ADDED TIME
We'll have four minutes of added time here at the end of the second half...
89'
WORKING HARD
The away side are now keeping the ball in the Mainz half, and at least frustrating the home side further. They've also worked harder, collectively covering over four kilometres (2.5 miles) more.
85'
FINAL FIVE...
Augsburg are looking to take advantage of counter-attacks while Mainz keep the ball and work their way forward. Will something give here, or are Augsburg going home victorious?
81'
SZALAI SHOT DEFLECTED
Mainz keep on pushing as Boetius finds Szalai and his shot from the edge of the Augsburg box is blocked behind. It's going to be a long final 10 minutes here for the away side.
78'
OXFORD ON
More defensive help for Augsburg here as Oxford comes on for Gruezo. No team has conceded more second half goals than Augsburg, but they're holding Mainz here.
77'
FINAL CHANGES
Szalai and Fernandes come on for Öztunali and Latza as Mainz make a final push for an equaliser with 13 minutes to play.
73'
ALL THAT'S LACKING IS A GOAL
Mainz have had more possession, more than double the passes of Augsburg, won more tackles and had double the corners but all that's lacking is a goal here.
70'
DOUBLE CHANGE
Niederlechner and Framberger are off, with Jedvaj and Löwen coming on. Augsburg on the back foot here.
68'
FRAMBERGER BOOKED
A late challenge from the right-back on Boetius sees him cautioned.
65'
HOME CHANGE
An attacking move for the home side as Boetius comes on from the bench for defensive midfielder Barreiro.
62'
DOUBLE CHANGE
As you can see, fresh legs are on in the Augsburg attack. Hahn and Finnbogason are on for Richter and Bazee.
62'
HUGE CHANCE FOR VARGAS!
Augsburg break down the right with Bazee and he cuts the ball back into the middle for Vargas to hit at goal from close range. He can't curl it back on target enough and it clips the side-netting, much to his frustration. Augsburg may not get many more of these big chances...
57'
BACK ON TOP
Mainz have had plenty of the ball again here in the last few minutes and are keeping Augsburg pinned back in their own half. They've produced 11 attempts on goal already in this game but have found no recipe to beat Luthe.
52'
ONISIWO WITH A FLICK
A corner from Brosinski goes towards the near post and Onisiwo meets it, flicking the ball beautifully towards goal. It had power behind it as well, but Luthe was perfectly placed to gather.
49'
OFF THE BAR
The away side have made a fantastic start to this second half. Vargas sends a shot goalwards and it takes a deflection off Baku, bouncing up and over Müller and clipping the crossbar. Augsburg have also had three corners already in the opening five minutes of the second half.
46'
BACK UNDERWAY
The second half has begun and we've had a change for Mainz at the break. Ridle Baku is on in place of Philipp Mwene at right-back.

MATETA CLOSE AGAIN
It's a fine header at goal from close range after Brosinski's corner, but Luthe's save is even better to tip the ball over his own goal.

UDUOKHAI BOOKED
The Augsburg defender is cautioned for a foul on Mateta. The second of the game after Barreiro was booked for the home side.
43'
MAINZ ENDING THE HALF WELL
After Mateta's chance, it's now Onisiwo who goes close. Öztunali breaks through midfield but is challenged superbly by Gouweleeuw on the edge of the Augsburg box. The loose ball runs to the edge and is hit at goal by Onisiwo, but Luthe makes a good save. The home side now using their possession well up the pitch at the end of this first half.

UPDATE ON AWONIYI
Sky in Germany have reported that the Mainz striker is both conscious and speaking again after his head injury earlier in this game. He's currently on his way to the hospital.
40'
MATETA SO CLOSE!
Great first chance for Mainz as Mateta is played through on goal and takes the ball around Luthe, but he can't get power behind his shot at goal which dribbles past one defender, but is then cleared off the line by Max.
37'
APPROACHING THE BREAK
Mainz are still very much in control of the ball but have not found the right pass in the final third. No matter if they cross from the right or left or push through the middle, the home side's lack of cutting edge - matched with Augsburg's stout defence - has the away side ahead and comfortable. The home side still yet to register a shot on target.
32'
VARGAS FIRES WIDE
Huge chance for Augsburg as they break with plenty of bodies in pursuit. Richter finds Vargas who leads it, with Niederlechner to his left and Sarenren Bazee to the right against two Mainz defenders. But Vargas chooses to go alone, but drags his shot narrowly wide across goal.
29'
CLOSE TO A SECOND
Lovely play from Richter who keeps the ball despite dropping to the floor on the right before turning past one defender and knocking the ball beyond Brosinski. He races into the box and fires the ball across goal, but St. Juste makes a crucial block.
27'
PERSONAL RECORD FOR NIEDERLECHNER
Worth noting that the Augsburg forward's first goal in 858 minutes of football was also his 12th of the season, the most he has scored in a single Bundesliga campaign.
23'
ONISIWO ON
Karim Onisiwo is now on to replace Awoniyi. We'll provide those following our blog with any updates we get from Mainz throughout this game.
21'
PLAY CONTINUES
We had about a four-to-five minute break there but the ball is rolling again. Awoniyi has been taken off, but no substitute has come on yet for the home side.
19'
HE WON'T CONTINUE
The Mainz medical team is calling for the stretcher here and Awoniyi will not carry on here. A very difficult scene to watch, and we just hope that the 22-year-old Nigerian forward is okay.
17'
AWONIYI DOWN
The Mainz forward is down here and things do not look good. It appears the Liverpool-loanee was knocked out by a challenge in the air with Uduokhai, and landed badly on his head. He's taking treatment now.
16'
MAINZ ON THE BALL
The home side have had 67 per cent of the ball here in the opening quarter of the game, but have yet to have an attempt on the Augsburg goal.
9'
COMING OF HEADS
There are a few scratches on the heads of Philipp Max and Leven Öztunali here after a clash of heads. We'll see if the pair can carry on, but it looks likely.
7'
MAINZ LOOKING TO ANSWER
Both sides are playing compactly here in the opening minutes, with their shapes keeping most of their men towards the centre of the pitch. Mainz have had a half-chance with a Quaison header looping up into the air rather than towards goal, but have been on the ball more since the start.
1'
WHAT A START!
Inside a minute and Augsburg take the lead. It's a throw-in on the right which is cleared out to Gruezo. He heads the ball back into the box and it loops over the Mainz defence. Niederlechner makes the perfect move to get the wrong side of the defender and right side of the ball and his volley sends the ball into the ground and bouncing over Müller. His first goal in 858 minutes of football.
1'
AND WE'RE OFF!
The away side get us underway here in Mainz and we're underway.

WHAT'S AT STAKE?
Well, it doesn't get much bigger for either of these sides than this. Mainz are in 15th, one point behind Augsburg in 14th, and just three points ahead of Fortuna Düsseldorf in the relegation play-off spot. Both sides are going to be going all-out for three points knowing that it could be what secures them safety this season. For Augsburg, especially, as they face Düsseldorf next weekend.
QUAISON LOOKING FOR FORM TOO
Mainz's 12-goal top scorer Robin Quaison has also been out of form in 2020. He's scored just once in his last nine games, while others around him have picked up their game slightly, but have been unable to replicate his scoring. The Sweden international has scored two hat-tricks this season against Hertha Berlin and Werder Bremen, and would not mind adding a third to his tally for 19/20 today.
TIME FOR FLO TO GET IN THE FLOW?
Augsburg's 11-goal top scorer Florian Niederlechner is without a goal now in 857 minutes of Bundesliga action. If he can return to form for the final three games of the season it could go a long way to helping secure their place in the top-flight for next season. Meanwhile, fellow striker Finnbogason - who is on the bench today - has scored six in his last three meetings with Mainz. Watch out for him to come on if the game is calling for a hero.
DON'T CHANGE A WINNING TEAM
So no changes for Mainz today, and there's reason why. The home side's clean sheet against Frankfurt was just their fourth of the season. The last time they managed back-to-back shut-outs in the Bundesliga was in February 2016.
IN MAX, AUGSBURG TRUST
No defender league-wide has scored more than Philipp Max's eight goals this season. The Augsburg left sider has also contributed five assists, and scored the equaliser just three minutes after Anthony Modeste had given Cologne the lead late on last weekend. Whatever happens, he will be key to the away side again today.
MAINZ TEAM NEWS
The home side are unchanged today and who can blame Achim Beierlorzer for not tweaking his team after their fantastic 2-0 win at Eintracht Frankfurt last time out. Philipp Mwene continues at right-back despite Ridle Baku's return from suspension, leaving him on the bench.
AUGSBURG TEAM NEWS
Just the one change to the Augsburg side which got a 1-1 draw at home to Cologne last Sunday. Jeffry Gouweleeuw is fit to start and comes in ahead of Tin Jedvaj.
