WIND HAPPY WITH WINNING DEBUT

+ 1
ALL OVER
A much-needed first win for Wolfsburg in 12 games and one Vranckx will remember, as he opened his account for the club. Fürth fought hard and deservedly levelled, but two deflected goals took the wind from their sails and they had no response to the Wolves' second-half onslaught.

BELIEF GONE
Fürth seem to have lost all belief after that fourth goal, those two cruel deflections shattering them and probably sealing another defeat for the cellar dwellers.
75'
ANOTHER DEFLECTED GOAL!
Maximilian Philipp sends in a powerful volley which, like with Arnold's goal, takes a deflection to leave Burchert no chance. Surely that's enough for victory?

VRANCKX DOUBLES UP!
He's scored his first Bundesliga goal, gone close to two more and now… he's got his second, and you wouldn't bet against him completing a hat-trick, the way he is playing! Vranckx lashes the ball into an open goal after Burchert raced off his line and missed his punch.
48'
KRUSE CLOSE!
That was the chance for Kruse to score on his return, but with only Burchert to beat, he's placed his shot wide of the post!

ALL SQUARE, ALL FAIR
Fürth responded well to an early wave of Wolfsburg pressure, which yielded the opening goal. On balance, the guests deserved to level and a draw at the break is a fair result.

28'
VRANCKX SO CLOSE!
After waiting so long for his first Bundesliga goal, Vranckx almost got his second within 20 minutes! He probably should have been celebrating too, but instead placed a free header wide of the left-hand post.

HEAD-TO-HEAD
This will be just the fourth Bundesliga meeting between these teams. They first locked horns in the top flight in 2012/13, with the sides drawing 1-1 in Wolfsburg before the Wolves triumphed 1-0 in Fürth. Wolfsburg also won away earlier this season too, earning a 2-0 success back on Matchday 4.

NEW-LOOK WOLFSBURG
The Wolves reacted to their situation by making several moves in the winter transfer market. Wout Weghorst, Admir Mehmedi, Josuha Guilavogui and Daniel Ginczek all left the club, while Max Kruse was the headline signing from Union Berlin. Fellow attacker Jonas Wind is another newcomer to keep an eye on, as is up-and-coming American teenager Kevin Paredes.
THE STAKES
There are still plenty of games and points left in the season, but this match already has the distinct feeling of a relegation six-pointer. Wolfsburg's 11-game winless run in all competitions has seen them plummet to 16th in the standings on 21 points. Fürth, by contrast, are enjoying their best spell of the season, and are unbeaten in four. They're still bottom of the table and 11 points adrift of Wolfsburg though, so only a win will do for them here.
