LEIPZIG UP TO SIXTH
Leipzig eventually wore Wolfsburg down to record their third league win in a row. Out-of-form Wolfsburg didn't do a lot wrong, putting in a strong away performance after a slow start. They'll rue some missed chances late in the first half as they have now gone nine Bundesliga matches without a win and hover just above the relegation zone. Willi Orban got his first goal of the season with 14 minutes left, nodding home after Silva's header hit the frame of the goal. Josko Gvardiol then marked his 20th birthday by getting his second goal of the campaign on the break. Leipzig are now up to sixth, ahead of Hoffenheim on goal difference and only four points behind third-placed Bayer Leverkusen.

GVARDIOL SEALS IT!
With Wolfsburg piling bodies forward, Mukiele finds Josko Gvardiol in lots of space, and he finishes like a striker by clipping the ball over Casteels. The goal is awarded after a VAR review and surely Leipzig are home and dry now.

ORBAN BREAKS THE DEADLOCK!
Leipzig had been pushing and their pressure pays off. Olmo does brilliantly to find some space and dink over a cross from the right of the area. Andre Silva rises high and his looping header comes off the woodwork. Orban is there to nod home the rebound, though, and this time his goal does count.

WOLFSBURG FINISH STRONGLY
Wolfsburg started slowly but they finished the first half really strongly. Novoa got a shot on target for Leipzig but in the last 20 minutes it was one-way traffic for the visitors. The home side were penned into their own box when the half-time whistle blew.

HOW DID THAT STAY OUT?!
Baku races down the right and his cutback to the edge of the area is met by Roussillon. The French player slips and scuffs his effort a couple of yards forward, Gulacsi makes a save from Vranckx, Waldschmidt can't connect with the ball, and then Gerhardt's shot is deflected off target when he was well placed in the area. Phew!

GULACSI SAVES!
Aster Vranckx's free-kick is awkwardly shovelled behind by Gulacsi in the Leipzig goal. The corner comes to nothing.

BORNAUW HEADS WIDE!
Leipzig manage to clear the free-kick after Simakan's foul but Wolfsburg keep the pressure up. Baku whips over a great cross from the right but centre-back Sebastian Bornauw powers a header well off target. Weghorst was just behind him, and looks disappointed that he was robbed of a chance to test Peter Gulacsi himself.

SIMAKAN IN TROUBLE
At the right of a back three, Simakan will have to be careful for the rest of the game after mistiming a challenge on Wolfsburg midfielder Yannick Gerhardt.

BETTER FROM LEIPZIG
Spanish youngster Novoa races down the right and fires over a good low ball across the box. Wolfsburg defender Maxence Lacroix does just enough to clear the danger.

BAKU THE OUTLET
Wolfsburg have threatened a couple of times on the break now. It's clear that they're trying to get Baku into the game as often as possible, but so far Leipzig are making sure the final ball isn't getting trough to Wout Weghorst.

PHYSICAL ENCOUNTER
As you would expect from two sides that played in the UEFA Champions League group stage this season, neither team is giving an inch so far. Ridle Baku got down the right for the visitors, but Leipzig were able to shut down the attack.

LEIPZIG WARY OF WOLVES
These sides last met on Matchday 3, when a rare Jerome Roussillon goal gave Wolfsburg their third win from three at the start of the season. The Wolves are out of form now, but Leipzig boss Domenico Tedesco is not taking them lightly. "If you look at their squad, you can’t underestimate them," he said pre-game. "Wolfsburg’s players are proven in this league. They have top players in every position and that’s how we’ll approach the game."
LAST TIME THEY MET
VRANCKX IN FOR WOLVES
Wolfsburg drew 0-0 at home to Hertha Berlin last time out, and they are again missing injured joint-top goalscorer Lukas Nmecha today. Renato Steffen is suspended for this game, so Belgian midfielder Aster Vranckx comes in in the only change for the visitors.

CRUNCH ENCOUNTER
Leipzig are looking to make it three league wins in a row - and if they do they will climb to sixth. Wolfsburg, meanwhile, are without a Bundesliga win in eight games. As a result, they're just two points outside of the relegation zone. Victory for the visitors would see them climb four places from 15th.
