The 111th edition of Der Klassiker lived up to its billing as Dortmund and Bayern battled to a thrilling 1-1 draw at Signal Iduna Park. The first half saw both teams struggling to create clear-cut chances, with Bayern dominating possession but failing to break down Dortmund's resolute defence. The deadlock was broken in the 27th minute through a moment of individual brilliance from Jamie Gittens. The young winger collected the ball on the left flank, beat Konrad Laimer with a burst of pace, and unleashed a powerful left-footed strike past Manuel Neuer. The goal, which had only a 12% probability of being scored, sent the Yellow Wall into raptures and put Dortmund in control.

Bayern's setback and Dortmund's resilience

Bayern's task was made more difficult when star striker Harry Edward Kane was forced off with an injury in the 33rd minute. Thomas Müller replaced Kane, but Bayern struggled to break down Dortmund's defence. Gregor Kobel was in inspired form for the hosts, making several crucial saves to preserve Dortmund's lead going into half-time.

Bayern press for equaliser

The second half saw Bayern intensify their efforts to find an equaliser. Jamal Musiala grew increasingly influential, while Leroy Sané and Kingsley Coman provided constant threats from the wings. Dortmund, however, remained dangerous on the counter-attack, with Gittens and Serhou Guirassy causing problems for the Bayern defence.

Musiala's late strike salvages point for Bayern

Just as it seemed Dortmund might hold on for a victory, Bayern's pressure finally paid off. A free-kick was initially blocked, but Michael Olise's cross found Musiala unmarked in the box. The young German international made no mistake, heading home to level the scores and silence the home crowd. Despite late pressure from both sides, neither could find a winner in the closing stages.
