LEIPZIG GET FIRST WIN!

Well that was quite the performance by Leipzig and Dominik Szoboszlai in particular. He marked his home debut with a wonderful opener and added another from a free-kick after Emil Forsberg stunned Stuttgart with a second goal for the home side 15 seconds into the second half. Like Szoboszlai, Andre Silva also got his first Bundesliga side as Leipzig secured an impressive first league win of the season. In the battle of the American coaches, it's Jesse Marsch who won this battle against Pellegrino Matarazzo of Stuttgart.

BOTH SIDES CHANGE UP

Both teams are making plenty of changes now but there's surely no way back for Stutgart.

Klostermann picks out Konrad Laimer with a low cross from the right and the substitute stabs the ball into the side net.

SILVA SCORES FROM THE SPOT!

Kempf is penalised for handball in the area and Silva thumps home his first Leizpig goal from the penalty spot. Müller goes the right way, but the former Eintracht attacker - who got 28 goals for the Eagles last season - is up and running for his new club.

DIDAVI ON TARGET

Stuttgart were understandably a little shellshocked but after composing themselves and seeing a couple of efforts blocked, they create a half chance to pull a goal back. Didavi holds off his man but slips as he hits a shot which is easily gathered by Gulacsi.

SZOBOSZLAI GETS HIS SECOND!

The Hungarian eyes up another free-kick from a similar position to his last one on the left, albeit a little further back. He fizzes the ball diagonally across the area and it creeps in the net! It looked like this one was intended for one of his teammates, but like all good free-kick takers Szoboszlai made sure the ball would go into the far corner if no one touched it. With Müller taking a step to his right in case anyone got a head it to it, he can only watch as the ball instead goes across him and into the net.

FORSBERG MAKES IT TWO!

Fifteen seconds after the restart and Leipzig have doubled their advantage. Forsberg and Nkunku link up nicely, then Silva flicks the ball beautifully back into the Swede's path. He slips the ball past Müller for two.

LEIPZIG LEAD AT THE INTERVAL

What a half of football! The pace never let up and both sides had chances but Stuttgart netminder Müller was definitely the busier goalkeeper. It was always going to take something special to beat him on this form, and Szoboszlai provided it with a wonderful strike.

SZOBOSZLAI SCREAMER!

The deadlock is finally broken thanks to a thunderous hit from Szoboszlai. He's had to wait a long time for this moment following the injury-hit start to his career at the club. The January arrival has marked his home debut with one of his trademark goals. From the right of the area, the Hungarian let fly across Müller for one of the sweetest goals you'll see this season.

There's also a first Bundesliga start for Hungarian attacker Dominik Szoboszlai.

Sasa Kalajdzic is back for Stuttgart, although the striker begins on the bench here; he is likely to come on in the closing stages. Hamadi Al Ghaddioui starts up top again in his stead, while Philipp Klement deputises for the injured Atakan Karazor.

MARSCH AND MATARAZZO TO MAKE HISTORY

Today's game is also a special occasion in Bundesliga history, as two American coaches go head-to-head for the first time ever. We take a closer look at what it means in the video above.

WHAT THEY'RE SAYING - LEIPZIG

"We had a bad day against Mainz and we've reinforced a few tactical things," said Leipzig supremo Jesse Marsch at his pre-game media briefing, his side having lost 1-0 to Mainz last weekend. "We have a big challenge ahead of us, but the team know that Stuttgart are a strong side and that we have to bring a good performance. We will be ready."

WHAT THEY’RE SAYING - STUTTGART

“I’m focusing fully on my team and what strengths we can make use of in the match in order to be successful, and also on what Leipzig might throw at us in the game,” said VfB head coach Pellegrino Matarazzo at his pre-match press conference. The 43-year-old also confirmed that striker Sasa Kalajdzic will be back in the squad: “He’s looking sharp, but it’s too soon for him to be in the starting line-up.”

HEAD-TO-HEAD

In six Bundesliga meetings to date Leipzig have won five and drawn one, although they have taken maximum points from each of the last four. Amadou Haidara and Emil Forsberg got the goals on the most recent occasion, on Matchday 31 in April this year, as Leipzig emerged 2-0 winners. Click on the video above for highlights of that game.

TALE OF TWO LEFT-BACKS

Two of the league's most attack-minded left-backs will be on the field this evening: Angelino for Leipzig and Borna Sosa for the hosts. Check out the video above for some of their highlights!

HAPPY TRAVELLERS

Leipzig might be the favourites on paper after finishing as Bundesliga runners-up last season, but Stuttgart are a very good away side and not to be underestimated. Head coach Pellegrino Matarazzo's charges had the fifth-best record of all teams on the road last term, winning more points on their travels (24) than on home turf (21).
