Bayern Munich to sign Hamburg's Jann-Fiete Arp
Bayern Munich have reached an agreement to sign Hamburg prodigy Jann-Fiete Arp, the record Bundesliga champions announced on Thursday.
In an unusual move, it is Arp himself who will decide the exact timing of the completion of the transfer, though the Germany U19 forward will make the switch by 1 July 2020 at the latest, Bayern confirmed.
"The 19-year-old striker can move to Munich in summer 2019 or he will be a pro at Bayern for the 2020/21 season," read a Bayern statement. "The decision on when he leaves Hamburg is only up to Fiete Arp."
Arp made his Bundesliga debut on Matchday 7 of the 2017/18 campaign, and then scored on his second appearance to become the first player born in the 21st century to hit the back of the net in the German top-flight.
