UNTIL NEXT TIME

Both sides are back in action after the international break with Matchday 4 kicking off with Fortuna Düsseldorf hosting Wolfsburg on Friday, September 14 (kick-off 8.30pm CEST), while Frankfurt travel to Augsburg the following day (kick off 3.30pm). Thanks for joining us and until then, take care and see you soon!

FRANKFURT MOVE SEVENTH

A superb second half performance sees Frankfurt come from behind to win 2-1 and move into seventh place with their second win of the campaign. Houwens' wonderful heder had the visitors dreaming of a first win over Eintracht since December 2012 but Dost's first goal for the Eagles and Paciencia's late winner sends the away side home without a point.

A LATE LEVELLER?

We're into injury time now, with three minutes left for Düsseldorf to find an equaliser. Can they do it?

GOAL! GONCALO PACIENCIA!

Frankfurt's pressure finally tells and once again it's a result of getting on the outside of Düsseldorf. Da Costa has some luck going beyond his man but cuts back perfectly for Paciencia to control and flash past Steffen into the far corner. A great finish. This Paciencia-Dost partnership looks a real handful.

ALL THE TRAPP-INGS

A quick word of appreciation for Trapp in the Frankfurt goal. He may not have had many saves to make today but his footwork has been excellent. He's had to deal with a number of volleyed passes back to him and has been superb each and every time.
82'

PACIENCIA SHOOTS...

...wide! Suddenly Frankfurt are 3 vs. 2 and Paciencia is found on the edge of the penalty box but can only fire wide on his left foot. With an extra man over, that was a great chance for Frankfurt to finish this game off. We remain level.
80'

NEARLY!

Fine work from Paciencia wins the home side a corner and the resulting set piece almost sees the ball fall to Kohr just yards out but he doesn't quite get the rub of the green. Seconds later and Düsseldorf are in the Frankfurt area after yet another swift break but, again, the ball just won't fall their way.

LIVELY INTRODUCTION

Thomas Pledl makes a very bright start by weaving past and inbetween two Frankfurt defenders but is stopped before he can find a final route to goal. The end of this game is playing out in the same fashion as the rest of it; Frankfurt with most of the ball and Düseeldorf happy to sit and wait for an opportunity to counter. Will someone blink?
68'

TIME FOR A CHANGE

Both teams make changes in quick succession with Kownacki replaced by Jean Zimmer for Fortuna and Sebastian Rode make way for Mijat Gacinovic in the other dugout. Just over 20 minutes to go and this game is still very much in the balance.
61'

HOSTS ON TOP

Frankfurt suddenly look a completely different side with Dost on the pitch. They have more urgency and a real focal point to their attacks. Some big questions for Düsseldorf to answer now.
58'

GOAL! BAS DOST!

And just like that, Dost is up and running for Frankfurt. Like we said, it's a cross into the big man that seals the equaliser. Paciencia works some space on the right and dinks it into his partner who thumps a header past Steffen from close range. He was never missing that, 1-1.

Bas Dost

PENALTY APPEAL...

...but nothing given. Frankfurt are far more direct with Dost at their tip now and the big man goes down in the box but there's no penalty. Kostic or da Costa crossing to Dost could be a real threat here.
52'

TAKING ONE FOR THE TEAM

The only way to stop Thommy on a lung bursting run from his own half to the edge of the Frankfurt box is a Kohr trip that sees the midfielder booked. Frankfurt had just threatened from the other end but are reminded once more of Fortuna's potency on the break.
48'

TIRED EAGLES?

We've been reliably informed at half time by a fellow colleague at Bundesliga HQ that this is Frankfurt's ninth game in 32 days! That is an incredible amount of games to have played already this season, a result of a gruelling UEFA Europa League qualifying campaign.

DÜSSELDORF LEAD AT THE BREAK

A fine performance from Düsseldorf who lead through Hennings' second Bundesliga goal of the season. Hütter will need to turn things around at half time as his side just haven't been able to break down the Fortuna defence. Still all to play for in the second half, though.

GREAT CHANCE!

Kamada could and probably should have the equaliser. He's found arriving late in the penalty area but can only steer his volley wide. A big, big chance.
45'

HERE COMES DAS BOSS, BAS DOST

Hütter has wasted no time in changing things up, introducing Dost for the first time in a Frankfurt shirt in place of  Joveljic. Can the Dutchman get Eintracht up and running here?
44'

HOME SIDE CAUGHT OUT

Fortuna are expertly executing their plans here and they break quickly again but this time can't find an opening. Once more, though, they absorb Frankfurt pressure, deny them space to play in and behind, while winning the ball back higher up the pitch and countering. Funkel will be extremely happy with his side so far.
37'

GOAL! ROUWEN HENNINGS!

The visitors are in front as Hennings expertly steers Alfredo Morales' cross past Trapp and into the far corner. A superbly taken header from the big German striker.

BOTH KEEPERS QUIET

Steffen has had those two saves to make but they were routine and neither the American stopper nor Trapp has been truly troubled so far. Both teams yet to carve out a chance of real note.
21'

FIRST SHOT ON TARGET

Dominik Kohr unleashes a rocket from long range but it's straight at the keeper. Daichi Kamada comes forward and has another effort on target just moments later but, once again, Zak Steffen is up to the challenge. Better from the Eagles.
18'

PLANS TO COUNTER

Düsseldorf may have had only a nudge over 30% of possession so far but they are in control. They aren't giving Frankfurt an inch when they attack and are moving the ball quickly forward when they regain possession, in search of the counter. It's a plan that's working early on.
12'

WAKE UP CALL

That phantom goal has woken up Frankfurt who were really caught cold with that set piece. Hütter is all arms; waving and shouting encouragement at his players from the sidelines trying to get them going. A good start from Düsseldorf so far and they come close again, this time flashing a shot just wide of Kevin Trapp's goal.
4'

GOAL DISALLOWED!

Fortuna think they're in front as a smart free kick finds Dawid Kownacki who lashes home but the referee spots obsturction in the wall and it's chalked off. What a start that would've been for the visitors.

WE ARE OFF!

A nice touch as home skipper David Abraham was accompanied on to the pitch by his young son and we are now underway. The Commerzbank Arena, as ever, is absolutely rocking.

OLD STOMPING GROUND

Fortuna boss Funkel knows his hosts today very well. He was in the Frankfurt dug-out between 2004 and 2009, where he steered  Die Adler  to promotion in 2005 and the DFB Cup  final the following year. He'll be hoping to upset his former employers today.

ADVANTAGE FRANKFURT?

The Eagles have the historical advantage coming into this game, having won exactly half (27 of 54) of the teams' competitive meetings so far, including each of the last three. There have been 15 draws, while Düsseldorf have triumphed 12 times – their most recent victory was in November 2012.

DÜSSELDORF TEAM NEWS

By way of contrast, Friedhelm Funkel has rejigged his side in a couple of areas, with Lewis Baker surprisingly on the bench despite his impressive start to life in the Bundesliga on loan from Chelsea. Kenan Karaman is likewise among the substitutes, as Dawid Kownacki is preferred in attack.

FRANKFURT TEAM NEWS

Frankfurt head coach Adi Hütter has not made any major surprises following his side's UEFA Europa League play-off win over Strasbourg on Thursday. Ante Rebic is the most notable absentee and while Bas Dost was widely expected to make his starting debut for the club, Dejan Joveljic gets the nod up front alongside Goncalo Paciencia. Otherwise, it's the Austrian tactician's tried and trusted first team.
