Jonas Omlin's continued absence will mean Moritz Nicolas will remain between the sticks, while Franck Honorat is also missing. The good news for Seoane, though, is that Alassane Pléa should again be available after suffering from a knee issue that forced him off against Stuttgart last week. Robin Hack and Nathan Ngoumou are likely to be competing for Honorat's place on the right of attack.

Josip Juranović and Yannic Stein are Union's two long-term absentees. Ivan Prtajin and Kevin Volland will also miss out after their respective injuries.

Gladbach's biggest challenge will be breaking down a backline that has conceded just twice this term. That gives Union the best defence in the Bundesliga so far alongside Leipzig.

While Gerardo Seoane's side have struggled at home, Union are winless in their past seven league outings themselves. Will either side be able to end their respective droughts here?

The visitors are, alongside Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig, one of just three sides to remain unbeaten across the opening four matchdays. They are unbeaten in six games in all competitions, too, showing they are a tough nut to crack.

These two teams have met just 11 times in the Bundesliga yet, despite Gladbach's prestige, Die Eisernen have the upper hand.
