WATCH: BITTENCOURT: "WE SHOULD'VE GOT MORE FROM THE GAME"

SARGENT HEADER!

Probably the last chance here as Bittencourt's cross is met by Sargent ahead of Wolf in the middle, but his header finds the hands of Zieler on his goalline.

ADDED TIME

We're now into three minutes of stoppage time at the end of this one. Bremen still on top here, but Cologne defending well.

BREMEN'S SAVIOUR?

86'

BITTENCOURT FIRES OVER

The scorer of Bremen's equaliser takes aim with a free-kick 20 yards from goal, but can't curl it on target having beaten the wall.
84'

BREMEN LOOKING FOR A WINNER

The home side have their goal to bring the game level, but they are not satisfied here. They're going for a late win.
82'

BITTENCOURT EQUALISES!

Against his former club, Bittencourt slots home his second goal of the season by sending Zieler the wrong way with his penalty.

BREMEN PENALTY!

A handball against Bornauw in the box after great work from Chong on the left to battle and whip in a cross, and Bremen have a spot-kick.
80'

INTO THE FINAL 10..

It's all Bremen here now, with Cologne camped around their own penalty area. The question now is, can the home side break them down and find an equaliser?
74'

NEEDING MORE

Chong and Möhwald are on with Kohfeldt forced to take action here. Time is ticking, and his side are heading for a first defeat in five games as things stand.
73'

DOUBLE CHANGE

Young, fresh legs come on for Gisdol's side in Horn and Thielmann, replacing Katterbach and Drexler. Cologne looking to hold onto what would be a smash-and-grab three points here.
70'

AN UNWANTED RECORD

Moisander's own-goal is the 62nd in Bremen's long Bundesliga history - the most of any club.
67'

COLOGNE AHEAD!

Perhaps that was the kind of goal needed to spark this game into life. Duda curls in a free-kick from the left and it's heading the back post. Moisander is forced to get onto it with Czichos just behind him, but he can only flick the ball into his own net with his outstretched right leg.

QUICK BOOKING FOR OSAKO

Two minutes after coming on and Osako is in the book. A late challenge on Katterbach in his own half.
61'

ANDERSSON ON TARGET

Finally Cologne get themselves a shot on target as Wolf curls a cross from the right and Andersson meets it in the centre of goal, 10 yards out, but his header bounces safely into Pavlenka's hands. Surely more crosses are on the menu for the Billy Goats with the Swede leading the attack...

BITTENCOURT NEXT

Sargent doesn't well to keep the ball with Cologne bodies around him on the edge of the away side's box. He turns into space and finds Bittencourt, who shoots goalward but has his effort blocked by Bornauw. Bremen by far the more attacking side in this second half.
55'

RASHICA HAS A GO

The first real bit of time and space on the ball for Rashica as he's given the ball by Sargent after a pass from Toprak. Rashica quickly turns a shoot at goal looking to loop the ball over Zieler, but this one doesn't come off for him.
51'

SO CLOSE FOR SARGENT

A long ball is flicked into the Cologne box and bounces through to Sargent, who is battling with Özcan to reach the loose ball. Zieler is out well to gather just ahead of the Bremen forward before he could get a shot away.
48'

BREMEN ON THE BALL

Possession is staying with the home side in the opening minutes of this second, but only across their defence. Cologne aren't pressing the hosts' backline, but are crowding any pass attempted forward.
46'

BACK UNDERWAY!

No changes at the break for either side here in the North of Germany as we get the second half underway.

HORN OFF INJURED

The Cologne goalkeeper has had to come off here in the first half with what appears to be a back issue. There was no specific moment when it could have happened in the game, so we will keep an eye out for information. Meanwhile, Rob-Robert Zieler comes on for his Cologne debut.
34'

LOOKING FOR A SPARK

So far both sides have flattered to deceive here, with plenty of creative talent on the pitch not getting on the ball long enough to make their mark. We could do with a spark into action before half-time.
31'

MBOM BOOKED

He brings down Wolf on the counter and earns the first yellow card of the night for Bremen.

MBOM FIRES OVER

Bremen latch onto a mistake in the Cologne defence and Rashica does well to spot Mbom behind him to the left of the penalty area in space. The youngster curls a first-time shot intended for the far top corner, but it drifts just over Horn's crossbar.
28'

CLOSE ONE TO CALL

Both sides are showing positive things, but neither has been able to create a strong enough move forward to force a difficult save from a goalkeeper.

WOLF BOOKED

The Dortmund loanee is cautioned for a high foot on Eggestein.
21'

SARGENT SHOT BLOCKED

Bremen keep possession well before Moisander's pass cuts through the Cologne midfield to Sargent, who has dropped deep to show for the ball. He turns and shoots quickly from 25 yards out, and a block takes it behind. Nice patient play from the hosts.
18'

SAME FOR RASHICA

A lovely turn and through ball pass for Sargent to chase into the Cologne box from Rashica. It's cleared by Czichos, but a good early show of what Bremen have been missing with Rashica out of the team.
15'

ANDERSSON GETTING INVOLVED

The Bundesliga's leading winner of aerial duels - in all of last season and again this season so far - is getting involved in the game with some aerial link-up play with Limnios and his midfield support. Cologne building some attacking pressure here.
10'

FIESTY START

Both sides have made plenty of tackles early on here, as well as each conceding three fouls in the opening 10 minutes.

GOOD START FROM LZCAN

The Germany U21 international is being tasked with holding the Cologne midfield together tonight and he's doing a good job early on. With Bittencourt and Rashica pressing he knows he won't have too much time on the ball, and so he's playing nice first-time pass forward to Duda and Drexler to keep the ball moving quickly.
6'

ALMOST FOR SARGENT

Bittencourt's ball along the ground into the Cologne box is met by Sargent, but he can't quite flick it on target with Bornauw coming in to block. The American then slips as he tries to be the first to the loose ball, and the Cologne defence clears.
4'

AS EXPECTED

You can see by checking the average positions of each player in the Bundesliga app that Cologne are indeed lining up in a 4-1-4-1, with Özcan sitting deep in midfield. A new formation for Cologne this season.
1'

FIRST CHANCE!

The hosts almost have the opener inside the first minute as Toprak's long ball is chested back towards Horn in the Cologne goal by Wolf, but Mbom is chasing him down and beats Horn to the ball. He can't beat the goalkeeper with his shot, though, and the ball is cleared after his save.

HERE WE GO!

The ball is rolling with Bremen in green and white, Cologne in red.

KICK-OFF COMING UP!

We're just a few minutes away from kick-off now in Bremen, with Cologne in town to begin our Matchday 7 action - the final Bundesliga weekend before the upcoming international break. Enjoy it while you can!

INCENTIVES FOR BOTH SIDES

A win for the hosts tonight would should Bremen up into fifth place overnight, only behind Bayer Leverkusen in fourth on goal difference. Meanwhile, Cologne are already fighting for every possible point at the over end of the table. Three tonight would take them out of the relegation play-off spot and into 14th going into Saturday and Sunday's fixtures.

NOW'S THE TIME FOR THE BILLY GOATS

Cologne are hovering unnervingly close to their negative club record of 18 top-flight games without a win, with the run currently at 16 games. However, there were shoots of promise in the 2-1 defeat to Bayern. The Billy Goats only allowed seven shots on their goal - the lowest tally the champions have managed since Hansi Flick succeeded Niko Kovac as their coach last November.

SARGENT CLAIMING RANK

Josh Sargent opened his Bundesliga account for the season against Frankfurt last time out. The young American has two goals and an assist in all competitions. The USMNT starts up front once again today and is one of five different Bundesliga scorers for Bremen in 2020/21, along with Füllkrug, Bittencourt, Selke and Eggestein, while Chong was on target in the DFB Cup first round.

RASHICA'S RETURN!

The returning Rashica was Bremen's most potent attacking force last term with 11 goals and eight assists. He has scored two and laid on two more in three career games against Cologne. This will be his first start of the season and only second appearance overall so far, looking to keep Bremen five-game unbeaten run going.

There are also two changes in the starting XI for Cologne from last week. Noah Katterbach and Dominick Drexler come in for Jannes Horn and Ellyes Skhiri (both on the bench). This will be 19-year-old Katterbach's first start of the season having made three substitute appearances so far for the Billy Goats.

BREMEN TEAM NEWS

FornWerder, Ömer Toprak and Milot Rashica come into the side from that which drew 1-1 in Frankfurt. Milos Veljkovic and Tahith Chong drop out of the starting line-ups. It's the first starts of the season for both Toprak and Rashica, who top scored for Bremen last season.
