OPENING FOR EGGESTEIN
Freiburg play the ball around the edge of the Frankfurt area nicely and suddenly space opens up for Eggestein. But he takes a touch instead of shooting, which allows Kostic to nip in front and take the ball off his toe.

FRANKFURT APPEAL
Hinteregger goes down in the box while trying to reach a Lindstrom cross from the right and appeals for a penalty. It looks like a regular tussle for the ball though and the referee waves play on.

KAMADA GOAL DISALLOWED!
A huge roar goes around Deutsche Bank Park as Kamada heads in from close range to level the score, but after a VAR review it won't count as the Japanese playmaker was offside.

HRUSTIC HITS THE POST!
Hrustic's free-kick goes straight into the wall but the rebound bounces straight back to him. He shoots again, first time with his left foot, and it strikes the inside of the post before bouncing across goal and bobbling wide of the opposite upright! So close!

DANGEROUS LOCATION FOR A FREE-KICK...
Jakic is stopped in his tracks by Lienhart just outside the Freiburg area. The defender receives a yellow card for his trouble and Frankfurt have a free-kick in a promising position...

SURPRISE, SURPRISE!
Günter slings in a free-kick from the left, deep towards the back post. Petersen, who's only been on the pitch for eight minutes, beats his marker and heads in from close range!

LINDSTROM GOES CLOSE
The Frankfurt attacker nicks the ball off Jeong, jinks inside Lienhart and gets a shot away from 20 yards. He strikes it cleanly and Flekken is concerned enough to dive full stretch, but the ball whizzes just wide of the post.

PACIENCIA IN
Borre is taken off - he's been quiet for most of the game after a lively opening for minutes. The Colombian gets to rest his legs ahead of Barcelona on Thursday, with Paciencia now leading the line.

TRIPLE CHANGE
Freiburg need a goal, so who do they call on? Nils Petersen of course! The Bundesliga's all-time greatest supersup takes to the pitch as head coach Christian Streich looks to shake things up for the final 30 minutes.

FRANKFURT ARE LEVEL!
Freiburg failed to heed the warning with their high defensive line moments earlier with Lindstrom's disallowed goal, and this time Frankfurt equalise! Hauge slots the ball between two defenders for Kostic to latch on to, and the Serbian winger makes no mistake with a low shot past Flekken. Game on!

LINDSTROM GOAL DISALLOWED
Knauff dribbles forward down the right and plays the ball forward into the path of Lindstrom, who's bending his run behind Schlotterbeck. The Dane drives into the box and slots the ball past Flekken, but it won't count as he was marginally offside in the build-up.

NO CHANGE
The flow of the match is similar to the first, with Frankfurt on the ball and Freiburg only pressing the home team when they get into their half. After executing a counter-attack to perfection for Grifo's goal, perhaps they're waiting for another opportunity to catch their hosts out on the break.

NARROW LEAD
A hard-fought first half comes to an end with Freiburg in the lead. Frankfurt will be frustrated to be behind, having been the more proactive side so far, but despite their possession and attacking endeavours they haven't managed to create any clear-cut chances of yet. Freiburg, on the other hand, were clinical with the one opportunity they have had and enjoy an advantage at the interval thanks to Grifo's strike.

KOSTIC CORNER
A chance for Frankfurt to equalise before the break? It's delivered from the left, but Freiburg are very robust at the back and are able to clear the danger.

FRANKFURT PROBING
The home side aren't letting themselves be thrown off course by the shock of going behind, and are still going on the front foot. Kostic and Knauff are trying hard down the flanks, but Freiburg are looking solid in defence so far.

EARLY CHANGE
Sow trudges off the pitch. The Swiss midfielder picked up a knock a few minutes ago and received treatment for a few moments, but can't continue. He's taken off - presumably with Thursday's match in Barcelona in mind - and replaced by Jakic.

FREIBURG LEAD!
What a counter-attack! Frankfurt had three chances in quick succession through Hauge, Hostic and Knauff - all of whom had shots blocked. Freiburg suddenly burst forward on the break and Sallai draws three defenders towards him in the box before threading it through to Grifo, who side-foots in from 10 yards!

FIRST THREAT FROM FREIBURG
Grifo releases Günter into space down the left and the Germany international gets to the byline before looking to cross into the middle. It's blocked by Trapp though, much to Günter's frustration as he had a couple of teammates lurking in the middle there.

SOW HAS A GO
The Frankfurt central midfielder surges forward from the right and shoots left-footed at goal. He catches it well but it's straight at Flekken, who makes a comfortable save.

WIDE FROM BORRE
Some lovely link-up play from Frankfurt here as their one-touch passing opens up the Freiburg defence. It's played through for Borre, who fires off a powerful drive from 16 yards, but it whistles just wide of the right-hand post.

BORRE MAKING MISCHIEF
The Colombian striker chases down a long ball forward and almost gets there ahead of Lienhart, but the Freiburg centre-back is able to clear just in time.

WHAT THEY'RE SAYING - FRANKFURT
"Freiburg's season isn't a surprise to me," said Eagles head coach Oliver Glasner. "They have a lot of continuity in the squad. It's going to be a very difficult game, as we saw in the first half of the season. They'll demand everything of us. I'll put out a team that I'm confident will win. It's not about doing favours for anyone. The same goes for Sunday - Tuta will start."
TEAM NEWS - FRANKFURT
Eagles boss Oliver Glasner has likewise made two changes to his side following the 1-1 draw with Barcelona on Thursday. Team captain Rode replaces Jakic in central midfield, while Hauge takes Kamada's place in attacking midfield.
TEAM NEWS - FREIBURG
Streich has made two changes to the side that lost at Bayern last week: Gulde and Schmid drop to the bench, with Kübler coming in at right-back and Demirovic up front as Freiburg look to be switching from a 3-4-2-1 formation to a 4-2-3-1 today.

WHAT THEY'RE SAYING - FREIBURG
"Frankfurt have a lot of quality, they played really well against Barcelona,” warned Freiburg coach Christian Streich at his pre-match press conference. “We need to improve. We need to be better than we were in Fürth [a 0-0 draw] and better than against Bayern [a 4-1 defeat] if we want to get anything from this game. Our attitude, body language and confidence in our own game will be decisive.”
HEAD-TO-HEAD
Frankfurt are unbeaten in their last four home games against Freiburg, winning two and drawing two. The Eagles marginally hold the upper hand overall too, with 15 wins from the 35 Bundesliga meetings to date. There have been seven draws and 13 wins for Freiburg.

FORM - FRANKFURT
Frankfurt would love to have Freiburg's consistency, having blown hot and cold all season. The 1-1 draw with Barcelona in the Europa League on Thursday shows what they're capable of, and they could be forgiven for having half an eye on the return leg this week. Still, the Eagles went unbeaten through March, winning two and drawing one in the Bundesliga (as well as knocking Real Betis out of the Europa League), while they drew 0-0 with Fürth last weekend.
FORM - FREIBURG
Christian Streich's side had been going well prior to last week's 4-1 defeat in Munich. They were unbeaten in six Bundesliga games before that, winning three and drawing three. They're also the fifth best side away from home this season, winning five, drawing five and losing four, scoring 19 and conceding a league-low 15 goals.
THE STAKES
European qualification is on the line for these two, with Freiburg in fifth place and just three points off a top-four spot. That's looking difficult to wrestle from an in-form Leipzig side, but they need a win if they're to stay ahead of Hoffenheim, Union Berlin and Cologne, who are all within two points of the Black Forest club. Frankfurt are down in ninth, six points worse off than Freiburg, so could take a big step of their own towards a top-six finish.
