ADDED TIME

We're into four minutes of added time.
87'

CORNERS COMING

Already nine here for Gladbach and the pressure is building on the Freiburg goal.
84'

HÖLER SO CLOSE!

Superb from Petersen who skips past his marker down the right and races into the box before dinking the ball to the back post. Höler is waiting all alone and powers a header low at goal, but Sommer makes an outstanding save with his feet.
81'

TRIPLE SUBSTITUTION

Traore, Benes and Raffael are all on with Elvedi, Hofmann and Stindl off. Can they bring a new spark for Gladbach?
80'

INTO THE FINAL 10...

Freiburg have had the chances since Plea's sending off, but Gladbach are still pushing forward for an equaliser. We've got a huge final 10 minutes to play here...
77'

KOCH ON THE RUN

Great move forward from the midfielder is seen by Höler, and his pass is perfect to meet his run into the box. Koch shoots low at the near post but Sommer is well placed to keep it out.
74'

WALDSCHMIDT FIRES OVER

Tidy dribbling from the Freiburg forward around the edge of the Gladbach box proceeds his third shot on goal of the game, but this one also drifts over the crossbar as the home side's search for a second goal goes on.
73'

BIG FINAL 20 NOW...

Gladbach have gotten themselves back on top in this game in terms of possession, even despite being a man down, but chances have been few and far between in this second half. The home side will be looking to double their lead before the away side get any further opportunities here.
68'

PLEA SENT OFF

The Frenchman is shown a second yellow card after a fou on Robin Koch. Marco Rose will be mightily frustrated considering the way Plea was shown his first yellow card.
64'

GLADBACH LOSING THEIR TOUCH

Freiburg have been given a big boost after going ahead here. They are pressing further up the pitch and causing mistakes from their visitors in attack, something we haven't seen much of tonight.
61'

STINDL FIRES WIDE

The 12th attempt off target already from the Foals in this game. They have had no problems creating chances, but have massively struggled to make the most of them so far tonight.
58'

PETERSEN HAS FREIBURG AHEAD!

Incredible. Freiburg's joker in the pack has Freiburg ahead around a minute after coming on. It's a fantastic free-kick from Grifo which curls towards the Gladbach box and Petersen meets it towards the back post, heading it back across goal past Sommer. His 24th Bundesliga goal as a substitute.

DOUBLE CHANGE

Petersen and Schmid are on with over half an hour to play for the home side.
53'

BIG CHANCE

Fantastic interplay down the right gives Herrmann space to cross low into the box. Thuram's run is perfect and he's lining up his shot to put the ball in the back of the net, but Lienhart comes from nowhere to miraculously block the ball over his own crossbar. Outstanding defending from the Austrian.
50'

HERRMANN HEADS OVER

Lainer's cross into the Freiburg box likely had Thuram and Plea in mind, but instead fell to Herrmann in front of goal. Under the challenge of a Freiburg defender, he couldn't keep his header on target.
49'

GREAT EFFORT FROM KOCH

Sallai chests the ball down at the edge of the Gladbach box for Koch to strike at goal from 25 yards. He hits it low and hard like an arrow, but his aim is just off as it whisks past the post.
46'

SECOND HALF BEGINS

We're back underway here in Freiburg with no changes for either side.

BIG CHANCES!

A couple more chances before the break for Freiburg as Waldschmidt finds Höler running at the Gladbach box and his shot is well saved by Sommer. Sallai then hits the rebound at goal but it's blocked away.

HEADING FOR THE BREAK

Gladbach have been well on top in this first half in both possession and chances on goal, but chances have come for the home side as well and both sides will be disappointed to have no opened the scoring.
40'

KOCH BOOKED

The Germany international is cautioned for pulling down Neuhaus as he ran into the Freiburg box. A free-kick is given though.
40'

NEUHAUS BOSSING IT

The young Gladbach midfielder has taken the most shots on goal and won the most duels of any player on the pitch so far.
38'

NEUHAUS SO CLOSE

Again Freiburg can't deal with Gladbach's pass-and-move attacking play. Hofmann dinks the ball into the box for Stindl, who heads it down having spotted Neuhaus' run into the box. He chips the ball over Schwolow from a tight angle at the near post, but it floats over the crossbar.
35'

STINDL FIRES OVER

Plea heads the ball down to Stindl from a Sommer long ball and the Foals' captain has a bit of space to go for goal, which he duly obliges to. His shot is always climbing as it floats over the Freiburg goal.
31'

PASSING QUALITY

The away side have failed with just 9 percent of their passes so far, while the home side are on 24 percent in the same statistic. Florian Neuhaus has been the key man in midfield so far, winning tackles, taking shots and playing pin-perfect through balls.
27'

GOOO... NO!

Gladbach have the ball in the Freiburg net but it is ruled out for offside. It's a break through the middle with Thuram playing Neuhaus into the box. His shot is saved by Schwolow and is followed up by Herrmann, but Neuhaus is offside as he taps the ball over the line from close range.
24'

RAIN POURING DOWN

It's been a damp day in Germany across the country and the rain is now pouring down in Freiburg.
22'

PLEA BOOKED

The Frenchman is shown a yellow card for dissent.
18'

PLEA GOES AGAIN

Freiburg are struggling to intercept Gladbach passes through the middle as a dinked pass over the Freiburg defence from Neuhaus finds Stindl, who then flicks it back to Plea who laces a shot at goal, but it fires just wide at Schwolow's near post.
17'

WADLSCHMIDT BOOKED

A big, late challenge from Waldschmidt on Neuhaus in midfield and he goes into the book.
16'

BIG CHANCE FOR PLEA

Superb passing first from Ginter to find Stindl in space in midfield, and then the captain himself to play Plea the ball down the right. The Frenchman has time and space to shoot at the near post, but Schwolow blocks well to deny him.
15'

GLADBACH ON THE BALL

The away side have just begun to take more control of possession here in Freiburg. Great patience in building towards shots on goal.
11'

NEUHAUS FORCES A SAVE

Another of his special long-range efforts from Neuhaus as he curls a shot at goal from 25 yards. Schwolow saves well to his right.
10'

END-TO-END EARLY

Both sides getting forward well early on here. The midfield is missing out on the action so far as Plea fires wide for Gladbach just moments after Waldschmidt's golden chance. Great attacking impotus from both sides.
9'

WALDSCHMIDT FIRES OVER

A great chance to open the scoring as Günter's low cross into the box looks like it should be dealt with easily by the Gladbach defence. But it runs through several players before reaching Waldschmidt, ready to strike it on his favoured left foot. But the former Germany U21 striker leans back while shooting and the ball floats over the crossbar. The Gladbach defence get away with one there, and Freiburg are frustrated.
6'

GREAT PRESSURE

The away side hold possession in the Freiburg for a good couple of minutes with all outfield players in the Freiburg half. Bensebaini turns the ball through Kübler's legs before crossing low towards Thuram, but Lienhart clears.
5'

FIRST GO AT GOAL

Former Foal Vinczeno Grifo is the first to take a shot at goal. He cuts inside from the left wing to shoot on his favoured right foot, but it bounces up at the wrong time and the ball flies high into the stands behind Sommer's goal.

WE ARE UNDERWAY!

The ball is rolling again in Freiburg for a second successive week on a Friday night to start the Bundesliga weekend of action.

SPECIAL HOME KIT

Freiburg are wearing a one-off shirt this evening, with red and white stripes rather than their usual red and black stripes. There are only 1,904 shirts on sale at the club's home shop - celebrating the club's founding year - and every sale will see 10 Euros donated to local charities in Freiburg supporting disadvantaged children and young adults in the Black Forest area.

WHAT ARE THEY PLAYING FOR?

A win for the home side will see Freiburg go within one point of Hoffenheim in 7th place in the table, with a late push for Europa League qualification a realistic possibility for Christian Streich and his side. Meanwhile, Gladbach have almost certainly secured European football and want to make sure it is the Champions League for them next season. A win this evening will see them go above RB Leipzig into third overnight, and within one point of Borussia Dortmund in second.

DOUCOURE WAITING IN THE WINGS

It was a special weekend for Mamadou Doucoure last Sunday when he finally made his Bundesliga debut for Gladbach almost four years to the day since joining the club from Paris Saint-Germain. The 22-year-old French centre-back is on the bench today and could make his second appearance for the side from the bench should he be called upon. Doucoure is one of two centre-backs on the Gladbach bench for Marco Rose.

THE POWER OF PLEA AND THURAM

Plea is the fourth player across Europe’s top five leagues to reach double figures for both goals and assists this season, after Bayern’s Serge Gnabry, Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho and Lionel Messi of Barcelona. He reached that mark with a goal and two assists in the win over Union last weekend. Plea and Thuram are the joint-leading scorers for Rose’s squad with 10 goals each, proving that French friendship in attack is a worthwhile thing.

FREIBURG'S FOAL-PROOF PLAN

Freiburg have won 11 and lost just one of their last 17 home Bundesliga meetings with the Foals, and are unbeaten in the last 11 (W9), a club record run. They have scored 51 times in Bundesliga games against Gladbach, the joint-most in their history against any top-flight opponent.

HOME ADVANTAGE FINALLY A THING AGAIN?

We've seen away sides enjoying wins more often in the weeks since the Bundesliga's return, but that could be a different story this evening. Incredibly, in their last 23 meetings, there have been no home defeats between Freiburg and Gladbach. The last away win in the fixture was a 1-0 Gladbach triumph on 23 March 2002.

FREIBURG TEAM NEWS

The home side make just one change for this evening's game with Luca Waldschmidt in for the club's all-time top scorer Nils Petersen. Last season Waldschmidt grabbed a goal and an assist as Freiburg beat Gladbach 3-1 at home, while this is Freiburg's youngest line-up in 2020 so far, at just 26.2 years old on average.

GLADBACH TEAM NEWS

It's an unchanged side for Marco Rose from the one that beat Union Berlin 4-1 last weekend at Borussia-Park. Marcus Thuram and Alassane Plea lead the Foals' attack once again as the main scoring hope for tonight's sway side.
