A 0-0 draw last time out against relegation strugglers Mainz for Rose's men gave Dortmund an unexpected top four advantage, particularly considering they followed up with a first win away to Bayer in 10 years. Now three points back, a win for Leipzig would be huge, especially with BVB facing another tough task in Stuttgart. Freiburg, meanwhile, are looking for another European finish in Streich's final season, and could go three points off sixth with a win.

Rose shakes things up

The big news comes from Marco Rose, who makes two changes from the 0-0 draw against Mainz and brings back Benjamin Šeško and Amadou Haidara, with Kevin Kampl and Christoph Baumgartner dropping to the bench. Christian Streich, meanwhile, keeps the same XI from a statement 3-0 win over Gladbach last time out.

Freiburg's iconic coach Christian Streich recently announced he'll soon be ending his time in the managerial hot seat after 12-and-a-half years in charge. The latest round of the Streich-farewell show took in the team's biggest win of the season against Borussia Mönchengladbach on Matchday 27.

Coming up together

Freiburg and Leipzig were both promoted to the Bundesliga in the summer of 2016 and have remained in the top flight ever since. The team from the Black Forest may have come up as champions of the second division back then, but Leipzig have since notched up 128 more points than Freiburg in the Bundesliga since.
