SHARING THE SPOILS

Baker smashed the free-kick at goal himself, but couldn't beat the wall. It would have been a special end to a difficult second half for both sides with neither able to totally find their rhythm. Two first half goals from Gießelmann and Weghorst kept us level, as Wolfsburg go second overnight.

FREE-KICK ON THE EDGE...

Great work from Baker as he beats Victor to a loose ball from a clearance just outside the Wolfsburg box, and Klaus brings him down. A final chance for Fortuna to win this game from a free-kick.

ADDED TIME!

We're now into three minutes of added time here in Düsseldorf...

KLAUS GOES SO CLOSE

Weghorst's low cross goes to the near post and is met by the run of Klaus. He hits the ball well, but it just clips the inside of Steffen's right leg and bounces wide of goal. If it happened have been for that block, it would be 2-1 to Wolfsburg.
82'

WEGHORST HEADS AT GOAL

Great defending from Bormuth to challenge the Dutchman as William's cross curled into the box. It meant that Weghorst's header at goal was a far less powerful one than normal, and Steffen saves easily in the end.
80'

AYHAN DOWN

The centre-back is struggling with a knock he felt earlier in the game and he could be coming off to be replaced by Kasim Adams, the man signed from Hoffenheim. Although, Ayhan doesn't look like he wants to leave this game yet.
76'

INTO THE LAST 15

This is the decisive period of the game, and two creative players have been brought on by each team. However, both sides are still winning the game with their defensive work so far. Neither goalkeeper has had to make a save in this second half.

CAN KLAUS BE THE DIFFERENCE-MAKER?

The first change of the game sees Felix Klaus on for Mehmedi...
64'

SECOND HALF NEEDING A SPARK

Both sides look to have been able to figure each other out for the most part here. It's a struggle for both Fortuna and Wolfsburg to break each other down. A change of personnel or tactics might be in order here...
59'

BREKALO DOWN

An unfortunate challenge from Baker gives Brekalo a knock on the shin. He's up and looks fine to continue, but it looked painful.
55'

BREKALO FIRES OVER

Wolfsburg have struggled to create much in this second half, but an opening for Brekalo sees him cut inside onto his right foot from the left, only for his shot to fly over the crossbar.
51'

FORTUNA COUNTER FLUFFED

A superb run from Lewis Baker is let down by a pass from Hennings. The English midfielder powered forward before finding Kownacki, who then flicked the ball to Hennings. The striker was then in the middle of a 3-on-1 situation, but misplaced his pass forward and Wolfsburg were able to clear.

SECOND HALF UNDERWAY

No changes at the break as we're back in play in Düsseldorf.

AN ENTERTAINING FIRST HALF

Both sides have scored and you can certainly imagine both sides finding the net in the second half. The game is very open and end-to-end, with Wolfsburg controlling most of the ball but Fortuna happy to work with the counter-attack. Two fantastic goals with moments of individual brilliance, perhaps another moment is what will separate these two teams come full-time...

STEFFEN DENIES WOUT

The away side are the ones countering this time as Weghorst is played the ball on the edge of the box. He cuts a shot at goal towards the near post, but Steffen is equal to it before his defence clears the ball on the rebound.
41'

FORTUNA PRESSING HARD

The home support is getting right behind their team and who can blame them when they see the effort and desire to win every ball being shown by the players on the pitch. Not giving Wolfsburg an inch to breathe, Fortuna are making Wolfsburg work here.
36'

BREAKLO THE NUTMEG KING

Here's a stat for you: Wolfsburg's Josip Brekalo recorded 15 nutmegs last season, only Jadon Sancho had more, and he now already has his second of this season, and it helped him provide an assist for a goal.
29'

THAT MAN WOUT AGAIN!

It's Weghorst's goal, but this is all about the assist. Brekalo is played the ball down the right wing and goes one-on-one with Bormuth. He produces an incredible scoop-turn through his legs before reaching the byline and cutting the ball back for Weghorst to tap home. His fifth goal in three games against Fortuna.

FORTUNA PUSHING ON

The atmosphere is pushing the home side on here as they continue to go on the search for a counter-attack. Wolfsburg remain in control of the ball for the majority, but have been unable to conjure anything serious on goal thus far.
17'

GOAL STANDS!

After a VAR check, Nico Gießelmann's strike stands and the home side have the lead. Neutral fans will be so happy to have seen such a stunning goal count, and that one will certainly be among those nominated for September's Goal of the Month.

WHAT A GOAL!

You wait for your first-ever Bundesliga goal for so long, and one comes along like that. An absolute piledriver from the left-back as he races on to a loose ball in the box before smashing it into the roof of the net. However, VAR is checking as it appeared that the ball may have gone out of play in the build-up...

MEHMEDI FIRES OVER...

Lovely build-up play as Brekalo finds William in space with a pin-point pass to the wing. The full-back finds Mehmedi in a good position, but the offside flag comes up as he goes for goal. He's saved his blushes after the ball sailed over Fortuna's crossbar.
12'

MEHMEDI DOWN...

The Swiss forward has taken a knock to his back. He's currently receiving treatment and will hopefully be able to continue.
8'

WOLFSBURG IN COMMAND

The away side in total control of this game so far, dominating possession and keeping Fortuna in their own half. The home side are well structured, though, and keeping a good shape making it hard for them to be broken down. They will be looking to catch Wolfsburg on the counter.
4'

FIRST CHANCE!

Big double chance for the visitors as William's cross into the box is deflected and falls to Brekalo. His effort is saved by Steffen, and the rebound falls to Arnold. He has to go on his weaker right-foot and drags his effort wide of goal. A let-off for the hosts!

UNDERWAY IN DÜSSELDORF!

The opening game of the weekend is underway and this should be a great one. Both sides have played good, confident football so far this season and are looking to continue that tonight.
キックオフ

WOUTS FAVOURITE OPPONENTS

Wolfsburg's Dutch striker has been involved in seven goals in just two games against Fortuna Düsseldorf. Four goals and three assists for the centre-forward. More to come tonight?

WOLVES LEAPING TO THE TOP?

Wolfsburg could go top for a night if they pick up all three points in Düsseldorf. It will only be three points, though, that get them to that top spot. Currently sitting two points behind RB Leipzig alongside Bayern and Leverkusen. The early pace-setters will not want to let up.

ANOTHER STEFFEN SHOW?

No goalkeeper has made as many saves this season as Fortuna's Zack Steffen. The USMNT No.1 has made 20 saves, how many will he have to make tonight to help the home side get their desired result? With Wout Weghorst, Admir Mehmedi and Josip Brekalo coming at him, he may well have his work cut out.

BAKER BACK

The Englishman had started the opening two games of the season before being replaced by Alfredo Morales on Matchday 3 and 4. The USA international has returned from the break injured, though, handing Baker another Bundesliga start.

CHANGES FOR WOLFSBURG

Oliver Glasner has reacted from the draw at home to Paderborn before the international break with four changes to his side tonight. Pervan comes in for the injured Casteels in goal, while Tisserand is also in for the injured Brooks. Another injury sees Schlager replaced by Gerhardt, while Mehmedi starts in place of Victor.

WOLFSBURG STARTING XI!

Pervan - Knoche, Guilavogui (c), Tisserand - William, Gerhardt, Arnold, Roussillon - Mehmedi, Weghorst, Brekalo (SUBS:  Menzel, Bruma, Mbabu, Victor, Klaus, Steffen, Malli, Rexhbecaj)

FORTUNA STARTING XI!

LINE-UPS COMING UP!
