020 this evening. He will be partnered in central midfield by Konrad Laimer as Leipzig line-up as you'd expect. Emil Forsberg misses out with a cold, so Christopher Nkunku starts in his place.
