RELIEF FOR BREMEN
A first win of the season for Werder but it was by no means easy for them. Despite being down to 10 men for an hour, Augsburg pushed their hosts all the way, twice equalising through Ruben Vargas, but in the end Florian Kohfeldt’s side have their three points thanks to a brace from Yuya Osako and Josh Sargent’s third Bundesliga goal. An excellent game to watch.

RICHTER!
The Germany U21 international picks up the ball in midfield and slaloms his way through a number of Bremen defenders before letting fly, but his effort is always rising over the bar.

STILL PUSHING
Another header in the box for Finnbogason, but once again it's off target from the Iceland international. Augsburg are going for this.
85'
MAX!
Philipp Max lines up a free-kick from 25 yard, which takes a deflection off the wall and forces a very good save by Pavlenka low to his right.
83'
OFF THE POST!
Inches away from a third equaliser for Augsburg as Niederlechner riffles a left-footed effort off the base of the Bremen post.

THE WESERSTADION RISES
The Bremen faithful applaud the performance of their young American striker at the same time as they salute the arrival of legend Claudio Pizarro, who made his Bundesliga debut with the club 20 years ago this week.
79'
JOSH!
He's desperate to match Osako on the goalscoring front and takes down a cross with a well controlled chest but then blasts his effort well wide from a narrow angle.
75'
FINNBO!
Last season's top scorer comes close to an immediate impact as he gets a powerful header to a cross from the left, but he can't quite direct it under the crossbar.
75'
SARGENT...
...tries to put this game to bed as he's played through on goal, but the ball just gets caught under his feet and he can't capitalise.

AUGSBURG PUSHING
This game is far from over with Augsburg beginning to throw caution to the wind and get men forward. Striker Alfred Finnbogason is also preparing to come on.
67'
OSAKO AGAIN!
A thumping finish from the Bremen forward, running in around the back to volley home a Marco Friedl cross from the left and restore Werder's lead. He's now match his scoring total from the whole of last season after just three games.
66'
GOOD BUSINESS
Remarkably, all four goals Augsburg have scored this season have come from new signings (3x Vargas, 1x Niederlechner).
61'
INCHES WIDE!
Klaassen whips in what looks like a cross from the edge of the box, but with Sargent leaving the ball it turns into a shot that Koubek can only watch bounce tantalisingly wide of his left-hand post.
58'
OSAKO!
The forward looks to put Bremen back ahead with an effort from range, but his shot is always curling away from Koubek's goal.
51'
AUGSBURG SWITCH IT UP
Amongst the excitement of that equaliser, it should be noted that Martin Schmidt made a change to his side during the break to help sure things up. Centre-back Marek Suchy came on for forward Michael Gregoritsch, allowing Rani Khedira to move back into holding midfield.

THE 10 MEN SCORE!
For the first time in their Bundesliga history, Augsburg have scored when a man down. It's criminal defending from Bremen straight after the restart, getting caught on the halfway line as Florian Niederlechner was played through with no defender in sight before squaring to Vargas to tap home his second goal and equaliser of the game.

BREMEN HAPPIER
Werder are a goal and a man up at the halfway stage. Yuya Osako and Josh Sargent have found the back of the net either side of Ruben Vargas’ equaliser before Stephan Lichtsteiner was given his marching orders. Augsburg are very much up against the odds today as they have never scored in the Bundesliga when a man down. They’ll need to end that run today to have any chance of a result.

ADDED TIME
Three extra minutes to be played at the end of this first half.
40'
OSAKO!
A great chance for Bremen to extend their lead as Sahin finds Klaassen on the left with a diagonal ball. The Dutchman cuts it back to the edge of the box where Osako is completely free, but he slices his effort wide!
38'
KHEDIRA DROPS IN
Augsburg have had to move things about after that dismissal, and Rani Khedira has dropped back into central defence, with Tin Jedvaj shifting out right.
33'
LICHTSTEINER OFF!
Augsburg are 2-1 down and now a man down too. He was already on a yellow after an altercation on the touchline and now the right-back is shown a second for tripping Füllkrug on the run. The visitors will now have to play with around an hour with 10 men.

SARGENT RESTORES THE LEAD!
Josh Sargent repays his coach's faith in him by putting away a lovely finish. He takes down a long ball over his shoulder, flicking it back towards him in the process to take it away from goalkeeper Koubek before knocking it past him and slotting home for his third Bundesliga goal.

VARGAS STRIKES THIS TIME
He doesn't need a second invitation! An Augsburg goal made in Switzerland as Lichtsteiner crosses from the right and Vargas uses those neck muscles to power a header beyond Pavlenka for his second of the season. And we're level once again in Bremen.
10'
VARGAS INTO THE ACTION
Now Augsburg get forward with Ruben Vargas finding space to the left inside the penalty area, cutting back inside onto his right foot and forcing Pavlenka into a smart save for a corner, which comes to nothing.

BREMEN IN A REAL HURRY!
Just six minutes on the clock and Werder take the lead. A lovely dinked ball over the top from inside his own half by Füllkrug sends Yuya Osako away, also starting in his own half, clear of the Augsburg defence and the Japan international coolly slots away his second goal of the season past Koubek. He's now two thirds of the way to matching his total from the whole of 2018/19.

BREMEN IN A HURRY
The home side are quickly on the front foot with Niclas Füllkrug racing away down the left away from Stephan Lichtsteiner, but his ball across goal evades both friend and foe alike.

ALL SMILES
Players and fans alike all seem in good spirits at the Weserstadion as the teams make their way out onto the pitch for this clash between two sides still searching for their first Bundesliga win of the season.
UDUOKHAI ALSO THROWN IN
Like Lang, Felix Uduokhai has just this week joined a new club following his move from Wolfsburg. He’s had to wait even longer for a start in the Bundesliga, having not begun a game since December 2018.
LANG IN THE DEEP END
Just three days after signing from Borussia Mönchengladbach, Michael Lang has been called upon to help out with Werder’s defensive injury crisis. The last time he started a Bundesliga game was in March, and it remains to be seen whether he plays at right-back or in the centre.
SECOND START FOR SARGENT
The American is handed his first Bundesliga start of the season and just the second of his career. The only previous occasion was at home to Stuttgart in February.
