EHIZIBUE OFF INJURED
The right-back is replaced after appearing to strain his right calf, with Schmitz coming on in his place.
80'
EHIZIBUE BOOKED
The Cologne full-back is cautioned for time-wasting here.
78'
HUGE CHANCE!
That's the best chance Gladbach have had in this second half. Ginter's cross from deep bounces awkwardly into the box and runs through for Stindl to meet. His first touch sets him up perfectly but his second sends the ball high and wide over the Cologne goal from 10 yards out.

JANTSCHKE BOOKED
A third yellow of the day for Gladbach with Jantschke now in the book for bringing down Özcan.

COLOGNE ON THE COUNTER
Duda has already seen a shot saved by Sommer and again the away side are working on the counter-attack late on here. Rexhbecaj and Jakobs have seen shots blocked by the Gladbach defence in the last few minutes, too.
68'
COLOGNE ORGANISED
The Cologne defence is making life so difficult for Gladbach here, allowing only two shots on target so far. Still time for things to change but if Cologne can keep this up they could come away with a massive three points.

BIG CHANCE!
Duda fires a low shot across goal from the right side of the Gladbach box and Sommer pulls off a fantastic save, and vital one too, to keep the ball out.

REINFORCEMENTS ON!
Plea, Thuram and Hofmann all come on for Rose's side with Gladbach not letting their big names wait in the wings any longer. Thielmann is on for Dennis in attack for Cologne.
55'
ELVIS AT THE DOUBLE!
Cologne are back in front 10 minutes into the second half! Gladbach give the ball away just outside their own area with Lainer's pass intercepted by Rexhbecaj. He gets onto the loose ball in the Gladbach area and slides the ball through Sommer's legs with a fine finish.
54'
EMBOLO IN BEHIND
A lovely pass from Neuhaus splits the Cologne defence to find Embolo in the box. He's about to shoot and surely put the ball past Horn, but Mere slides in and makes a fantastic last-ditch challenge to block the ball behind.
51'
STINDL HAS A GO
The Gladbach captain with the first shot on goal of the second half but this is one is always rising as it goes high over Horn and the Cologne goal from 20+ yards.
48'
ZAKARIA OFF INJURED
An early second-half change for the hosts with Kramer on for Zakaria, who is heading away for more treatment.
47'
ZAKARIA DOWN
The midfielder has gone down early here with a right knee complaint and it looks like he'll have to come off.
46'
SECOND HALF BEGINS!
The ball is rolling again in Gladbach with hail coming down to add to the derby night feel.

ADDED TIME
Just the one minute of added time at the end of the first half.
41'
APPROACHING THE BREAK
Just two shots on target in this game so far, one for each side, and each of them producing goals in the first half. Chances on goal have been few and far between since then in what has been a very even game.
38'
STILL PROBING
Duda does well to spot the run of Ehizibue into the Gladbach box but the wing-back can't get an effort on target as he has to slide in an attempt to reach the ball. Cologne doing well, though, to still get forward despite Gladbach's pressing efforts.

JAKOBS DOES WELL
A mistake at the back for Gladbach lets Jakobs in down the left. He dribbles in and out past Lainer before dinking the ball across goal, but the Gladbach defence recovers to clear that chance away.
27'
HERRMANN BOOKED
A second yellow card for a Gladbach player with Herrmann cautioned for a foul on Skhiri.
25'
ONE STEP BEHIND
Cologne just losing their grip on this game now. Some bright moments of skill from Özcan in midfield but when they do win the ball back, Cologne have been unable to keep it for long with Gladbach giving them a taste of their own pressing medicine.
23'
NEUHAUS ON FIRE
The Gladbach midfielder has now matched his best scoring record for a season with four already in 2020/21. Each of his last five goals in the Bundesliga have come at home.
19'
TAKING CONTROL
Gladbach have found their feet in this game now and with the scores level again, they're keeping the ball for longer periods. Embolo and Neuhaus are starting to get into the game more and more in an attacking way with Cologne having some defending to do.
16'
NEUHAUS LEVELS IT!
The hosts are back level with Gladbach's first real chance on goal. Stindl finds Neuhaus in a touch of space on the edge of the Cologne box but as he shoots, there as a host of bodies in front of him. His shot deflects off two players, lastly Mere, as it goes past a stranded Horn in the away goal.

COLOGNE IN THE DERBY SPIRIT

PRESSING HARD
Superb work in these opening 15 minutes from Cologne. They have brought the energy levels so far with the forwards pressing the Gladbach defence hard and fast, winning the ball back by forcing mistakes already.

EMBOLO FIRES WIDE
A first half-chance for the home side as Wolf cuts the ball back into the middle for Embolo, but he hits an acrobatic volley high over the crossbar.
6'
COLOGNE CONFIDENT
The visitors look far from afraid in the opening minutes here and who can blame them having taken the lead so early on. Rexhbecaj is finding plenty of space in midfield already, as well, as he looks to continue as the creative spark for Cologne.
3'
WHAT A START FOR COLOGNE!
A goal inside three minutes of Cologne to lead early on here. Özcan slots the ball through for Rexhbecaj in the middle and he cuts past Zakaria before shooting at goal from just inside the Gladbach area. It takes a small deflection past Sommer and the away side are in front!
2'
STINDL BOOKED
The Gladbach captain is cautioned inside two minutes for a rash foul on Rexhbecaj in midfield.

COLOGNE FINDING FORM TOO
Gisdol's side have recorded two wins from their last three - as many three-point hauls as across their previous 26.
FOALS IN FORM
With four wins and two draws, Gladbach are - along with Eintracht Frankfurt - the only unbeaten Bundesliga team in 2021.

RHINE DERBY EXPLAINED IN 99 SECONDS
SET-PIECE KINGS
The Foals have scored a league-high 16 of their 36 Bundesliga goals in 2020/21 from set-pieces (44 percent) despite Marco Rose admitting that his side do not train them. Cologne are next on the list with seven of 18 (39 percent).
TALE OF THE DERBY TAPE
Cologne have won 25 of the 91 Bundesliga derbies against Gladbach, losing 51. The Billy Goats have lost to the Foals more than any other team in the Bundesliga.
GLADBACH TEAM NEWS
Goalkeeper Sommer was the only first-choice player rested in midweek, with Sippel standing in, but Thuram and Hofmann lead a laundry list of players who have been rotated this time with next Sunday's trip to fellow European aspirants Wolfsburg on the horizon. Wolf, Wendt and Zakaria are among those to come in.
COLOGNE TEAM NEWS
Ehizibue is preferred to Schmitz at right-back. Coach Gisdol was optimistic about how many players he would have at his disposal, although Bornauw's back trouble has not been so easily dismissed, while Hector has a muscle strain. Meyer is pushing for a Cologne debut from the bench with Rexhbecaj and Skhiri starting in midfield.

COLOGNE INJURY WORRIES
Markus Gisdol's side picked up a vital win against Bielefeld last week, thanks in large part to a brace from midfielder Marius Wolf. However, he is a major doubt with an ankle injury this time, while influential captain Jonas Hector is struggling with muscular complaints that could force him to sit this one out. That could provide an opportunity for new signing Max Meyer to come in from the start, however.
FORM
Cologne may be near the foot of the table, but they have done well in recent weeks. After starting 2021 with back-to-back defeats to Augsburg and Freiburg, they have taken seven of the last available 12 points thanks to victories over fellow strugglers Schalke and Bielefeld, while they also drew with Hertha Berlin. Gladbach are unbeaten in six league outings this year, drawing two and winning four - including beating both Bayern and Dortmund.
HISTORY ON GLADBACH'S SIDE
The Foals have won 51 of the 91 Bundesliga meetings between these teams, more than double Cologne's tally (25). Gladbach have taken maximum points in each of the last three games against the Billy Goats, including a 3-1 away win on Matchday 3 in October last year.
THE STAKES
As well as enjoying local bragging rights with victory in this Rhine derby, there is plenty on the line for both teams. Gladbach are currently seventh in the standings, just three points off the top four prior to Matchday 20. They can ill afford any slip-up as they pursue a Champions League spot, especially with Wolfsburg and Frankfurt in the hunt this season too. For Cologne, meanwhile, it is all about survival. Just one point ahead of 16th-placed Bielefeld, they need to put a run of results together to avoid a relegation battle.
