Full time: Wolfsburg 3-0 Darmstadt

The Wolves burst out of the blocks in the first half and raced into a 2-0 lead after just 11 minutes. They were the better side for the rest of the half but were unable to add to the scoreline, despite some promising openings. It was a more evenly contested encounter after the break, but home goalkeeper Koen Casteels was rarely troubled as the Wolves saw the result over the line for a win that should be enough to keep them out of relegation trouble, Černý 's fine late volley putting the seal on a deserved success.

Crucial goals

As it stands, Wolfsburg are now nine points above Mainz, who occupy the relegation play-off place. If Mainz don't win their game in Heidenheim tomorrow, Ralph Hasenhüttl's side will have secured their Bundesliga status for another year.

Quickfire double!

Just what Wolfsburg needed as they look to pull further clear of the relegation zone! Majer dances into the right-hand side of the penalty area, draws the goalkeeper towards him and then lays it off for Wind to smash into the net from around 12 yards out!

Survival in reach

Not for Darmstadt, unfortunately, whose relegation has already been confirmed, but the Wolves can secure their Bundesliga status this weekend. Wolfsburg be safe if they better Mainz's result against Heidenheim tomorrow, or they win and there's also a winner between Union Berlin and Bochum. That game also takes place on Sunday.

Hasenhüttl's view on Darmstadt

"The fact that Darmstadt have already been relegated hasn't played a role in our preparations. Maybe they can play with more freedom now that they've got nothing to lose, or maybe they'll be more downhearted. Anything can happen but we won't know until after the weekend. We're just focusing on what they're strengths and weaknesses are, as we do with every opponent."

Lieberknecht's view ahead of Wolfsburg

"Wolfsburg have a team with excellent players. They had a man sent off in the reverse fixture, but we weren't able to take advantage. We won't like losing twice to a team in one season, so we want to win this return game against Wolfsburg. That's our mentality for going there."
