PERFECT, IN THE END, FOR BAYERN
It didn't start well for Bayern at the Allianz Arena, but it certainly ended well. Boetius' opener came as a shock and Mainz stood firm against Bayern for a good amount of time in the first half. Then the floodgates opened and in the end, the defending champions made the most of Mainz's tired defence with six different scorers getting Bayern's first win at home of the season.

ADDED TIME
One minute of added time here in Munich before the end.

BAYERN MAKING THE MOST OF A TIRED MAINZ
Davies uses his electric pace to race past Pierre-Gabriel down the left. His low cross is parried into the middle of the box by Müller, but no Bayern player is on hand to smash it home. They are making the most of the Mainz defence playing with tired legs at the end of this game.
83'
SIX DIFFERENT SCORERS FOR BAYERN
A huge second half with four goals adding to the two in the first half, but incredibly, all six goals have come from different scorers. Two first goals for the club, while Lewandowski and Alaba have done what they do best, and Davies has his second Bundesliga goal.
80'
NO MERCY FROM BAYERN
Lewandowski's dink over the Mainz defence is misjudged by Hack, whose header falls to Müller in the box. He plays the ball across the face of goal for Davies who takes a touch and puts the ball into an empty net.

CUISANCE DEBUT
The 19-year-old Frenchman comes on to make his Bayern Munich debut after his move from Borussia Mönchengladbach was completed last week.

YOU KNEW HE'D SCORE!
He always finds a way to score and he's done it again here. Mainz's tired defence doesn't pick the Pole up in the middle and Müller's cross finds the Pole, who slots home with the help of a small deflection.

CARDS GALORE
Some late challenges coming in here in the last five minutes. Nothing malicious from either side, but just showing how tired this game has made both teams. A lot of energy and effort has gone into this one from both sides.
74'
KUNDE'S FREE-KICK GOES CLOSE
Manuel Neuer is positioned well to meet Kunde's looping free-kick and set Bayern on a counter-attack. Lewandowski almost slides in another goal for the home side, but can't meet Davies' cross.
67'
DAVIES AND MÜLLER ON
Happy full debuts for Coutinho and Perisic, the latter getting a goal and an assist. Alphonso Davies will get some valuable minutes here as he and Thomas Müller come on to the pitch.
64'
COMAN POKES HOME
Kimmich's corner drifts to the back post and lands perfectly on Kingsley Coman's left foot. He beats the defender to it and the ball finds the bottom corner of the Mainz net.

KUNDE'S SHOT GOES CLOSE
The substitute's left-footed strike is deflected on its way to goal and loops high over Neuer, but just onto the roof of the net.
57'
TWO P'S IN A POD FOR BAYERN
After earlier assisting Pavard's goal, the Frenchman now returns the favour for Pavard and two of Bayern's new signings combine for two goals in the same game. It's all too peasy for Bayern now.
54'
PERISIC HEADS HOME
The Croatian is now on the end of a Pavard cross as the pair team-up once again to combine for a goal. The Frenchman's cross to the back post meets the leaping Perisic who heads powerfully towards the near post. Müller gets a hand to it, but it bounces off the crossbar and over the line.

MAINZ CHANGE
Pierre Kunde is on in place of Danny Latza in the Mainz midfield at the break.

IT TOOK THEM TIME, BUT BAYERN CAME GOOD
A slow start from Bayern in this game and a very fast one from Mainz saw the away side go ahead in the first six minutes. The home side were in control of the ball with 68 per cent possession in the first half, but couldn't break down a disciplined Mainz defence. Then a cross to the back post where Pavard was in the right place at the right time, and a moment of class from David Alaba. Mainz will be disappointed to be behind considering how well they played.

THIAGO FIRES OVER
Lewandowski finds Perisic inside the box and his shot across goal forces a save from Müller. The rebound falls to Thiago with an open goal in front of him, but the Spaniard goes to slide as he shoots and the ball flies over the crossbar as a result.

AND THERE'S THE GOAL
The free-kick specialist shows his class again. A stunning free-kick, curling away from Müller and into the top corner of the left side of the goal. Nothing to be done about that goal, you have to applaud Alaba's brilliance.

CHANCE BEFORE THE BREAK...
Lewandowski is brought down by Hack as Bayern looked to counter. Now a chance from a free-kick just outside the Mainz box...
38'
KIMMICH FROM RANGE
The right-back turned midfielder today takes a shot from distance, forcing Müller to save well to his left.
36'
PAVARD SCORES HIS FIRST BAYERN GOAL
Perisic's cross to the back post goes over everyone and is met by Pavard on the volley. If you remember his World Cup goal, you know how this goes. Not quite as pretty, but the Frenchman gets over the ball well to bounce it into the ground and into the net.
35'
ANOTHER MÜLLER SAVE
Almost an own-goal from Niakhate as Perisic's low cross to the near post bounces off the defender and towards his own net, but Müller reacts well to palm the ball away.
34'
ALABA'S FREE-KICK WELL SAVED
It was a free-kick right on the edge of the Mainz box. Lewandowski ran over from one side leaving Alaba to smash it at goal, but Florian Müller palmed the ball away well before Niakhate cleared ahead of Perisic.
29'
HUGE CHANCE FOR PERISIC!
Bayern open up space in the middle of the pitch for the first time as Coman is found by Thiago with a neat pass. The Frenchman races away with Lewandowski and Perisic in support against two Mainz defenders. He opts for Perisic who is in space in the box, but the Croatian fires wide with his left foot.
27'
BAYERN FINDING THEIR GROOVE
The home side are beginning to find their groove here after lovely interplay between Coutinho and Perisic sets the Brazilian on his way into the box, but his attempted one-two with Lewandowski is just misplaced.

DRINKS BREAK
The heat is on in Munich today and therefore we're having a drinks break. It's currently 29 degrees centigrade, 85 degrees Fahrenheit in Munich.

KIMMICH BOOKED
The German international is just a touch late in his challenge on Burkardt, and he receives his first yellow card of the season because of it.
16'
LEWANDOWSKI FRUSTRATED
As another searching cross comes in from Pavard which drifts over everyone and out for a corner, Lewandowski just signals to his French team-mate to keep the ball on the ground. Bayern struggling to find space between the Mainz defence and midfield.
11'
BAYERN STRUGGLING TO FIND THEIR RYTHM
The home side have enjoyed the vast majority of the possession here early on, but are struggling to break Mainz down. The only chance on goal so far for Bayern came from an error in the away side's defence. Otherwise, Mainz are pressing hard and high up the pitch forcing Bayern to go long.
6'
BOETIUS PUTS MAINZ AHEAD!
The opening attack of the game for Mainz and it produces the first goal. A cross from the right flank from Pierre-Gabriel is perfectly-placed into the box where Boetius beats Pavard to the ball and heads home past Neuer.

COUTINHO AS NO.10
It looks like Philippe Coutinho will line up behind Robert Lewandowski, with Ivan Perisic to his right and Kingsley Coman to his right. A formidable frontline when you also consider them having Gnabry and Müller, among others, as ready reinforcements. A win this afternoon would send Bayern second behind Leipzig, before Dortmund could potentially return to the top of the table this evening.
A GAME WITH HAPPY HISTORY FOR BOTH
While Bayern have won each of their last four matches against Mainz, scoring 14 goals in the process and conceding just once, Mainz are one of the most successful teams at the Allianz Arena in Bundesliga history. Only Dortmund and Gladbach have enjoyed more wins that Mainz's two at the home of the record champions.
OPTIONS FROM THE BENCH FOR KOVAC
A host of world-class players are waiting in the wings for Bayern today. Among them Goretzka, Müller, Gnarby, Tolisso, Martinez and Boateng. Mickael Cuisance could also make his debut for Bayern as he is among the substitutes today.
CHANCE FOR BURKARDT
The 19-year-old forward for Mainz is in the club's starting XI for the first time since October 2018. It's only his sixth Bundesliga appearance in total, but can he make it a truly memorable one for him and his club?
CHANGES FOR MAINZ
The visitors to the Allianz Arena today have made three changes to their side that lost at home to Gladbach last time out. Pierre-Gabriel, Baku and Burkardt all come in to start. Adam Szalai is on the bench having re-signed for the club from Hoffenheim this week, while there are further great attacking options from the bench in Quaison, Öztunali and Maxim.
COUTINHO STARTS FOR THE FIRST TIME
It's a full Bundesliga debut for Philippe Coutinho and Ivan Perisic who start this afternoon against Mainz. Serge Gnabry and Thomas Müller drop to the bench in their place, as Niko Kovac welcomes his new boys into the starting XI. Benjamin Pavard also keeps his place at right-back while Joshua Kimmich continues in midfield.
