Fürth are bottom, as Seoane touched on. They're winless, and have only one point to show for their efforts after 13 matches. Throw in their goal difference of -29, and it makes for the worst start to a Bundesliga season in history. At the opposite end of the spectrum, third-placed Leverkusen can move to within three points of second with a win.
SEOANE TALKS UP FÜRTH
"The table situation at Greuther Fürth is one thing, the performance they have shown in many games is the other," warned Leverkusen coach Gerardo Seoane at his pre-match press conference. "They try to play brave soccer and to attack their opponent early, in order to not only defend. They play with a high pressing and defend with courage. We want to prevent the opponent from getting access to the ball by circulating it faster and switching sides more quickly. We will play at home and we want to bring the energy from the last game against RB Leipzig with us. Nevertheless, every game starts from zero and we are prepared to be focused and concentrated right from the start."

Things are quite different for Fürth, who are in desperate need of fixing things after just one point from the first 13 games. Three of the back four who started the 6-3 defeat to Hoffenheim are out, with only Maximilian Bauer remaining. But the front three of Branimir Hrgota, Dickson Abiama and Jamie Leweling do get the nod again after their exploits last week.

Gerardo Seoane decides to stick with the approach of ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’ as he names the same team that started last week’s 3-1 win in Leipzig. It includes striker Patrik Schick after his recovery from an ankle injury, with Lucas Alario on the bench.
