A way back?
Can Guirassy's goal inspire a comeback, or is it too little, too late?

Dortmund's two-goal hero in midweek, Jamie Gittens, is on the bench for Dortmund, while Guirassy starts on his return to his former club, as does Anton. For Stuttgart, they make one change to their side from their defeat to Real Madrid, with Führich dropping to the bench and Ermedin Demirović starting up top with Undav.

Familiar faces
Stuttgart welcome back two notable former players in Anton and Guirassy, while Dan-Axel Zagadou and former Dortmund youth team player Chris Führich will also be facing their old club.
European adventure
Both sides come into this fixture on the back of midweek Champions League fixtures away from home, with Stuttgart facing Real Madrid and Dortmund facing Club Brugge. Stuttgart performed admirably against Real, equalising late in the game through Deniz Undav before eventually falling to a 3-1 defeat. Dortmund won their fixture 3-0 thanks to goals from Jamie Gittens (2) and Serhou Guirassy.
Mixed feelings
The home side have had an interesting start to the season, losing one, drawing one and winning one while conceding seven goals in the process. Their recent win against a good Gladbach side will have filled them with plenty of confidence ahead of today's clash with an unbeaten Dortmund side.

Sahin starts strong
Despite being relatively new to senior management, Sahin's Dortmund have started the season well. They have won two of their opening three games and drawn the other, scoring six and conceding two.
New man in the dugout
Although Stuttgart were unbeaten against Dortmund last season, they'll be coming up against a new look side today. As well as poaching Waldemar Anton and Guirassy from Stuttgart, they've got a new head coach in the dugout, Nuri Sahin.
Seeking revenge
Stuttgart did the triple over Dortmund last season, winning home and away in the league and once in the DFB Cup. The most recent of those wins saw Serhou Guirassy score the only goal of the game for Stuttgart, a man who is now a part of the visiting squad today.

Hosts with the edge
Stuttgart won all three meetings with Dortmund last season, including a DFB Cup Last 16 tie. The 364 goals the pair have scored in games between them is the most of any Bundesliga match-up. Ahead of Matchday 4, the next best is Werder Bremen and Bayern on 363, and - coincidentally - they play on Saturday.
