GLIMPSE INTO THE FUTURE

Chris Richards, 20, and Jamal Musiala, 17, make their Bundesliga debuts. This Bayern team has real strength and depth, even with the likes of Davies, Gnabry and Alaba missing.

HEADS UP

Freiburg deserve credit, but they just haven't managed to test Sven Ulreich since the restart. With Wolfsburg and Hoffenheim both winning, their hopes of UEFA Europa League qualification are about to be ended. With only a game left, they're four points off the pace.

EVERYTHING BUT THE FINISH FROM CUISANCE

Michael Cuisance does everything right as he shifts into the Freiburg box. The initial ball for Thomas Müller is on the money and he continues his run, but you can see he's caught in two minds when he takes on the return pass. Instead of precision, he goes for full-blown power and shanks wide. Müller is first on the scene to offer a few words of encouragement. That's why he's captain in Neuer's absence.

NOT OVER YET

Freiburg should be commended for their approach this second half. Better teams have rolled over at 3-1 down at the Allianz Arena, but they're snapping at the heels of the Bayern players and throwing men forward in search of a way back.

REDEMPTION

Lucas Hernandez's first-time pass is picked off by Kwon. He powers into the Bayern box, but his cross is intercepted by Hernandez before Petersen can pounce. Superb recovery.

ONE CHANGE

Kwon Chang-hoon is on for Rolland Sallai, who was anonymous in the first half. Long way back for Freiburg, you feel...

BEND IT LIKE MÜLLER

Freiburg play themselves into trouble on the edge of their own area. Thomas Müller only has one thing on his mind, but his curling effort is beaten away by Schwolow.

LEWY AT THE DOUBLE!

Bayern restore their two-goal lead. It's an effortlessly flowing attack, started by Michael Cuisance. The ball is shifted out left in stages, before Lucas Hernandez threads into the six-yard box for Lewandowski to divert beyond Schwolow on the stretch. That's 33 goals for the season for the Pole - he needs seven more to tie Gerd Müller's record...

HÖLER PULLS ONE BACK

Well, well, well. Lucas Höler pokes over the line from close range after Jonathan Schmid's attempt to fire under Sven Ulreich from a tight angle takes a telling deflection off the Bayern stopper's right leg. Can't say they deserve it...

LEWANGOAAAAAAALSKI!

This could get ugly for Freiburg. Thomas Müller is almost on bended knee as he collects a raking long ball on the stretch and spins his marker to slip in Leon Goretzka. Alexander Schwolow can only parry, and Lewandowski gobbles up the rebound to head into the unguarded net. That's 32 goals this season for the Bayern No.9 - a record for a non-German national in the Bundesliga!

FREIBURG RESPOND

The visitors enjoy their first meaningful passage of play in the Bayern half as Vincenzo Grifo advances up the left. He's surrounded by red shirts, though, and can only whip his cross into the arms of Sven Ulreich.
16'

KIMMICH!

Well, that was coming. Thomas Müller clips a pass into the feet of Lewandowski, who has his back to goal. He holds off his man, waiting for the red shirts to arrive in support. Kimmich is first to it on the edge of the box, and calmly passes Lewy's lay-off into the bottom corner. Deserved lead for Bayern.

SINGH-ING DRIVE

Ooof! Almost a first Bundesliga goal for Sarpreet Singh. The New Zealand international gets right behind Leon Goretzka's knock-down, but a deflection takes his rising strike out for a corner. That was travelling - and looked to be heading right for the roof of the net.

ONE-WAY TRAFFIC

Bayern are most definitely not in party mode. They're knocking the ball about with real purpose, and dominating in the early stages of this one. Hansi Flick's men are probably playing better football than in their last two against Gladbach and Bremen...

WIDE FROM MÜLLER

Leon Goretzka advances with intent towards the edge of the Freiburg area. Bayern's No.18 plays the ball to Müller, half-expecting to receive the return pass, but Bayern's spave invader - celebrating his 350th Bundesliga appearance - swivels and drags wide on his weaker left foot. He's not happy with that effort.

BAYERN ON THE PROWL

Strong start from the champions, who win back-to-back-corners. Kimmich plays the second short before collecting the return pass and causing all manner of problems with his ensuing cross into the Freiburg area. After a spot of pinball, the visitors clear their lines.

TALE OF TWO STRIKERS

Bayern's Lewandowski still has Gerd Müller's 40-goal single-season record in his sights. He's on 31 for the current campaign, but has hit 15 goals in as many games against Freiburg, including five braces. Freiburg counterpart Nils Petersen, who helped himself to two goals in nine Bundesliga appearances for Bayern in 2011/12, is on 11 for the current campaign, including three from the bench across his last four. The 31-year-old former Germany international has two goals to show for his five meetings to date with his former employers.

OCEANIA'S MESUT ÖZIL?

That's the label Sarpreet Singh's been given. According to New Zealand media, Bayern first caught a glimpse of his abilities when he played against one of the club's youth teams on a tour of Europe. He was just 11 at the time. Ten years on - almost 12 months after making the switch from Wellington Phoenix - the 21-year-old playmaker is set to become the first player of Indian descent and first from New Zealand to start a Bundesliga match in the red of Germany's record champions. His only previous outing for the first team was as a late substitute in the 6-1 rout of Werder Bremen on Matchday 15. In 22 3. Liga outings so far this term, Singh has registered seven goals and as many assists.

WHO IS CHRIS RICHARDS?

One of the unsung heroes of 3. Liga leaders Bayern II, that's who! The American defender, 20, initially joined Bayern on trial from FC Dallas, before signing a one-year loan followed by a permanent deal. Impressive displays with the U19s were rewarded with a place in the newly promoted reserve-team squad ahead of the 2019/20 campaign, and he's now a regular at the heart of Sebastian Hoeneß's preferred back four. The USA U20 international has scored four 3. Liga goals, too!

YOUNG BAYERN BENCH

With the exception of 34-year-old Neuer, it's a very youthful Bayern bench today. Kingsley Coman and Alvaro Odriozola are 10 years younger than the Bayern No.1; the rest of Flick's back-up charges are 20 or younger. Jamal Musiala is the youngest of the lot, aged 17!

MORE ON THAT BAYERN TEAM

With the title signed, sealed and delivered, Hansi Flick rings the changes, starting in goal where Sven Ulreich gets a rare run-out in place of captain Manuel Neuer. Alphonso Davies is suspended and David Alaba rested, so Lucas Hernandez and Javi Martinez come into the back four. Further forward, Michael Cuisance makes his second start of the campaign, and there's a full Bundesliga debut for New Zealand international Sarpreet Singh.

MORE ON THAT FREIBURG TEAM

Freiburg's all-time leading scorer Nils Petersen starts against his former club, after coming off the bench to supply the winner against Hertha Berlin in midweek. Luca Waldschmidt makes way, while Lino Tempelmann makes his full debut, with Robin Koch and Janik Haberer sidelined.
