Almost game over
Traoré gets a foot to Beier's low attempt, which diverts it narrowly beyond the post. That really wasn't far away.

Heidenheim have a lifeline!
The visitors are awarded a penalty after Süle fells Kaufmann in the area and, from the spot, substitute Breunig sends Kobel the wrong way. A little over 15 minutes for Schmidt's men to find an equaliser.

Guirassy's night comes to an end
No goal for Guirassy on his debut, but he can be please with his display.

Guirassy denied!
An acrobatic attempt from the 28-year-old is kept out by Müller, who makes himself big to save. Guirassy is getting closer!

Almost four
Sabitzer's deflected effort nestles in the net after some brilliant work from Groß, but the midfielder handled the ball in the build and the strike is chalked off.

Scienza denied!
The Heidenheim left-winger has two bites of the cherry, but Sabitzer twice gets a leg in the way. Solid work from the substitute.
59'
Close!
Selfless from Adeyemi, who instead looks to play in Guirassy instead of going for goal himself. The pass, though, is beyond the former VfB Stuttgart man, and he can't quite get the ball under control before it bobbles away.

Adeyemi looking for first Bundesliga hat-trick
The Germany international scored triples for Red Bull Salzburg in the Austrian Bundesliga, but never in the German equivalent. He has a great chance to do so here with 40 minutes remaining.

Half-time: Borussia Dortmund 3-1 Heidenheim
An enthralling first half comes to a close with Dortmund two goals in front. They flew out of the blocks by scoring twice inside the opening 20 minutes courtesy of efforts from Donyell Malen and Karim Adeyemi and, although Marvin Pieringer halved the deficit shortly before the break, there was still enough time for Adeyemi to net his second of the game and restore the two-goal advantage.

Dortmund restore two-goal advantage
Goals galore here as BVB net a third. Ryerson breaks quickly down the right and, although Guirassy doesn't actually get a touch to the ball, his dummy allows Adeyemi to sweep a side-footed shot home. That's his second of the night, and he has again given Dortmund breathing space.
40'
Heidenheim back in it!
Just like that, the visitors have one back! It's a brilliant cross from Traoré, who finds Pieringer unmarked. The former Schalke man had previously seen a chance from a similar position saved, but he makes no mistake this time as he finds the corner.
38'
Guirassy quiet so far
The centre-forward has not been too involved in the opening 38 minutes, although he hasn't needed to thus far with Malen, Adeyemi and Brandt instead taking starring roles.

Write Heidenheim off at your peril
FCH came from behind to pick up points in 11 games last season - one of which was against Dortmund at Signal Iduna Park, when they were also 2-0 down early on before recovering to earn a 2-2 draw.

Calming the game down
Heidenheim have enjoyed a little more possession in the past few minutes as they look to get a foothold in this clash.

Kobel saves
A comfortable stop for Kobel, but Scienza's attempt is Heidenheim's first effort of the encounter.
18'
Dortmund flying!
Not even 20 minutes are on the clock and Dortmund are two to the good! Ryerson wins the ball in the defensive third and within seconds they are bearing down on goal. Brandt feeds Adeyemi, who curls a first-time strike into the corner. Müller didn't even get a hand to it on this occasion.

Dortmund have lift-off!
With their first shot on target, Die Schwarzgelben break the deadlock! Another burst of pace from Adeyemi allows him to drive towards the box before feeding Malen, who fires towards the bottom corner. Müller gets a foots to it, but can only direct it into the top corner.
10'
Strong start
The hosts have kept their opponents pinned back in their own half so far, although a clear-cut opportunity has not yet fallen their way.
6'
Wide!
The ball falls to Groß on the edge of the area, and he immediately searches for the far corner. His effort, however, curls narrowly beyond the post.
5'
Adeyemi positvity
The winger, who scored five goals for Germany's U21s during the international break, shows all of his pace and dribbling skills to beat a couple of Heidenheim defenders. His cross is ultimately easily picked up by Müller, but that was a statement of the youngster's intent.
3'
Guirassy's first involvement
The striker, making his debut for the club, wins a free-kick about 40 yards from goal.

Dortmund struggles against league-leaders
Die Schwarzgelben have not won any of their previous nine fixtures against the league-leaders, drawing three and losing six. Last season, though, they held Bayer Leverkusen to draws on both occasions, with the eventual champions needing to come from behind to salvage a point each time.
