Full-time: Dortmund 2-1 Leipzig

The home side inflict Leipzig's first defeat of the season with a superb display in front of their fans. In spite of their injury list, Dortmund reacted to a disappointing loss last weekend with a confident performance and a win. Leipzig offered little throughout the game and can't have many complaints over the result, but Dortmund still had to capitalise on this.

Half-time: Dortmund 1-1 Leipzig

The home side have looked assured in the first half, controlling possession and creating good scoring opportunities. They reacted well to going behind with an instant equaliser, and maintained their rhythm after that goal. Leipzig haven't got going at all, even after their goal. They'll need a big improvement in the second half.

Goal! Leipzig take the lead!

In a rare foray into the Dortmund final third, Šeško finishes emphatically to give his side the lead against the run of play. A clever backheel from Openda by the byline found the Slovenian striker in space by the near post, where he smashed the ball into Meyer's net.

Injuries piling up

Dortmund's changes are mainly a result of injuries, with it looking like Emre Can will play at centre-back with Pacal Groß filling in at right-back, a position he covered while at Brighton on occasion. First-choice goalkeeper Gregor Kobel is also out, while Maximilian Beier starts for the third time in the league.

More on those teams

Leipzig make two changes from their win on the previous Matchday against Freiburg, with Vermeeren and Klostermann coming in for Kampl and Lukeba. Dortmund make four changes with Meyer, Can, Groß and Beier coming in for Kobel, Anton, Ryerson and Malen.

Şahin on THAT injury-list

“Ten injuries is quite a number, I've never seen that before. But we'll get out of it, things will turn around. We'll stick to our guns and not try to hide behind excuses. That would be too easy."

Nuri Şahin on "difficult situation"

“It's a difficult situation, we don't have to beat around the bush. With the defeats, the cup exit and the injury list, it's extremely bitter. We'll still have a good team on the pitch. We need the stadium tomorrow more than ever. I'm sure the stadium will have a feel for our situation, we want to continue our home streak."

Rose on other injuries

There was good news emerging from Rose's press conference in the form of Péter Gulácsi, Assan Ouédraogo and Nicolas Seiwald all returning to first team training. All three are now available in varying capacities.

Marco Rose hopeful on Openda

Loïs Openda was missing in action against St. Pauli in the DFB Cup this week after picking up a medial ligament injury, but coach Marco Rose isn't ruling the striker out of the trip to Dortmund just yet. "With Loïs, we have to see how he reacts in training today," Rose told media on Friday morning. "We're still hopeful. If he gets on the plane, he'll be in the squad. Then he might even play from the start."
