ALL SQUARE

It's all over at the PreZero Arena. The match opened up a bit towards the end of the second half but neither side was able to find a breakthrough and so settle for a point apiece. Thanks for joining us!

BAILEY SHOOTS!

A loose ball comes to Bailey just outside the Hoffenheim area. He gets a shot away but Baumann watches it all the way and gets down to make a routine save.

THREE MORE MINUTES

We're into stoppage time now, three minutes left to play...
88'

AKPUGUMA INJURED

The Hoffenheim defender looks a bit worse for wear after a hefty tackle. He can't continue, so is replaced by Nordtveit.
86'

ON COMES BAILEY

Can the Jamaican winger be the man to break the deadlock in the closing stages?
78'

SECOND SUB FOR HOFFENHEIM

Skov makes way for Rutter, who scored as a substitute on his league debut against Bremen on Matchday 22.
76'

GOOD FROM FRIMPONG

The Leverkusen sub skips past two or three defenders on the right wing and gets into the box, but stumbles on the ball at a crucial moment and Hoffenheim can clear.
73'

LOVELY FROM HOFFENHEIM

The hosts show a glimpse of what they're capable of going forward, slicing through Leverkusen down the right with some crisp, one-touch passing. Kaderabek gets to the byline and stands a cross up into the middle, but Jedvaj is first to it and heads clear.
71'

NEXT CHANGE

Demirbay makes way for January signing Frimpong, who makes his eighth Bundesliga appearance.
69'

BENDER RISING TO THE OCCASION

The Leverkusen centre-back has won more challenges than anyone else on the field so far.

CHANCE FOR AMIRI!

Aranguiz wins possession deep in the Hoffenheim half and passes it to Schick, lurking on the edge of the box. He nudges it further to his left to the unmarked Amiri, but the midfielder's first-time shot is tame and it's an easy save for Baumann.
64'

FINAL BALL LACKING

Both teams just managed to string together some neat, one-touch passing going forward, but both attacks broke down before they got dangerous due to a poor final ball.
62'

MIDFIELD BATTLE

Both teams have packed the middle of the park when not in possession and are making life tough to break them down. There's plenty of pressing and a lot of tackles, but not a great deal going on in either goalmouth at present.
58'

DOUBLE CHANGE FOR LEVERKUSEN

Wolf bids to shake up what has so far been a shot-shy Leverkusen attack by bringing on Schick and Amiri for Alario and Wirtz.
57'

OVER FROM DIABY

The Leverkusen wriggles clear inside the Hoffenheim area and shoots with his weaker right foot, but it's well off target.
55'

LEVERKUSEN FREE-KICK

Wirtz is fouled by Grillitsch about 40 yards from goal in a central position. The visitors try to execute a training-ground routine as Demirbay shapes to shoot before dinking it over the wall into the box, but it's straight to a Hoffenheim head and the ball is cleared.
50'

KRAMARIC IN SPACE!

The Hoffenheim striker has some room for the first time in this game, on the left-hand side of the Leverkusen box. He cuts inside on to his right foot and gets a shot off, but it's blocked by a defender's leg.

UNDER WAY AGAIN

Leverkusen get the ball rolling in the second half.

EVEN STEVENS

Hoffenheim had the better start and forged a couple of promising openings, without taking advantage of them. Leverkusen got better as the half wore on and had a couple of half-chances themselves, but it's all square at the break.

RUDY DOWN

The Hoffenheim midfielder receives treatment after seeming to hurt his hamstring. He looks like he'll be ok to continue for the time being.
30'

CHANCE FOR BAUMGARTNER!

Hoffenheim work the ball well down the right and Kaderabek floats a crosstowards the back post, where Baumgartner is arriving, 10 yards out. He goes for a diving header, but the ball takes a deflection on its way over and the midfielder can't readjust in time. Leverkusen breathe a sigh of relief.

WIRTZ PROBING

The Leverkusen teenager has invariably been involved whenever the visitors have got forward so far.
25'

ARANGUIZ DENIED BY BAUMANN!

This is the closest Leverkusen have come as Aranguiz plays a one-two with Wendell on the edge of the Hoffenheim box, collecting the return ball deep inside the area. The Chilean shows some lovely footwork to slip past a defender and get a fierce left-footed shot away, but Baumann is alert and parries it over.
24'

LEVERKUSEN ALMOST IN!

A lovely ball from Wirtz, who slides a pass from the middle into Diaby's run from the right as he charges into the box. The Frenchman immediately tries to pick out Alario in the middle, but his pass just lacks a bit of accuracy and a Hoffenheim leg pokes it clear.
20'

CHANCE FOR WIRTZ!

Leverkusen's clearest opening so far as Wirtz finds space in the box with just Akpoguma to beat. He twists this way and that as he tries to get a shot away, but takes too long and is eventually crowded out.
18'

TEASING FROM SKOV

Jedvaj fouls Baumgartner just outside the Leverkusen penalty area, wide on the left. Skov takes the free-kick and delivers an inviting ball across the six-yard box between the goalkeeper and the defence. It just needs a touch from an attacker, but nobody has gambled on it and the ball rolls clear.
16'

HOSTS EDGING IT

It's still early days of course, but this perhaps gives an indication as to why Hoffenheim have looked a bit more dangerous going forward: they're not shying away from the tackles.

LEVERKUSEN FREE-KICK

Grillitsch fouls Demirbay in Hoffenheim's half. The Leverkusen midfielder takes the ensuing free-kick and swings it into the penalty area, finding Tapsoba at the back post, but the defender can only cushion it down to a Hoffenheim shirt and the ball is cleared.
11'

NEXT HOFFENHEIM GLIMPSE

Skov picks up the ball on the left and dribbles towards the edge of the Leverkusen area. He gets a shot away but it's wide of the target and Hradecky doesn't need to intervene. Still, it's another sign of Hoffenheim's early pressure here.
8'

BEBOU AGAIN

The Hoffenheim forward causes some mischief once more on the left, finding space to pick out a cross into the middle. It's low towards the penalty spot, but Aranguiz is first to it and is able to hook clear.
6'

FIRST PROMISING ATTACK

Grillitsch wins the ball deep in his own half and plays a clever ball for Bebou to chase in the inside left channel. For a moment he looks like he'll get away from the Leverkusen defence, but Sven Bender is able to dart in to poke the ball off his toe for a corner.
3'

HIGH PRESSING

Both teams have begun aggressively, attacking the other high in the opposition half in a bid to force early mistakes. Possession is switching sides every few seconds though, with defenders unwilling to take any chances at the back and instead opting for long balls out of the danger zone.

AND WE’RE OFF!

The hosts get the ball rolling at the PreZero Arena.

HISTORY ON LEVERKUSEN'S SIDE

Leverkusen have won 15 of the teams' 25 Bundesliga meetings to date, and ran out 4-1 winners in the reverse fixture earlier this season. Hoffenheim have taken maximum points on six occasions, including the last two on home turf, with four draws.

THE STAKES

Leverkusen remain sixth in the standings following the weekend's results, but victories for fifth-placed Borussia Dortmund and fourth-placed Eintracht Frankfurt mean Die Werkself need to follow suit here if they are to keep up the pace in the hunt for European qualification. Union Berlin's draw with Bayern leaves them just three points points Wolf's side, so victory here would give them a bit more breathing space. Hoffenheim, meanwhile, are in 12th spot on 30 points. Bielefeld's win over Freiburg on Friday lifted them to 16th place with 26 points, so Hoeneß's charges are by no means clear of relegation danger yet

HOFFENHEIM TEAM NEWS

There are also three changes for Hoffenheim, as Akpogua, Sessegnon and Skov come in for Samassekou, John and Rutter.

LEVERKUSEN TEAM NEWS

Leverkusen coach Hannes Wolf has made three changes to the side that beat Schalke 2-1 last week, with Jedvaj, Diaby and Wirtz coming into the line-up for Tah, Bellarabi and Amiri, who all begin on the bench.
