It's all about Bremen tonight. What a first-half showing from the hosts, who blew Gladbach away from the get-go. The visitors never recovered from an early Füllkrug-Ducksch-Füllkrug triple punch and the Green-Whites just kept landing the blows thereafter. Hats off to Ole Werner's team. For Farke and Co. there will be plenty to learn from this.

Thuram with a delicious back heel for Hofmann, who finds the inside of the post! Suspicions of a Thuram offside in the build up, however. That likely wouldn't have counted had it gone in.

Füllkrug (who else?) has a blast from the right after some Gladbach back-and-forth passing led to nothing of note. Not surprisingly, we're playing at about a quarter of the first half intensity here.

Phew, where do you start with a summary of that first half? Gladbach have been battered by the brilliance of Ducksch and Füllkrug, who are putting in a performance for the ages. Werder as a whole have been flowing and wonderfully accurate with their passing. Borussia, meanwhile, just never got started in this game. This being the Bundesliga, though, who knows what drama awaits after the break!

Hosts Werder are still without a home win this term, not that coach Ole Werner is overly concerned by that fact. The 34-year-old is confident that if his side continue to play as they have been up until now, maximum spoils will be theirs at the Weserstadion sooner rather than later. "We are very happy with how things are going right now and if you look at the performances, we’ve by no means played any worse at home than we have in our away games,” Werner said.
