xGoals
The xGoals value of a club is calculated from the sum of all goal probabilities (goals and shots on goal) of that team. During a match, it’s easy to see whether the club is performing better than expected (goals> xGoals) - or maybe even higher (xGoals> goals).
Frankfurt could have expected at least two goals according to the stats. It just hasn't been their night - yet...

Lenz hits the ball down the left flank for Knauff. He comes inside but can't find Aaronson in the box with the American in a threatening position.

Thuram in space

The French striker breaks free on the right now. Nothing comes of his ball across, but it shows a risk Frankfurt have - the more they push for an equaliser, the more they might leave space at the back for a Gladbach side very capable of exploiting it.

Lenz with a goal-saving challenge!

Great defending! Hofmann escapes behind the Frankfurt defence on a break, and does well to hold the ball up and lay it off to Neuhaus. Lenz slides in to tackle just before he can pull the trigger in front of Trapp.

"A hard-fought match"

Frankfurt boss Oliver Glasner is looking ahead to a tough contest against the visiting Foals, the Austrian explaining: “I see two teams at a similar level. Little things will decide the game. They have robustness and pace in their play, they always like to bring in their wide players. But they also offer you spaces, which we need to use. I expect a hard-fought match.”

"Sense of anticipation"

Foals coach Daniel Farke will have very much enjoyed last weekend's win at Wolfsburg but he wouldn't be put on the spot as to where he feels his side may finish the current campaign. "We’re going into the final seven games with a real sense of anticipation," the tactician explained. "We will try and pick up as many points as we can, then we will see where we end up after Matchday 34."

Lindström at the double

Jesper Lindström scored twice when the teams met on Matchday 11 at Borussia Park. On that occasion, Eintracht ran out 3-1 winners with Eric Dina Ebimbe also on target for the victorious visitors.

Intrigue ahead

They may be through to the DFB Cup semi-finals, but Eintracht's stop-start run in the Bundesliga of late will be causing coach Oliver Glasner concerns. The Eagles' game against a Gladbach side unbeaten in their last three will thus make for an intriguing watch on Saturday.
