WHAT A GOAL!

Bellingham pings a superb low ball forward, splitting the visiting defence. Moukoko chases it in the inside-left channel before shooting across Lotka, his effort bouncing off the inside of the post and going in!

POSITIVE AGAIN FROM BYNOE-GITTENS

There's more than a hint of Pulisic and Sancho in the way Bynoe-Gittens plays. He's unafraid to run at players much older than he is, with superb close control to boot. He takes on two Hertha defenders down the Dortmund left before ultimately running out of space, but he'll be one to keep an eye on next season.

HAALAND GETS HIS GOAL

He just had to, didn't he? Lotka dives to his right and Haaland smashes it down the middle. It strikes the goalkeeper's trailing leg but has enough on it to go in!

DORTMUND FREE-KICK

Bynoe-Gittens drives forward - he's been lively since he's come on - and as he looks to slot a pass into Bellingham's run, the latter is tripped by Darida.

HAALAND WATCH

It's been a frustrating afternoon for the Norwegian so far. He's only had 17 touches of the ball, the second fewest of any Dortmund outfield player. Only Bynoe-Gittens has had fewer touches (15) but he only came on at half-time. Haaland has also only had one effort at goal.
58'

HERTHA LOOKING SAFE

Anthony Modeste has just equalised for Cologne in Stuttgart, which means Hertha now have a five-point cushion above the relegation play-off place. If the scores stay the same, Hertha are safe.
54'

DORTMUND GO CLOSE

Reus whips in the free-kick, aiming for Haaland, but a Hertha head just gets to it first and clears for a corner.
52'

POSITIVE FROM BYNOE-GITTENS

Receiving the ball on the left wing, the English youngster jinks inside and flicks the ball past Pekarik, who fouls him. That's given BVB a free-kick in a promising position on the left-hand corner of the box.
51'

CHANCE FOR REUS!

The Dortmund captain latches on to Brandt's ball into the box and shrugs off his marker. He attempts to take it around Lotka, but his touch is too heavy and goes out of play.

HAALAND TO SIGN OFF WITH A GOAL?

Dortmund are playing towards their famous Yellow Wall now. Can they draw a goal out of Haaland as he bids farewell?

SO FAR, SO GOOD FOR HERTHA

Dortmund have been on top, particularly in the last 15 or 20 minutes of the half, but they haven't looked dangerous. Belfodil's penalty is the difference between the sides and right now it's enough to keep them in the league. More drama surely awaits after the break, though!
45'
+ 4

LOTKA DOWN

The Hertha goalkeeper scrambles towards his back post to tip over Zagadou's floating cross, and smacks his face against the upright as he does so. That looked a painful one and he's receiving treatment for that whack.
44'

WIDE FROM BRANDT!

Wolf collects a long ball on the right and plays it inside to Brandt. He dances past a couple of challenges inside the box and shots left-footed, but it's wide of the post. The referee's assistant also raises his flag for offside against Wolf, so it wouldn't have counted anyway.
41'

DORTMUND PRESSURE

They might not be able to get a clear sight of goal as yet, but BVB have been camped out in Hertha's half for the last few minutes as they turn the screw. The visitors are defending well and in numbers though.
37'

DORTMUND'S FIRST GOAL ATTEMPT

Reus delivers a free-kick into the box, where it's met by Wolf, who flicks it on with the back of his head. The ball goes well wide but at least it counts as an effort on goal for the hosts.
33'

TOO INTRICATE

Bellingham and Guerreiro exchange passes on the edge of the Hertha penalty area, but they're soon crowded out by defenders. Dortmund are struggling to click here and have yet to have a shot on goal.
29'

MIDFIELD BATTLE

Belfodil's penalty is still the only shot on goal at either end of the pitch so far.

BRIEF OPENING FOR TOUSSART

The Hertha midfielder finds space to run into and enters the Dortmund box. He could get a shot away on his left foot but doesn't fancy it much, and the hesitation allows Can to come back and nudge him off the ball.

DANGEROUS CORNER

Brandt drives a low corner from the right across the Hertha box. It's an inviting one, begging to be struck first time, but it runs harmlessly all the way through.

RISKY FROM LOTKA

Hertha play the ball back to goalkeeper Lotka, who doesn't immediately punt the ball upfield but takes a touch to steady himself. That invites Haaland to bear down on him, drawing a huge roar from the crowd, but the young Dortmund-bound goalkeeper just manages to get rid of the ball in time.

Last meeting

When these sides met in December, it was Hertha who emerged triumphant from a five-goal thriller.

Goals expected

Games involving Dortmund this season have seen the most goals (134 in total), and 22 of those have come in their past four games, at an average of over five a game. Furthermore, in their past two home games, the Signal Iduna Park crowd has seen seven goals each time. Get strapped in, then and expect goals galore.

Record in sight

Dortmund could set a new goalscoring record today - they are currently on 82 goals, one shy of their best ever single-season haul. With Haaland set to start, that record could well be toppled today.
camera-photo

Finish on a high - Rose

Indeed, Dortmund coach Marco Rose insists there is plenty to play for, even if Dortmund will finish second regardless. "First and foremost, three points are up for grabs," he said. "It's definitely not irrelevant - we want to win our last game at home and we will be bidding farewell to many special players and directors, but as soon as the game kicks off, I'm expecting everybody will be focused."
camera-photo

Hertha up against it - Magath

Hertha coach Felix Magath says he is not expecting any favours from Dortmund today. "We're up against the runners-up, the second best team in the country," he said. "Dortmund are clear favourites, but we want to end our season with a good performance."

Another farewell

Michael Zorc ends a 44-year allegiance with Dortmund today, and what a job he has done. Ousmane Dembélé, Jadon Sancho, Christian Pulisic, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Shinji Kagawa are just some of the players brought in and then, after becoming BVB heroes in their own right, moved on by the sporting director. Just like Erlng Haaland too.

After Haaland, Hitz

Not only will today be Haaland's last in a Dortmund shirt, but Swiss goalkeeper Marwin Hitz will pull on his gloves for the last time, defending Dortmund's goal, after announcing a short while ago that he will leave the club this summer.

Precarious position

This defeat to Mainz last weekend has left Hertha in such a precarious position heading into this afternoon's game, in the Final Chapter of the 2021/22 Bundesliga campaign.

Not all about Haaland

That is right, this is a HUGE game for Hertha, who hope to avoid shedding any tears themselves as they continue their bid for Bundesliga survival. A draw here would be enough for Felix Magath's side - currently in 15th and three points ahead of Stuttgart - to ensure their top-flight status for another year. Defeat opens the possibility of contesting the relegation play-off, if VfB Stuttgart beat Cologne.

Haaland's 20-minute debut hat-trick

He scored his hat-trick so quickly, it fits nicely into such a short snippet...

What an introduction

Haaland signed for Dortmund in the January 2020 transfer window, with then BVB coach Lucien Favre saying he has “something special”. His debut actions spoke louder than those words, though, when on 18 January, as Dortmund kicked off their 2020 away at Augsburg, Haaland made a memorable entrance. Three minutes and three touches after coming on with Dortmund 3-1 down, he buried his first shot for the club. Next shot, same result, and Borussia were 4-3 up only 14 minutes after his introduction. No surprises what happened with his third attempt on goal. Three out of three after just 23 minutes and 10 touches on a Bundesliga pitch, and the ball was going home with him.

Haaland's best moments

See some of the best moments of Erling Haaland in the Bundesliga, starting with a hat-trick on his debut.

A tough act to follow

Erling Haaland plays his final game for Borussia Dortmund today after two and a half years which have seen the Norwegian smash scoring records and strike at better than a goal every 90 minutes (bets on at least one more today, anybody?). This match will give Haaland the perfect stage on which to sign off in the only way he knows how: with goals. The Norwegian has 21 in 23 Bundesliga outings this season and will be hopeful of adding to that tally against a Hertha side that has shipped 69 this term.
